Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

This is how our day went at the Magic Kingdom on December 13th 2005.

3:00pm - Arrived at The Magic Kingdom
3:15pm - Took lots of pictures as we strolled down Main Street USA.
4:00pm - Watched The Country Bears Christmas Show
4:30pm - Had dinner at Pecos Bills in Frontierland with virtually no one else there.
5:00pm - Took the train back to Main Street and went out to get our wristbands for MVMCP
5:15pm - Headed for Tomorrowland and did Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and the TTA
6:00pm - Went to Liberty Square/ Frontierland for the standy while they emptied out the park. Visited The Haunted Mansion.
6:15pm - Cast members began letting people in to the Castle Stage area from Liberty Square.
6:45pm - Main Street Philharmonic performed a lovely pre-show on the Castle Stage.
7:00pm - Celebrate The Season show on the Castle Forecourt Stage. This has to be the most colorful stage show I have ever seen at WDW.
7:45pm - Mickeys Twas The Night Before Xmas show at the Galaxy Palace Theatre in Tomorrowland. Great Show!
8:15pm - Watch a few minutes of MVMCP in Liberty Square as we ate cookies and drink hot cocoa.
8:30pm - Head for Casey's Corner on Main Street. Got a table outside and had a hot dog.
9:15pm - Watched Holiday Wishes from Casey's. Lovely show!
9:45pm - Went to the Emporium and got my MVMCP pin and then got some goodies at the Confectionary
10:45 - Watched the entire Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade from Town Square.
11:30pm - Took the Ferry Boat to the TTC and then headed for home.

A few notes and highlights:

I got a real kick out of hearing Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music playing in Tomorrowland.

Fantasyland Hop was basically a dance area for kids with characters and a live DJ.

Virtually no waits for any of the rides. Buzz Lightyear said 20 minutes. It was more like 5. Peter Pan was at 10 minutes all night long. Haunted Mansion was a walk on.

Cookies were basically Snickerdoodles and the hot chocolate was nice and hot.

The line outside of "Mickey's Twas The Night Before Christmas" can be quite intimidating. Hoiwever you must remember, that there is no que line to the Galaxy Palace theatre and so everyone is stuck on the streets of Tomorrowland. We thought we would never get in for the 7:45pm show but there were tons of seats even after we got in.

While you do see occasional snow flurries from other places in the park they mostly blow down from Main Street. It does snow on Main Street various times throughout the evening, not just during the parade. It also snows at the end of "Celebrate The Season."

Character Sightings:

The Emporium/Town Square Area:

Santa Goofy and Max
Mary Poppins and Bert
Scrooge McDuck
The Penguins.

Fantasyland:
Belle and the Beast
Donald Duck

Fantasyland Hop:
Chip and Dale
Pluto

Note: These were just the ones we saw personally...ther were most likely more.

Overall it was an incredible night filled with all the magic and wonder of the holidays season unlike anything else I have ever experienced. I don't think any of us will ever forget it. I took well over 100 pictures and as soon as I can get them uploaded they will be in my photo albums linked at the bottom.

Thanks for reading,
Dusty and the Crew

IT snows all night long on main street during the party. It also snows at the Osbourne spectacle of lights. The snow at MGM seems to be heavier, but still noticable on main street.

We did the party on 12/11. Entered MK around 6:15 and were directed to Lberty Square. By 6:45 went back to the castle to get a spot for the Celebrate the Season show. Awesome loved the show one of the best stage shows in WDW, so many characters and dancers.

We stayed right in front of the castle for the parade which was delayed by about 15 min. DH and I took turns holding our spot while the other went looking in the shops and got snacks. Parade was fantastic as always! Definitely one of the highlights.

Holiday Wishes was awesome!! We got our picture taken around 10pm in Tommorowland and waited about 15 min. Later we went by the photo spot in Adventureland and there was no one around.

There was a small line up for hot chocolate at the Noodle Station, try the Diamond Horsehoe for cocoa and cookies, no lines at all and you can get inside to warm up.

I wasn't feeling well so left around 10:30, DH stayed to see the castle show again but it was cancelled apparently due to ice on the stage.

We didn't do any rides so can't comment on wait times but it didn't seem overly crowded, it was definitely manageable.

We loved it as always and we really went for the live entertainment and all the holiday festivities and thought it was well worth it.

Any questions just ask?

hi:)
I thought we were being herded to tomorrowland are they switching which land we go to,, I kinda like to be were im supposed to be .

Greetings fellow Disney lovers!

This is my first posting here..this community looks absolutely amazing!

I was curious as to if anyone has (1) adult ticket available for tonights (12/16) MVMCP. My wife and son have their tickets...I unfortunately didn't know if I would have to work my night job until just last night and am scrambling to make it their with them (the joys of a crappy job :guilty:). I have seen a few kids tickets for sale, but I don't think that is going to cut it sadly.

