Quick note, my Mom had a TIA (mini stoke) Monday morning. Really scary! She had to be flown by helicopter to Albany Med. She's doing well. Never a dull moment! Oh Baby do I need this vacation!!!!

Nice to hear from you,Betty! The hard rock is a favorite spot for our family- we stayed there last year and had the best time! It really is the best hotel, as it is closest to the parks- you will have so much fun!!! As hard as it is for me to hear-- the kids say they liked universal more than disney.... they do have fun rides-- but the atmosphere does not compare IMO

This will be our very first trip to Universal, and its all because of Harry Potter. My daughters call Universal "the axis of evil" , because it isn't Disney - they may end of changing their mind!

Once they see that pool at the HRH, and explore Harry Potter...I think they will change their mind....and it is so awesome to get the front of the line passes-- you literally walk on most of the rides as many times as you want...disney loses some points there-- and in that August heat- you can't beat it

Have fun- and read up on the Universal thread if you haven't done so- I got great tips on how best to attack the parks there

After going through a layoff, and being offered a different job at the last minute....things happen for a reason- so hopefully this will all work out for you....

I'm alive, barely! Thanks for all your well wishes for Mom. She is doing really, really well. Me, not so much! I haven't packed a thing since July 27th! And my family isn't helping, shocking I know. It's All Hands on Deck for us this week or someone is walking the plank!

Joe, sorry to hear about the lay off. Been there, done that. Sucks! I here by suspend you with pay! Collect unemployment and sail the caribbean!!

Fortunately my last day is scheduled for August 26th I should know on Friday afternoon or before next Monday whether I got the new position

No worries everyone, the School District is actually my second job. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the extra pay because it helps pay for college and DCL

DW went to D.C. this morning for a conference. She returns tomorrow night No bags are packed I will pull the luggage out as soon as I get home so that I can start getting ready

After forcing the kids to get packed, each one of them has chores to do I hate coming home from vacation where they clean the rooms daily, only to come home to a cluttered home

Afternoon flight gets into MCO at 4:00 p.m. on Friday
