Elaina,

Don't mean to scare you. We've used airtran many times without problems, but I've read again and again of flights being cancelled (and not knowing until they get to the airport) and have had time changes before, but never like the one they tried to do to me this time. I know for some it is not possible to fly in the day before, stay at a hotel and then get to the port (all added expenses), so they do this with no problem. I like airtran, but this time, I opted to cancel and get a refund (as we are actually staying at Disney afterwards and got cheaper flights elsewhere).

You didn't scare me as much as make me more alert! I'm just gonna keep checking on our flights and if they change anything I'll just cancel and book with Southwest. I'm sure people have had bad experiences with them as well but I've flown them from Bwi to mco soooo many times and (knock on wood) i've been okay each time!

We're flying in from Maryland. I think our flight is supposed to land around 10 am. We're on airtran so I'm hoping even if something goes wrong with our flight we'll be able to catch another since they usually have flights from bwi to mco every hour or so. But I'm thinking happy thoughts and staying positive that we'll be okay.
Glad to hear you've had good experiences each time!!

ok that is good nice and early. I would go to the airtran site and see if they have flights that leave after yours (although those flights will most likely be full). I have been hearing a lot about airlines changing flights and cutting flights. You could try to cancel with airtran and book with someone else but, I would bet you would pay a bit more. It's worth looking into though.

I love SW. I fly them very often -I fly to RI like 4 or 5 times a year. I find them to have a great ontime record at least with me.

Mary, I told my son you would like to be in on the bet. He said with all the people that want to bet him, he is going to be out a lot of money. I said that is right because your not going to want to give up THIS gift! ;)

I also like flying SW when I can't afford to fly continental. I remember one year for Christmas they put the peanuts on the floor in one big pile at the beginning of the aisle, as the plane took off all the peanuts went sliding down the aisle. The flight attendant got on the speaker and announced they were being lazy due to the holidays and to pick up the peanuts from the aisle and pass them down. :lmao:

Dawn,

this is so funny!!! My daughter flew a lot last year during her CP at Disney and she LOVED SW and always how nice and amusing they were. We've used the a couple times and never had any problems. We are using US(scareways as my dh and ds call it) for our flight down and SW for our return flight. I'm waiting on my $200+ refund from Airtran now from my cancelled flight (actually coming through Bill me later, so it won't go out until next week probably).

lol that is funny.

My DS is going to be 9 on Friday. This is also our last weekend that our Universal passes will be valid. We will be spending the weekend doing that. DH is taking Thursday and Friday off so we can get the last few visits in. What are you all doing for the weekend?

We saw Journey to the Center of the Earth last weekend. We really liked that--it was 3D. DH wants to see Wall E. The Mummy 3 is coming out 8/1 so I am waiting for that lol. Besides I can see Wall E for free come September.:)

Monica,

You were on again after midnight!!!! You have to get to bed earlier when you get home from work, lol, only kidding. 53 days (i think)!!!!!

It's a conspiracy! I know it was 11:59pm. ;)

Christopher saw WallE and really liked it. :thumbsup2
This weekend I am suppose to trap the stray cat and get him neutered, however, all of a sudden I haven't seen him around in a few days. It has been storming every day so I'm really surprised to not see him because he always comes into the garage to get out of the rain. I hope I can take him in when he is scheduled. Keeping my fingers crossed. I also plan to go FE shopping. Next weekend my brother and I are going to try and make it to Amsterdam. Considering I never made it to London, I'll keep my fingers crossed for Amsterdam. :)
Monica, I really don't know how you do it....working all night and taking care of the kids all day. I would be exhausted! You are really going to need to relax in September!
Patricia, I hope you get your refund soon!
Christopher told me today that he hopes when we go on a Disney Cruise that I won't tell him about it because he would explode w/ anticpation! (We were watching a WDW advertisement which brought up the conversation) I'm so excited I can't stand it!

