Mine Train Harness?

Quick question about the ride cars on the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. Are you "buckled in" at all? I ask because my wife refuses to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad since the only time she rode with me, she felt like she was going to "fly out" as she put it. And as hard as I try, I cannot convince her that she is perfectly safe to ride it with me, and I fear it'll be the same with the Mine Train.

I have no idea what the restraint system looks like.
Can you guys ride separately on BTMMR so the lapbar is more secure on her? It's tough when the legs on the two riders are different sizes.

harnesses are typically only for rides that go up side down. I'm assuming its a lap bar

I saw some photos from the commercial taping, and it looks just like the btmrr lap bar, but there are separate handhold bars as well. I am a little nervous since I am not a coaster fan, but I will try it once.

There's a great video on you tube that has a ride through. it's DEF not a harness but some sort of lap restraint.

If it makes your wife feel any better, i don't think any of the drops on this ride are as high as the plunge on splash mountain and that ride has no restraints.

Has anyone ever fallen out of BTMRR in all the years it's been in operation? No. If it was possible, it would have happened by now.

from the videos i have seen, the restraint system looked individual. So your DW can adjust her's to her comfort level. I too get "nervous" on rides with a single pull down as my husband is quite a bit taller and bigger than me. I fly around pretty good on BTMR

True - most of us know that. I personally know that, and don't have problems riding anything at disney world with whatever restraint system is in place, but some people are really 'touchy' about this kinda stuff and need that extra comfort. My dad told me something when I was young that always stuck with me:

I was about 12, about to get on my first real roller coaster - he said, they wouldn't let you ride it if it wasn't safe. I've always remembered that. This is true, except in the case of carny rides of course :-)

I get thrown around a lot too when I ride BTMRR. Most of the time I ride solo, and that makes me more nervous. It's the back and forth motion of the ride that makes me nervous, not the up and down.

I don't usually ride roller coasters, but I will have to ride the Dwarf Coaster at least once. It looks really cool. Although I do miss the Snow White attraction that it is replacing.

I have this problem on BTMRR. What I do is once we are secure I pull me legs back to the seat so that my legs are wedged under the bar.

~There is really no need for a harness. I prefer the look of the mine train cars over Big Thunder Mountain's -- they look more secure. Let your wife sit on the inside -- only one side of the mine train cars have an opening -- the other side is sealed in. Have fun! :cool1:
