Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

We did do the Ghouls at Grassmere at the zoo. I think we went that Saturday you got back from Disney. Although, the zoo was great, I would have rather just gotten back from Disney -lol. We did love it. There is so much to do and a great family environment.

Abby insisted on doing the pumpkin seeds and did the whole thing, really. Picking the seeds out of the pumpkin meat was a great activity for her - took her forever, but she was very dedicated to it.

I hope your evaluation goes smoothly.

I am glad you had a nice Halloween.

Please don't think I am crazy but I am asking for prayers for our dog, Matilda. She went outside a little while ago and came running back in the house yelping. She was bleeding and there is a large, deep gash down her back. We thought at first she was attacked by something, but there are no bite marks. Our yard is fenced in so if she was bit by something, it would have been a raccoon or oppossum. The only thing we can think of is that my husband has some of his constuction equipment in the backyard on a trailer. It looks like she might have gone under it, got caught on something, and then ripped her back. My husband has taken her to an emergency animal hospital. I am so worried about her but also for the kids. Ethan, who is 9, woke up due to her yelping. He is very upset about Matilda and also from seeing me crying. He is having a hard time going back to sleep. Both kids are now laying on my floor in my bedroom since Ethan woke up his brother to tell him what happened when we were loading the dog in the car. I will update as soon as I hear something. Thanks for praying for us, even though it is probably a strange request. Our pets are part of the family.

Saying a prayer for you all right now! What a terrible situation for everyone! I hope they get her fixed up!

My thoughts are with you and I hope the vets are able to fix Matilda up.

My husband just called about the dog. Good news is she is going to be ok. They are going to sedate her, clean her wound and stitch her up. The bad news is it is going to cost $1000.00 minimum to fix her up but what else can you do? Yikes!

OUCH- I am wisheing Matilda a speedy and as painfree as possible recovery. Good luck with the recovery process and hope she is good as new.

How completely awesome would it be to own a Disney waffle maker? I don't think I'd ever eat anything but waffles again! :rotfl:

I have a Mickey Mouse waffle maker, but a POP one would sure be fun, too!

Hmmmm, I'll take a ham and cheese croissant with a side of banana bread...not sure I'll eat it all but I'll give it a shot :thumbsup2

Have a happy Wednesday MeMom and Jill :goodvibes

No way I could eat all of that in one sitting, but I could nibble at that banana bread for a while. ;)

Wednesday came and went. Now on to the biggest day of this week - Observation Day.

Trunk or Treat looks like lots of fun:thumbsup2

I love all the Disneyfied food, especially the Mummy cookie. That is such a cute idea (that I might have to steal next year)

I got the cookie idea from the Family Fun magazine (online). They have such cut ideas.

Falling behind on my DISing as we get ready for our trip... but wanted to stop by & say hello!!

I hope you guys have the most awesome time ever! :dance3:

Good to know that Trent would eat a hard boiled egg. I have been on a hard boiled egg kick trying to jump start weight loss again. Wasn't sure if that was a wise choice instead of egg beaters. I must be doing something right!!!

He eats plenty of eggs.
He is always talking about gaining weight. I hate people like that.

Great update! Love the food pics. Hope you are having a great week so far. We have been busy with Spirit week at Cooper's school. He went tacky today. LOL. Hope the evaluation goes well and you can relax for awhile.
BTW, we just got Disney on Ice tickets for tomorrow. It is in Knoxville.

SPIRIT WEEK - fun! :cheer2: I only want to do the fun parts of school! Can we arrange that when we build DIStown???

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2819078

I don't want to spoil the surprise, in case anyone wants to follow along. I don't think it's too bad, but It's not finished yet so there might be more to the story!

I will look this weekend. :)

I will definitely take a POP waffle please. I absolutely love those!

Me, too. I did not have one on this October trip. I will have to do that in December. :goodvibes

The zoo has really come along. ::yes:: I hope they continue to make such nice improvements.

I'm sure the pumpkin activity was very enlightening. Some kids have never seen or experienced the slimy insides of a pumpkin.

I hope your evaluation goes smoothly.

I am glad you had a nice Halloween.

I will be so glad when this is over. It's not just the normal evaluation. There is a new twelve point checklist, and other each point, there are subpoints. Unless I do about 50 things during a 45 minute period, it is impossible to get a 5. If I do 50 things during a 50 minute period, I won't be doing any one thing right, but rather I'll be dancing all over the place trying to get in th 50 things. It's pretty much a no win situation.

Halloween weekend was fun. I look forward to Thanksgiving break now. :thumbsup2

I was not on here last night to know about all of this. I am so glad your baby girl can be fixed up, and I know how hard that was on all of you. When my cat got so very sick that time and I thought I was going to lose him, I shed some tears, so I know what it is like to hurt for a hurting pet. I hope she will be as good as new. I'm sure that is a night you will never forget!

Keep us posted on her healing progress. We are sending out lots of comfort and extra lovin' to her this morning.

********************************

This is the big day. I have 45 minutes to show perfection. The kids have to be perfect and the lesson has to be perfect to score a 5. They have pretty much told us that a 5 is unattainable - that they were told not to give a 5. 95% of teachers will get a 3 or a 2. That is how the rubric was planned, so say the principals. Oh, well...I will do my best, and what I get is what I get. As long as I keep my job, I will take a 3. Any good thoughts you could send my way this morning would be much appreciated.

Good morning! Best of luck today. May your classroom be sprinkled with pixie dust!

Best of luck to you today! That evaluation system sounds awful! It's like that at my husband's job...they are only "allowed" to give so many 4's, 3's, etc. so even though he "earns" a 5 according to his boss, he usually only gets a 3 or 4. Makes no sense to me!:confused3

We have our school Academic Review today. Basically, clipboard people come and interview us, look at lesson plans, data notebooks, and do classroom observations. Then they keep up after school to tell us what we are doing wrong. Since I am on the leadership team, I am a big part of all of this. So, my stress level is really high today also and we, too, will be trying to put on a dog and pony show that cannot achieve perfection no matter what. So frustrating!:sad2:

Good luck today. No matter what score they "have" to give you, we all know that you are a awesome teacher. Your students and their families are lucky to have you.

Update on Matilda:

She is ok but it was more than what the doctor first expected to see once he started to clean her up. She did tear some of the muscle in her back and that had to be repaired. Her backbone was showing at another spot, so they had to really be careful and do some deep stitching. She also has 2 drainage tubes. She is pitiful. She has to wear a Cone of Shame to prevent her biting at the wound. She was not happy about that. She just keeps her head on the floor like she can't lift it. She looks like a lamp. I hope she adjusts because she has to wear it for 2 weeks. I will post pictures later this afternoon. Thanks again for the prayers.

OH, this just makes me sick :sad2: It's so hard when your pets are hurting!