Thanks for your time all and happy holidays,
Jeff:earsboy:

PS. Does anyone know if there are folks selling their extra tickets out front (if that is what I have to end up trying)?

Based on my experience, and what others have written, you can go to Tomorrowland, but nothing will be open. Head to Frontierland instead, where thing probably will be open.

Maybe it depends on the night or Sun was a fluke but they were definitely pointing everyone towards Liberty Square/Frontierland.

We did see one lady trying to seel her tickets. A couple in their party had cancelled.

We were there last Friday and they hearded everyone into Liberty square. We were able to see the countrybears while we waited.

At what time does Disney start "herding"......I am guessing about 6:30. Is that correct?

I was there 12/9 and tried to get into Tomorrowland at 5:50 they would not let us and informed us that Liberty Square was the only area really open. This turned out not to be true as the Frontierland attractions were running. We were able to get into Tommorland around 6:40 and waited for Space Mountain to open.

We are not going till Dec 2006, but love to read all your excitement :jumping1: We went last year on a Tuesday it was a great night to go, not to crowded, but Thursday was :earseek: Try to go early in the week if at all possible. I wish I was going with all of you

Hello kyprincess!!! I have been reading these boards for several months and you are the first person I have ran into from Kentucky. I am also from Kentucky. I live in Hindman, Kentucky which is Southeast.

My DD and I will also be at WDW during Christmas 2006. It would be great if we meet each other. We have been to WDW twice and we have done the MNSSHP, but this will our first time at the parks during Christmas. We are so excited. We almost cancelled once, but decided not to. We are going to Southern California from June 16-25, 2006 and of course plan do DL and the 50th Anniversary Party. Originally the DL and WDW were our two vacations for 2006, which is what we usually do. However, several of our friends have gone on Disney Cruises and they loved them. They convinced me to do the September 16-23, 2006 Double Dip Western Carribean Cruise. When we booked the cruise the plan was to hold off on the WDW Christmas trip until December 2007. That was just too far off for me. My DD and I discussed it and we decided that we would rather cut back on some of the extras (movies, eating out, etc.) next year, and ago ahead and do all three trips. You might say that we are Disney Addicts!!!

Anyway, I am glad to see someone from Kentucky on the board and I really hope we run into each other at the World!!!!!!!

I'm sure this has been posted somewhere in this thread, but here goes:

we're going to the 12/20 party and have heard you can get in early with your party tix. Just how early can I expect to get in when I arrive?

We were planning on leaving our hotel at around 4:30 or 5:00 and heading on over (no too far from BWV where we're staying). Can we expect to be let in at that time??

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Just got back last night and we did our first-ever MVMCP on Tue, Dec 13. For the money, I didn't think this was worth it. If our kids were older and could stay later (they're only 5 and 2), it might be worth it. The timing of everything doesn't seem very well thought out. Fireworks are over at 9:30, then the show in front of the castle doesn't start til 10:00. Not really much you can do in 1/2 hour except sit there-- which we chose not to given our kids ages and the chilling temps. Lines for hot choc and cookies were horrendous-- give something away at Disney and the people will be there, no doubt. :)

Our best night by far was seeing the Osbourne Lights at MGM, then heading over to the 8:15 Candlelight Processional and Illuminations...... all of which were free.

I was there too on the 13th. This is like the 4th year I have gone. I noticed how they spaced things closer together this year. I remember the first parade being sooner in the evening not up so close to the fireworks. I remember being able to ride rides during the first parade then having lots of time to get to a fireworks spot. Not so this year. I had to get my fireworks spot picked while the parade was going on. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Another thing photo spot was not on the map. So we didnt see it until later in the evening but the line moved fast.

I've read numerous times that you can enter with just your MVMCP tickets at 4pm - (but not a minute earlier). I also read that there are special lines open for MVMCP party goers. Hope this helps. If I can get everybody else in my group on the ball, we'll be arriving at the gate at 4:00. Our party will consist of me (gray-haired grandma), my daughter (dark short hair - really pretty), her fiancee (in wheelchair - very handsome), and my 14-year-old granddaughter (very short hair - really cute). :cloud9: Say "hi" if you see us there.

Yes it is true about 4 PM. We went on 12/01 and entered just after 4 PM. We quickly headed to Thunder Mountain were we only waited a few minutes to get on the ride, yeah! We had dinner reservations for LTT at 5:40 so we just shopped a little then checked in for dinner.

went to 3 of the partys this month. Got all my free pics in the mail in 1 week. They are all great too!

We will be attending the MVMCP on the 20th (our first :cool1: )! I was wondering? Does it only "snow" on Main street during the parades??

I was only on Main Street twice. It was snowing both times. The first time was right before the 1st parade, and the other was at 11:45. I assumed it was snowing all night long.
