Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Awww, trunk or treating sounds like such fun! I wish I was there to decorate cookies

Sounds like your Sunday is going to be wonderful! It's mighty cold here and there was a little snow last night, but nothing like they got north and west of me. It sure is windy out though!

If you get some time during your family fun today, pop over to my Disneymoon PTR that I just started :)

Memom, I am so appreciative of the Pop pictures! I think I will just see where they put us for the night. All of the locations look fairly close, and really we are doing the walk twice. Once to go to bed and once to check out. It makes no difference where we sleep. I still have to walk all around to recreate your photos for myself!

I am glad your 2nd observation will be finished before your Christmas trip- too much stress to have hanging over the holiday. I wish our dates were going to overlap so that I could be at the Poly beach (or whatever other awesome location if the sand delivery gets in the way...). One of these trips though. With travelling multiple times a year, we are bound to have similar dates at some point!

I would have loved to see Bella say that at the trunk or treat. Too cute!!! We had ours at church on Friday night. Ellie is just getting the hang of it. Except she goes up and says "Booo", instead of Trick or Treat. It is hilarious.

I'm sure it was wonderful having all of your family together. Chicken casserole sounds very tasty!

I can't wait to see what the girls dressed up as at Trunk & Treat.
I say it every time but I think it's such a fun concept your church has to do this.
I'm sure your trunk is the Best! :thumbsup2

I hope our NYE plans work out...where will we go? I kinda suspect it won't be an issue but we will have to wait and see. :grouphug:

momof2TNboys sorry you won't be going to Aulani.
Your consolation trip sounds like it's going to be just as fun!

Tink9721 ....you keep that snow to yourself! I am not ready for that yet! :rotfl:

We stayed there in October, 2007 (pre-DIS board days) when we went down for a long weekend and the Halloween party. We loved it there -- I have fond memories of eating the tye-dyed cheesecake.

Happy Sunday to you, too! Looking forward to the Trunk or Treat pictures! The cookie decorating station would be my favorite, too.

We just have plain sugar cookies, frosting, and assorted sprinkles and candies - nothing extravagant - but the little kids love it. I usually color the frosting orange, green, and purple, but I just left it white this year, and they didn't care a bit. I am simplifying things in my old age. ;)

I wasn't sure about a Pop stay for you. Which building were you in?

Good morning! Hope everyone will have a great Sunday! All this talk about NYE is getting me so excited! Well, I have some bad but not unexpected news. Just as I expected, Jason talked me out of the Aulani trip for this year. He is very concerned about the long flight, price of airfare, and the fact that we just went this summer. I am bummed, but I know he is right. My boys would have a very hard time with the flight.
So, as a consolation, I have great news! I booked a Western Caribbean cruise on the Disney magic instead! Also, since we have so many more points now, I changed our June trip to 3 nights AKL savanna view and 7 nights BLT lake view!
We are crossing our fingers to try for a week at VB or HHI anytime in July.
Cooper's student teacher has not started full time yet. He has a female teacher. I will see how she is doing when I volunteer in a couple of weeks.
Hope you have good luck with yours. Glad you had a great time at trunk or treat. We had ours at church Friday night. It was really fun.

The flight would be the drawback for me. I can do the short flight to MCO now, but I had to really work out some strategies for my claustrophobia when we first started flying. I don't think I have enough strategies for a flight as long as one to Hawaii! Your consolation prize sounds nice, and your AKL/BLT trip sounds wonderful! :woohoo:

I wish I had Trent and Bella's willpower about sweet stuff. We went to a Halloween festival yesterday and I bet I had eaten 10 pieces of the kids candy before we got home. I don't crave it but if it is around me, I can't help myself. We also went to a local neighborhood that puts on a fantastic Halloween display. They used to work at Disneyland so there is alot of Disney touches. They have several animatronics that pop up in the graveyard scene that is alot like the Haunted Mansion. They have several POTC scenes including the jail scene with the dog holding the key. It is awesome. I will try and post pictures after church but if I don't get around to it, here is a link to their website:
www.swanbroughmanor.com

I haven't checked the link yet, but I plan to do that this evening. It will be a nice Halloween night treat.

I can't eat a lot of candy at once. I am more of a nibbler. Like a regular-sized candy bar, I wouldn't eat it as is, but I would take a bite at a time over a day or two. When I bring home Disney treats, I eat on them for like two weeks! My big downfall with sweets is ice cream. I eat ice cream almost every day, and sometimes when I work late, I will just come in and have a bowl of ice cream in place of my dinner and then just call it a night.

I definitely do not have Trent or Bella's mindset about candy! I would have been right there with that little girl at her favorite, the awesome cookie-decorating station!

