We have early dinner seating, too.

I talked to Warren about the possibility of not spending the night at my mom's and leaving for the port in morning but instead spending half the day with her and the kids and then heading to the Radisson. He loved the idea. No convincing needed.

Since there are only two of us, I booked the "Hot Deal" rate. You're guaranteed a room but you don't know which one until you get there. It includes parking and shuttle but no breakfast. The breakfast is 8.99 a person, much cheaper than I thought it would be.

Corinna, did you call the Radisson about your shuttle arrangements? I called for our shuttle reservation. I'm nervous about getting dropped from the list or having some other mix up like last time.

Not yet. I came back from Germany on Wednesday night and have been on the graveyard shift yesterday and the same again today. I am off over the weekend so I will try to ring them then.
My fish extender was mailed on July 12th. I will head to the mail box on the way to work and I hope that it is there.

FINALLY!!!!! Our passports came in the mail today!!!!! I kept checking the website and there was no record of them! Got me worried, that was my original birth certificate I had to give up and didnt' want anything to happen to that. Needless to say I was very pleased to see two priority mail envelopes in my stack of mail when I got home.

(Sorry Hayley, no FE yet).

Patricia- Congrats on getting your passports....one less worry is always good!:yay:

Tony and Stephanie- Your pictures from your last cruise are BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing!:thumbsup2

We filled out our cruise docs on the Disney cruise site tonight. Printed the page we have to sign and got that in our file for the trip!!!! 7 weeks from tonight I'll be double checking everything as we leave Saturday am. I can't wait!

Does anyone know the people count for the FE exchange? My last day at Universal is coming up and I was thinking I might do a little shopping. Not Disney I know :guilty:

Congrats on the FE and passports!!

I have to admit I am not a big fan of the Harleys. I have a strong dislike for the loud ones. Sorry. I live in a rural area and every once in a while we get the bikers taking a nice ride in the country. Oh and the cars with all the bass! You can feel it in your car when they are behind you. Enough of Mary's pet peeves. Who would have thought the lady with 6 kids likes it quiet? :ssst:

Mary,

Right now there are seven of us in the FE exchange. Not sure of who is in what stateroom (since not everyone has gotten that number yet). The list is on the first post (thanks to Hayley for keeping this up to date).

I know what you mean about the noise on the bikes and cars. Hubby's bike isn't loud, but he'd like to get some louder pipes and the only reason is so that others know you are there. With motorcycles being so small compared to a car, that's one of the only ways some cars 'see' them. But I hate being stuck at a light and my car vibrating from the NOISE of the neighboring car's stereo!

50 more days until the Sail Away Party! :yay: :boat:

:offtopic: I am going to try getting out the of country again next weekend (fingers crossed). We are planning on going to Amsterdam. Has anyone been there and would like to share some tips? We get in at 820am Sat and leave 155pm Sunday so we will have one full day to explore. I am not a meusum person but I LOVE history and would like to see the Anne Frank house. Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated if anyone has any to share. :listen:

That must be a HUGE relief.

Tough on the body, isn't it? I don't mind third shift when I'm doing it, but the older I get the harder it is to bounce back the next day. Having only started drinking coffee a couple years ago, I now understand why people become dependent on it.

Our stateroom is 6587. Hayley, please update the list for me.

Thanks,
Monica

Hi,

We are in Stateroom 5522 (Karen, Mark (hubbie), Josh (son, 4) and Korey (son, will be 2 in August)....Hayley, would you please add us also to the beginning of the list for the fish extender exchange! :thumbsup2
Our party took up four of the secret porthole rooms on this cruise! I loved having the window to look out (ok, partially look out :rotfl2:) on our last cruise on the Wonder in 2007!

I actually quite like the graveyard shift as I have all morning to do stuff. Now that I usually car share with a colleague I no longer have to worry about being on public transport in the middle of the night. The only thing I have a problem with if I go from the graveyard shift to a 9:00 am start because I have been rostered for training or something like this. Then I need a coffee so strong that it would give me problems under normal circumstances.
Anyway, I just rang the Radisson and we are on the 10 am shuttle. They only had 10:00, 10:30 and 11:00 left. Good job that it was the 10:00 am one I was after anyway. We have decided that we probably will have breakfast at the hotel after all.
Could I please ask everybody in the Fish Extender exchange again what their favourite Disney character is and the favourite colour for any females in your party. I seriously need to start making stuff.

Corinna

I will indeed update the list :)

I have been to Amsterdam and love it there! I recommend the Heineken Museum (not a museum as such) in Heinekenplein (you can catch the bus from near Centraal Station) and it's about 5mins on the bus. Costs around 10E to get in, and you get 3 drinks vouchers with that and a free gift! It's really good! If the kids are going, they can get soft drinks with their vouchers and there are stuff they can do to keep them occupied too, check out their website. If I could recommend one thing except for Anne Frank, this would be it!