It's not as strenuous as it sounds. It's and easy job, I work 3 or 4 nights in a week, and usually I'm only away from home for 4 to 6 hours including commute time. Start times are what makes a difference. Tonight, for example, we had a job a half hour from my house. I left at 6:30 and was home by midnight. I go to bed at midnight even when I'm not working. On the other hand, some nights really take their toll. Coming in at 2 or 3 in the morning is rough. Those days require an afternoon nap! I couldn't do this if my kids weren't really cooperative about starting their morning routine without me and not waking me up in the morning if I need to sleep or not keeping me up when I need a short afternoon nap. Also, I submit my availability three weeks in advance. If I know something's coming up, like VBS next week, I won't request to be scheduled to work.

Ditto on that!

These stories of Christopher are hilarious. He has no idea how much he's setting himself up. You should start taping now. This would make great footage , like you're making a documentary of Christopher's first Disney Cruise.

Hi Everyone!!!!

I am very excited, I went to Target today and found an over the door organizer that will work as a Fish Extender.......so, Yes! We will definitely participate which will make my 4 year old very happy!!!

I am going to try hard to post a picture of the organizer using one of the picture sites that Patricia suggested.....this organizer would work well for the non-handy types like myself!!! I'm trying to think of how to disney-fy it and I'm thinking puffy paint or something like that!!! But, not very talented in the creative department, so don't laugh when you see it! :rotfl:

Still not sure if the rest of the other families in my party will participate (thinking not), but when I talked with my husband, he said my 4 year old would love it, it sounds like fun, and I should go for it!!! Anybody willing to share what they're planning on giving out? Or, are we going for the surprise factor here? :rolleyes1

Okay very excited today.....thanks for letting me ramble!!!

Ok, my hubby's been lurking here and he thinks you all need to talk some more so he has something to read while he's at work, lol. :lmao: I think he forgets that some of us can't be on the dis every hour, (only kidding honey).

Also, hubby has a harley (which I FINALLY got to ride on Sunday!!!). he wants to know if we have any other 'riders' here and if so, what do they ride?

Yea Karen, so glad you were able to get something to use as a FE!!! I am working on a couple of ideas, but have only gotten one tiny thing.

I intend to go shopping this weekend for everyone so I hope I have everyone accounted for ;) (I have Karen added to the list! Still waiting to see if Tony is participating).
Monica, I am glad you are so amused by Christopher. He really cracks me up. Glad you are getting enough rest too!
Patricia, I must admit I am not much of a harley person.....I am a crotch rocket person. I love speed more than cruiseing (in fact Chase use to tell everyone he came to school in an airplane but don't tell anyone :rotfl: )
I had two drug reps in the kitchen here at work today....one just came back from a Disney cruise and the other went on a Disney cruise a couple of years ago. Of course they had great things to say and I was told to definitly get into Palos! They were all teasing me too for my "Passporter" and all the tabs I have marking the important stuff. What do they know! This isn't just a vacation....it is an adventure! Simpletons! :rotfl:
Everyone have a great Thursday!

Here's pictures of the "fish-extender" I picked up at Target!!

I think this is going to work!

Good thinking, Karen. I was wondering about doing the same kind of thing, myself since I have something like that from my teaching days. It has zippered compartments but the pockets are just like those in your picture.

I'm not telling what I'm bringing for the FE's. Probably, because I really don't know yet. Nothing that will melt, break, spoil, fail a drug or weapons checkpoint, cause passersby to avert their gaze or hide their children's eyes, or bark.

Monica,

You are so funny!!!! :rotfl:

Yep! Only $4.99 at Target......but, not as pretty as some of the Disney designed ones.......hoping to spice it up though a bit! :)

here is a question for everyone. I read on another trip report that they are doing a "secret mickey" (like a secret santa). Everyone writes down their likes and then everyone throws their name in the preverbal hat and then you get matched w/ one person to buy for. Would everyone like to do something like that or just everyone gets something for everyone that is participating?