We had a lot of fun. It was pretty cold, though, so a lot of the costumes, our girls included, were covered up with coats. It's supposed to be cold at Halloween, though. It added to the atmosphere.

So happy that you have the whole group with you! That sure makes cooking fun!
Looking forward to the pictures when you put them up!
I think that's very cool that Bella isn't all that fond of candy. Oh to be like Trent. It isn't a fun battle to fight.

Busy day here in Kansas awaits us!

Chicken and Noodle making ahead. The chicken was cooked yesterday and I need to de-bone it. Marc will make the noodles.
Kids are coming to pumpkin carve late this afternoon.
I am making "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" shirts for tomorrow's Halloween parade at school for the teaching team. Shirts are washed and hung dried, all ready for the DIS iron on designs!
MUST dash out to Dillard's and try on some boots they are holding for me...
On top of all that?
I have homework....

I had homework, too. Brooklynn had to go home and do a little, as well, but hers was much 'funner' than mine. She got to make an Ariel turkey  and had to do observation stuff.

I will have to have the pleasure of tasting Marc's homemade noodles one of these days.

Sounds like a fun time at your house, too. I love having all of my people together. :)

Most of the snow is melted now. Apparently a bunch of people lost power. One of my mom's coworkers called and said their office building has no power and some places up there might not get it back for 5 days I'm SO glad we didn't lose power. If we did I was gonna be knocking on the door of the power company saying "Hey, we were some of the last people to get power last time, so we'll be first this time right?" I was so paranoid about losing power last night. I was charging everything just in case. I would explode if we had to have ANOTHER week without power

On a different note, I've been having weird Disney dreams almost every night this week. I wonder if that's a sign I had a horrific one a couple nights ago. We were taking a 3:00 PM flight instead of our usual early morning one. Then it was delayed and we were gonna miss the 8:00 PM ADR that I booked. And apparently I hadn't booked any other ones for the rest of the trip And the plane was made out of wood I can't believe I'm having these dreams before I even know if I'm going

Having no power is way worse than having the snow.

I have not had any Disney dreams in a long, long time. I wish I would have some fun times in Disney dreams sometimes. It owuld be like a mini-trip. :wizard:

We will have such fun following along on your wedding plans and honeymoon trip!

Cold here for now is the 30's. That will be the high later in the winter, but still nothing like your northerners have to deal with.

Yeah, if you are there for just one night, it is not going to make a bit of difference. We just like to see where we land by the luck of the draw, and I have stayed in every building now except for Mowgli/Baloo and Lady. Some I have stayed in more than once, of course. I guess for the summer trip I might request one of those two buildings so that I can be closer to having stayed in them all. I hope you enjoy seeing all of the gigantic toys around the place. :goodvibes

I am very glad to be getting my observation out of the way. When I hear people say theirs is not until December, I am very glad that I will now have that hanging over my head any more! :woohoo:

I would have loved to see Bella say that at the trunk or treat. Too cute!!! We had ours at church on Friday night. Ellie is just getting the hang of it. Except she goes up and says "Booo", instead of Trick or Treat. It is hilarious.

I saw your FB picture of the pumpkin seeds. Hope you guys are having a fun fall! Did you say you went to the zoo? Maybe the week before or after we went?

I hope our NYE plans work out...where will we go? I kinda suspect it won't be an issue but we will have to wait and see.

We had chicken casserole, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, corn, fried apples, and rolls. That's the standard fare for us, it seems like, because everybody likes it. The next big meal I cook witll be Thanksgiving weekend.

We'll find something to do for NYE, even if we have to get creative. :)

What better way to start a Halloween morning than with some Mickey sprinkled cake?

TrunkorTreat2011002.jpg

And maybe a Mickey Mummy cookie?

TrunkorTreat2011003.jpg

Yeah, yeah...I know...starting the day in Disney World would be better.
I gotcha there. ::yes::

But since we can't be in Disney World, unless we are Doreen and we got snowed out of our flight and had to spend extra days in Disney World, then we'll Disney up our day as much as we can. My kids at school will be coloring Disney Halloween pictures, and I may sneak in a Disney movie this afternoon. ;)

I only took a few pictures at Trunk or Treat.
Here is Dawn, who was with us in WDW, with her youngest grandson, Micah.

Bunches of cousins.

On the other side of Parker/Jack Sparrow you will see Ray and Joan, the patriarch and matriarch of the clan. Joan is the one who had the really bad wreck last year. She is doing well now, and is truly lucky to be alive.

Brooklynn and Carson were going to be big kids and ride alone on the hayride.

Christopher promised not to let them fall and tested his wingspan to be sure he could do the job.