The Anne Frank House is really nice and humbling, especially if you have read the book - it's strange going behind the bookcase and seeing where the family stayed and walking where they walked.

We went to Madame Tussads waxworks on Dam Square which is fun!

Take a cruise on one of the little canal boats - there are loads, you just choose on Dam Square and they don't cost much at all - around 6E per person and they take you all around the canals and show you the some quirky bits of Amsterdam you wouldn't have seen yourself. Even a little jaunt through the Red Light District.

Lots of beautiful old churches in Amsterdam too :) Lots of people talk about the floating Chinese restaurant there, but the food is expensive and not that good.

Oh, Corinna, my fave characters are Eeyore, Luigi from Cars and Jack Skellington. My new fave character is Wall-E - he is the CUTEST EVER! My fave colour is pink :teeth:

DBF's fave character is Donald - he is easy to please

Thank you Hayley SO much for those tips! You don't know how appreciated they are! No kiddies this trip....just my brother and myself. :) The one thing I keep having a hard time with is the money exchange rate. I look at prices and think that it isn't so bad and then I remember I have to just about double the cost for me!

Corinna, I think you have us done since you were teaseing me before. hehe:cutie: However, I'll go ahead and tell you our favorites : I actually have many favorites but of course Tinkerbell is more like me or should I say I'm more like her? Christopher's favorite is Dale (from Chip and Dale), Chase loves Lightining McQueen, My mother loves Pocohantas, and her boyfriend I'm not sure has a favorite character....I pick Grumpy for him since he tends to have the same personality at times :rotfl: (really, we do love him:) ). He is a chef so he might also like Remy :confused3 Favorite colors for the girls would be blue for me and orange for my mother. I have to say my mother is technolically challenged (doesn't own a computer) and therefore you won't find her on these boards, however, I have told her all about you all and the conversations we have and she is just as excited to meet all of you as I am. :)

Just a side note, when we first started this posting I had told you all that my boys grandfather had prostate cancer. Well he has been treated and tested again and the cancer is gone! :woohoo: :yay: I just thought I would share the happiness w/ all of you. :)

Patricia, I'm glad you have your passports! (yes, I'm a little late on commenting...just pretend I'm saying this a few days ago  ) I felt so proud when I first got our passports last year. It was almost a feeling of freedom knowing now I could travel anywhere. Now if I could just get a stamp in it! hehe

That is such good news that the boys' grandfather has been given the all clear.

I have the (little) gentlemen in your party sorted out, but I figured I wanted to do something Disney related for the ladies as well. After all, we are on a Disney Cruise.

I have finally come up with something for the Fish Extender exchange for the cruise on the Magic. I have to make 106 gifts for that:eek: I got some letter beads spelling out the word "Magic" and some firepolished glass beads as accents. I will make a cellphone/bag charm for each stateroom. With this amount of people participating, I can only make one gift per stateroom unlike our cruise where I will do something for everybody participating.

I had a cruise booked that had a stop there. I decided that after doing Paris in April I wasn't going overseas again until the dollar gained some value. I was going to go to the Van Gough museum and Anne Frank house while I was there. My sister on the other hand planned to spend the day in a local cafe ;) I hope you have a blast! Take pics!

Corinna, I thought I had my hands full with 7! I can't imagine doing 106! You have some great ideas! I hope your fish extender will hold 106 people giving you gifts. hehe
Mary, I can't wait to go to Amsterdam! I have never been out of the country before and can't wait to enjoy the experience! I will be sure to take pictures!
Hayley, I told my brother your ideas and he liked them! He has been to Amsterdam before (in fact he has been to 44 countries) so he told me to come up w/ a plan of what I'd like to do and we would do it.

Oh my goodness Corinna, how in the world are you going to do 106 gifts!!??? I've read about some of those very large DIS cruises and sometimes they would divide up the numbers. I think that would of been a good idea for yours. As for our favs, I love Pooh and Tink (hubby likes Mickey) and fav color is pink (or turquoise blue)

Dawn,

Yea only 50 days (and counting)!!! You're not late, i just posted yesterday (I think), but it's been busy here today on the list!!! So glad to hear that the boys grandfather is doing so well! That's great news.
I can't wait to get a stamp in our passports. I've read that you can leave them with someone on the ship and they'll get them stamped in Nassau for us (I'll see if I can find more on that). I hope you are able to travel next weekend. Looking forward to hearing about your trip.

Karen, what are the secret porthole rooms?

I hope to get stamps in our passports too! We don't often get stamps since you only get them if you travel outside of the EU - I have one for the US and one for Turkey at the moment.

I have searching for FE gifts all night! I *think* I have everyone sorted now! I just need to buy it!
