We stayed there in October, 2007 (pre-DIS board days) when we went down for a long weekend and the Halloween party. We loved it there -- I have fond memories of eating the tye-dyed cheesecake.
Happy Sunday to you, too! Looking forward to the Trunk or Treat pictures! The cookie decorating station would be my favorite, too.
We just have plain sugar cookies, frosting, and assorted sprinkles and candies - nothing extravagant - but the little kids love it. I usually color the frosting orange, green, and purple, but I just left it white this year, and they didn't care a bit. I am simplifying things in my old age.
I wasn't sure about a Pop stay for you. Which building were you in?
Good morning! Hope everyone will have a great Sunday! All this talk about NYE is getting me so excited! Well, I have some bad but not unexpected news. Just as I expected, Jason talked me out of the Aulani trip for this year. He is very concerned about the long flight, price of airfare, and the fact that we just went this summer. I am bummed, but I know he is right. My boys would have a very hard time with the flight.
So, as a consolation, I have great news! I booked a Western Caribbean cruise on the Disney magic instead! Also, since we have so many more points now, I changed our June trip to 3 nights AKL savanna view and 7 nights BLT lake view!
We are crossing our fingers to try for a week at VB or HHI anytime in July.
Cooper's student teacher has not started full time yet. He has a female teacher. I will see how she is doing when I volunteer in a couple of weeks.
Hope you have good luck with yours. Glad you had a great time at trunk or treat. We had ours at church Friday night. It was really fun.
The flight would be the drawback for me. I can do the short flight to MCO now, but I had to really work out some strategies for my claustrophobia when we first started flying. I don't think I have enough strategies for a flight as long as one to Hawaii! Your consolation prize sounds nice, and your AKL/BLT trip sounds wonderful!
I wish I had Trent and Bella's willpower about sweet stuff. We went to a Halloween festival yesterday and I bet I had eaten 10 pieces of the kids candy before we got home. I don't crave it but if it is around me, I can't help myself. We also went to a local neighborhood that puts on a fantastic Halloween display. They used to work at
Disneyland so there is alot of Disney touches. They have several animatronics that pop up in the graveyard scene that is alot like the Haunted Mansion. They have several POTC scenes including the jail scene with the dog holding the key. It is awesome. I will try and post pictures after church but if I don't get around to it, here is a link to their website:
www.swanbroughmanor.com
I haven't checked the link yet, but I plan to do that this evening. It will be a nice Halloween night treat.
I can't eat a lot of candy at once. I am more of a nibbler. Like a regular-sized candy bar, I wouldn't eat it as is, but I would take a bite at a time over a day or two. When I bring home Disney treats, I eat on them for like two weeks!

My big downfall with sweets is ice cream. I eat ice cream almost every day, and sometimes when I work late, I will just come in and have a bowl of ice cream in place of my dinner and then just call it a night.
I definitely do not have Trent or Bella's mindset about candy! I would have been right there with that little girl at her favorite, the awesome cookie-decorating station!
We had a lot of fun. It was pretty cold, though, so a lot of the costumes, our girls included, were covered up with coats. It's supposed to be cold at Halloween, though. It added to the atmosphere.
So happy that you have the whole group with you! That sure makes cooking fun!
Looking forward to the pictures when you put them up!
I think that's very cool that Bella isn't all that fond of candy. Oh to be like Trent. It isn't a fun battle to fight.
Busy day here in Kansas awaits us!
Chicken and Noodle making ahead. The chicken was cooked yesterday and I need to de-bone it. Marc will make the noodles.
Kids are coming to pumpkin carve late this afternoon.
I am making "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" shirts for tomorrow's Halloween parade at school for the teaching team. Shirts are washed and hung dried, all ready for the DIS iron on designs!
MUST dash out to Dillard's and try on some boots they are holding for me...
On top of all that?
I have homework....
I had homework, too. Brooklynn had to go home and do a little, as well, but hers was much 'funner' than mine. She got to make an Ariel turkey

and had to do observation stuff.
I will have to have the pleasure of tasting Marc's homemade noodles one of these days.
Sounds like a fun time at your house, too. I love having all of my people together.
Most of the snow is melted now. Apparently a bunch of people lost power. One of my mom's coworkers called and said their office building has no power and some places up there might not get it back for 5 days I'm SO glad we didn't lose power. If we did I was gonna be knocking on the door of the power company saying "Hey, we were some of the last people to get power last time, so we'll be first this time right?" I was so paranoid about losing power last night. I was charging everything just in case. I would explode if we had to have ANOTHER week without power
On a different note, I've been having weird Disney dreams almost every night this week. I wonder if that's a sign I had a horrific one a couple nights ago. We were taking a 3:00 PM flight instead of our usual early morning one. Then it was delayed and we were gonna miss the 8:00 PM ADR that I booked. And apparently I hadn't booked any other ones for the rest of the trip And the plane was made out of wood I can't believe I'm having these dreams before I even know if I'm going
Having no power is way worse than having the snow.
I have not had any Disney dreams in a long, long time. I wish I would have some fun times in Disney dreams sometimes. It owuld be like a mini-trip.
Awww, trunk or treating sounds like such fun! I wish I was there to decorate cookies
Sounds like your Sunday is going to be wonderful! It's mighty cold here and there was a little snow last night, but nothing like they got north and west of me. It sure is windy out though!
If you get some time during your family fun today, pop over to my Disneymoon PTR that I just started

We will have such fun following along on your wedding plans and honeymoon trip!
Cold here for now is the 30's. That will be the high later in the winter, but still nothing like your northerners have to deal with.
Memom, I am so appreciative of the Pop pictures! I think I will just see where they put us for the night. All of the locations look fairly close, and really we are doing the walk twice. Once to go to bed and once to check out. It makes no difference where we sleep. I still have to walk all around to recreate your photos for myself!
I am glad your 2nd observation will be finished before your Christmas trip- too much stress to have hanging over the holiday. I wish our dates were going to overlap so that I could be at the Poly beach (or whatever other awesome location if the sand delivery gets in the way...). One of these trips though. With travelling multiple times a year, we are bound to have similar dates at some point!
Yeah, if you are there for just one night, it is not going to make a bit of difference. We just like to see where we land by the luck of the draw, and I have stayed in every building now except for Mowgli/Baloo and Lady. Some I have stayed in more than once, of course. I guess for the summer trip I might request one of those two buildings so that I can be closer to having stayed in them all. I hope you enjoy seeing all of the gigantic toys around the place.
I am very glad to be getting my observation out of the way. When I hear people say theirs is not until December, I am very glad that I will now have that hanging over my head any more!
I would have loved to see Bella say that at the trunk or treat. Too cute!!! We had ours at church on Friday night. Ellie is just getting the hang of it. Except she goes up and says "Booo", instead of Trick or Treat. It is hilarious.
I saw your FB picture of the pumpkin seeds. Hope you guys are having a fun fall! Did you say you went to the zoo? Maybe the week before or after we went?
I'm sure it was wonderful having all of your family together. Chicken casserole sounds very tasty!
I can't wait to see what the girls dressed up as at Trunk & Treat.
I say it every time but I think it's such a fun concept your church has to do this.
I'm sure your trunk is the Best!
I hope our NYE plans work out...where will we go? I kinda suspect it won't be an issue but we will have to wait and see.
We had chicken casserole, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, corn, fried apples, and rolls. That's the standard fare for us, it seems like, because everybody likes it. The next big meal I cook witll be Thanksgiving weekend.
We'll find something to do for NYE, even if we have to get creative.