Mr. Eddie, one of the nicest (and most country-talking) guys you will ever meet, drove the tractor.

They enjoyed going around the parking lot twice. Afterward, everyone went inside to warm up and have another bite of a snack. Here are some cute spiders that Brandy had made.

TrunkorTreat2011021.jpg

Bella ate the pretzel legs off of one of them.

Hope everyone has a fun and very, very safe Halloween day and night!

Happy Halloween!!! Hope everyone has a blast today. My plan is to get off work as soon as I can and go home to my boys. We will trick or treat in our neighborhood a little, give out candy, make ghost cookies and watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
Surprisingly, I am not that upset about Aulani. I would have really loved to go back, but I know my boys would have made the flight miserable. I cannot see them sitting for over 5 hours at a time. Also, I really think they are too young to do what I do in Hawaii. We love exploring and hiking and that is dangerous for little ones there. The cruise is a great diversion for sure!! I am so excited.
When is Anita going to Vero? I am thinking last of June, first of July or anytime in July. I would really like to fit a couple days in at WDW too. When is your June trip again?

Happy Halloween!!! Looks like a great weekend was had with your family!!! OOOH I want a Mickey Mummy cookie...how fun is that!!

Tonight I think I'm going to make my oh so good apple dip, cut up some apples and have a special treat!!!

Hey there! I've been following along silently for a while but I thought it was time to come out of lurker-ville.
From reading your TR it's very obvious to me that family is the biggest thing for yall and I just love that! What an awesome family you have, too. :goodvibes
Anyway, just thought I'd finally post and 'introduce myself' since I've been enjoying reading this TR so much! Have a great Halloween!

Having no power is way worse than having the snow.

I have not had any Disney dreams in a long, long time. I wish I would have some fun times in Disney dreams sometimes. It owuld be like a mini-trip. :wizard:

My dad lives about an hour north of us and still has no power :sad2: It was bad when we didn't have it but it's worse for the people who don't have it now because it's so cold.

I wish I would have fun Disney dreams. Mine are usually stressful :rotfl:

I love Brooklynn's costume. Aladdin is one of my favorite movies. I found all 80 something episodes of the animated Aladdin TV series on youtube last week and I've been watching it the past few days. I remember that being on when I was a little kid and I love it just as much, if not more, now

Josh, Jeremy, and Leslie are taking Kazin and Caleb trick or treating in our town tonight and they're gonna stop by our house :goodvibes I miss my little guys. It's been a few months since I've seen them since we've all been so busy with school and work :sad2:

Such cute Halloween goodies!!!

We've barely managed to get our pumpkins carved this weekend! But we are ready for the trick or treating tonight! My neighbor and DD8's BFF's dad gets his 4 wheeler hooked up to a trailer with hay bales and the parents ride around on that while the kids run up and down the block! It's pretty fun and for once it's not going to be too cold here!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Happy Halloween! Your Trunk or Treating looked like great fun. Ty will be doing "some" Trick or Treating tonight. Dont know if I'll join them though. I have been fighting a pretty nasty cold/flu thing. At least I got to go Trunk or Treating with him Wednesday nght. He was so cute this morning he got out of bed and came in and said Happy Birthday Nonnie! It took lots lots of prompting from his Mom but he said it.
Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween.

What a fun party! The girls are so cute, decked out in their princess gear. princess:

That tractor looks just like one of tinkgurl's grandpa's tractors! Her fiance taught Chris how to drive them when we visited her this summer!

All the Halloween food looks so yummy! I could go for a Mickey Mummy cookie right about now...:rolleyes1

So I'm super behind on here (and I'm too lazy to go back and find out) - are you doing a TR for this latest trip separate from this one or is it included here? Sorry for my loserness. :rolleyes1

Trunk Or Treating looks fun! The princesses certainly look adorable (as usual:goodvibes) Not much going on here for Halloween. It's cold and threatening to rain...so this morning I watched the Boo To You Parade and Hallowishes on YouTube and I wore my black and orange mickey bracelet out today when I went to order my snow tires ($800...I could have gone to Disney again!) I wish I had started my day with Mickey cake or a Mickey-Mummy cupcake! Those look delicious!

princess:Hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween!pirate:

Happy Halloween! Trunk or treat looks like a lot of fun; I think your station with the cookie decorating would have been my favorite, too!

Pretty much all the snow we got here has melted. We got maybe three inches, which is absolutely nothing. My cousin is home from college till Thursday, since there is no power at her school. :scared1:

What a fun party! The girls looked adorable as usual...
Hope you are staying safe from all the spooks tonight!
Happy Halloween!
