The DW and I will be participating in the FE gift exchange....I thought I wrote that in a post before I left on a business trip....so sorry for getting it up there with only 48 DAYS TO GO!!!!! I too am getting excited if you couldnt tell!!!! Another thing for those of you getting last min. FE together that works really well from a friend who recently went on a cruise is the Disney Nursery Organizers. They already come pre decorated with all the Disney characters on them, but because originally you are supposed to put diapers, wipes, etc. in them they have zippers on each compartment. If you have trouble finding them you could always go to your local scrapbook store and pick up a multitude of Disney items to put on each pocket of the ones from Target. We are also having early dinner and would highly recommend eating early as the entertainment schedule for the evening has more "playtime" available to do what you want instead of taking the only available options due to time.
Karen...I noticed you were from illinois...what part? We are from central illinois around Peoria. Didnt know if we might be flying down together on the same flight!!!! I've been reading between work and didnt see if anyone ever answered your question about PALO reservations. You can and should book them on line. Once aboard they have all the "fun" paperwork, safety drills, reservations, etc. meetings before we pull out of port. Last time the PALO reservations were being taken in Wavebands (Deck 3 Midship just to the right of the atrium when you enter. You'll know you are heading in the right direction by the carpeting that has a roadmap for a pattern) once in line there you can change or make any available reservations for PALO. As long as you get one in online you can always change it without losing it, but i saw a few sad faces for the people that waited til the boarded to try to make one and they were booked solid. The other thing I would suggest, you only have to have one person from a stateroom present to do some of the reservations, so to cover more ground for that hour or so the DW and I try to divide and conquer by spliting up we can be in two lines at once for our stateroom and get more reservations made/adjusted.
As for the surprise with christopher....I would totally recommend (especially if he thinks hes going to seaworld/aquaworld) the Dolphin encounter in Nassau...he is expecting to get to slide down a water slide that goes through a tank of dolphins...how bout getting to pet, dance, swim, hug and kiss a dolphin...My DW still talks about it a year later!!! you get to stand on a platform in the water about waist/chest high and the dolphins come right up to you by direction from the trainers. According to DCL.com the excursion costs Adult:$99 (ages 10 and up) Child :$84 (ages 3-9). There is a huge wall of celebrities that have come down and taken the same excusion...Shaq, Cindy Crawford, Charles Barkley, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan...many many more..anyways so they tape you while you are interacting with the dolphins and you can buy the video....way way way expensive...or you can get a photo in a photo card holder of you with the dolphin and its like $15 for the photo...well my wife and I were unaware as they do not tell you this ahead of time that you have to pay cash (
DCL room card does not work at this excursion) so we had $15 in cash on us. The guy showing us the photos saw were were trying to decide between two photos but couldnt, so he took us on the side and said if we paid him the $15 we could have both pictures since it was our honeymoon...we have both of them up in our home office

Just a side idea if the Atlantis thing doesnt work out.
My DCL travel tip for the day would have to be on security...Every DCL stateroom comes with a safe to place your valuables in which has a magnetic strip reader as the locking mechanism. They have a little directional card on the top of the safe saying to use your DCL room card to lock/unlock the safe.
Since I felt that if someone were per chance not as "honest" as everyone in the wonderful world of Disney and were to find your card...they now have access to your room and your safe!!!! Scrooge McDuck would have a fit!!! LOL. So instead a handy little bit of info comes in handy....ANY...and I mean ANY card with a magnetic strip can be used as your secure lock or unlock on the safe....so I would suggest stopping by wal-mart before your trip and pick up an unloaded gift card from the check out. Lock your safe with it and hide the gift card someplace in your room where only you will no it is, that way even if someone were to find your DCL room key...they cant get in your safe, and if someone was to find your
walmart gift card in your room (they wont know what its for since they wouldnt think to use it to unlock your safe!!!).
