~*~ Mindyjoy's May 19 2012 Disneyland Wedding TR ~*~ Trip Report Has Begun!

Mindy they're amazing!!! I love them all. Can you photobomb us with some more, please? :yay:

Those pics are amazing!!!! I really love them all!! I'd say they were definately worth the wait!!!

Oh, they are gorgeous! There are so many fun, unique ones that I love! The one where you guys are spinning the wheel, the Chesire Cat, the one where you are imitating the dancing statue... so cute! It's really a shame your photographer turned out to be so unreliable, because she takes gorgeous pictures!

The photos are all stunning and definitely worth the wait.

Corinna

Thank you!

Hehehe, thanks! It's not her fault since she got sick, but the lack of communication was a bit frustrating. She is a great photographer!

I agree. We want more! Those are so awesome! I love the photo processing with the purple tint. Very cool.

She has a great eye for style.

What beautiful pictures! They're all amazing!

Thank you!

I LOVE your epics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! Quite a compliment coming from you, with your AMAZING e-pics!

Due to popular demand, here's a link to my flickr page with all the e-pics that I approve of, hehehe. I have tons more that are okay but I don't look my best, so you don't get to see those!!! I don't want to post any more here at the risk of looking completely egotistical!!! :rotfl:

On a different but kind of related topic, I may have found a potential photographer for the wedding. The only problem is, they are very, very new to the wedding industry, having only shot TWO weddings. But they (engaged couple) have extensive photography experience and I do like their work very much. And by the time our wedding rolls around next year they will have shot several more weddings. The BEST part about them is a) they are WAY cheap, and b) they love Disneyland and are annual passholders!!! I read about them on Offbeat Bride. Here is a link to their website.

I am a little nervous about hiring relative newbies since photography is really super important to us, but I do really love their work and I really REALLY love their pricing. I would love some opinions from my fellow brides ... "what would you do?"

I went to Michael's today and got a few things. First off, I tried to make some simple centerpieces that I thought could go on tables at the cocktail hour. I hate to leave the tables plain, but I also hate to spend a bunch of money on a location that's essentially a holding area.

The silver one I made the flowers a little taller than the copper one. I'm not sure what color pail I like better, the silver or the copper. Thoughts? The other downside is that the flowers look WAY fake when you look at them up close. (They also need some moss or something to cover the styrofoam!)

I also found some cute plastic flowers that I want to try to work into my bouquet somehow. I still don't know if I'm making my own bouquet or going with Disney floral.

I also just got back from visiting my Grandma, and she gave us a nice frame.

She said she's had it for a while but kept forgetting to give it to us! But I forgive her, since she's almost 90!! Yep, good genes on the female side of the family. My other grandma is going strong at 96!

Your e-pics are wonderful! Thanks for sharing.

I think if you love the photographers then go for it. What a great way to get great pic's for a good price. I have a friend who did the same thing with flowers and they turned out beautifully.

Also, I like the copper pail with the flowers. It complements the tangerine tulips nicely.

Great pictures!

If you really like the photographers then I say go for it. They are new, so it would seem like they would be even more willing to please and more careful about any potential issues.

Thanks! I am leaning towards the copper too, since I think my accent color will be gold.

They have been great through email and we are trying to arrange a visit (at Disney, so they can actually see our locations!)

I just had a look at the photos and they are all wonderful.

As to the photographer, go with what your heard tells you. I don't think my photographer hI kas a huge amount of experience with wedding photography in particular. However, I had a look on here website and love her work. I found her via Google and her work just won me over straight away. She is an absolute star to deal with. We never had professional photos the first time round so this is a big deal for me for the vow renewal. I actually don't think that experience with wedding photography is actually such a bonus. I think an artistic eye, some imagination and the desire to work with the couple. From what I can see, this is all given here.

I love the flower arrangements that you made. I like the lower style better, but prefer the silver pail, but that is just me. I am always leaning towards silver. As to them looking artificial close up, I think everybody will be too busy to have a good time and to celebrate to have too close a look at your arrangements.

Love ALL of the pics!! They look wonderful!
Honestly, I'd go for it with the photographer. Save some money. Especially if you have seen their work and you like it :)
I prefer the copper pail with the flowers.
Cute frame!

Thanks, you are probably right, no one will be inspecting my arrangements ... although I admit I'm THAT person who goes around feeling flowers in people's homes to see if they are take or not, hahahahahahahah!

Mindy your pictures came out wonderful!!! Well worth the wait!! I love them!!! :goodvibes

My thoughts on the photography are although they are new to the business, I think you eventually have to start somewhere- and I do think that they will try extra hard to impress and have excellent customer service! Which you can still get with some of the more experienced photographers, but also the newness of a rookie photographer could get some more daring shots! I do like their work! :thumbsup2

I love those arrangements!! I actually like the more brassy darker pot better- it has a better contrast to the bright flowers...

Aww what a cute photo frame!! Your grandma sounds so awesome! :)

I agree about the photographer - if you like their work then you should probably go for it! My photographer is also a bit of a newbie, and her prices were really reasonable, and she had great sample pictures. Since we hired her in February she's shot a bunch more weddings and her prices have doubled - glad I got her when I did!!

Thanks all! Unfortunately I just got an email from the photographers that a relative is getting married the same weekend as us, in another state, so they are no longer available. :( I'm bummed, but at least I hadn't met with them and signed a contract or anything. I'm mostly bummed about missing out on that awesome price. So the search continues!

Last night I had another wedding nightmare. I dreamt it was the morning of the wedding and I hadn't done any of the DIY projects I had planned! Including the invitations! So I had no decor, bouquet, or guests!! I woke up laughing. Perhaps it's a sign I should just get everything through Disney, eh?? :lmao:

Speaking of DIY, I saw these make your own paper castles and thought it would be a cute idea for a card box! It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to make, even for a craft-challeged person such as myself.

There is even a mega-super-complicated Disneyland castle that I am intimidated by.

That is an awesome idea for a card box. I think it would be really awesome!!

That sucks about the photographer but you will find the perfect one!!!

Mindy, I have had that same exact nightmare! I keep having this dream that the wedding is happening right NOW, and everything that I've done up to this point is all that I've got!

The paper castles look cute and would make an awesome card box! The first one looks easier but the second one is gorgeous.

This is a shame that the photographers are not available on your wedding date. This is the photographer that I will be using. Her prices are very reasonable as well. http://www.imajenn.com/photopricelist.htm

I loved Jennifer's work from the get go and she is wonderful to deal with. I just signed our contract yesterday. She is in Garden Grove so fairly local to Disneyland.

I love the idea of having a castle as the card box.
