Good morning,
Has anyone heard if there are any plans on extending the current military promotion past the 27th of Sept? We are going in late Oct and can't change our dates.
When did they announce the extension last year?
Last question is it easy to apply the room discount to most resorts?

It usually is not announced until sometime in August (or at least that has been the pattern over the past few years).

I have never had a huge problem applying the discount to the room type I want, as long as I don't wait too long to book.

If it's renewed, the best tip I can give you is be flexible. Say you have a standard room booked, but there are garden view available with the discount. Grab the garden view..you're still saving, and the standard view may not ever be available with the discount. Or...maybe your chosen resort isn't available at all for your dates. Ask about other resorts. And I totally agree with Mousemommy's tip above-don't wait too long to book.

the Military Disney tips site is great for finding out discount info - he updated in the weeks leading up to last summer's discount announcement so I was totally prepared!

Also, as they mentioned, flexibility will be your stress-release! And, just because what you want may not be available doesn't mean you can't get it -- if you can't get your first choice, book your second fave... then, if the first choice keeps calling you, check back throughout the time before your trip and see if anything opens up! We did that in summer '12 - wanted to split POR with YC but YC was booked.... a few months out it opened up at a higher view. I grabbed it anyway and kept checking back and a few weeks out got us to the SV room I wanted. I would've been happy at water view but loved saving the money!!! Good luck!
