I will be up bright and early tomorrow as I start working out to get in shape for this cruise (and mainly for our vow renewal).

Did you do it? Did you get up bright and early and work out? Go the extra mile for me because I give up. After 23 years of off and on working out, I realize if I don't belong to a gym, it's not going to happen. I have a treadmill and weights (thanks to Freecycle) but I just can't seem to carve out the time. I'm fine for a week and let it go the next. I can blame it on homeschooling and scouts and running the co-op but seriously, what am I doing right now? I've been on the Disboard for the last 40 minutes at least. I'll probably be online a couple hours. I could be walking on my treadmill, doing some sit-ups, or lifting weights.

I did do it!!!! I got up this am and went to the Y and did the treadmill. Thought I better start small, it's been a while since I've been there. BUT!!!!!! I am getting up again tomorrow and going!!!!! I am going to do this! (now ask me that in a week :lmao: , but for now, it sounds good).

That is a great passport story and someone has offered to do the same thing for me if I just get it signed!! Small town living (where he is) and everyone just knows everyone else.

I affectionatly nicknamed my X pita many many years ago....pain in the ace.:rotfl: If he can made if difficult and make me request something from him over and over and over again...he will. He won't let his son miss a vacation but getting me what I need in a timely manner without a million emails....well, that might be a different story. I'm putting my mom on this task. He still "loves" her.

I hope they still do the cha cha slide...it was big the last couple of times we've been there. The song is out on itunes. It's pretty simple and you just follow the instructions...slide to the left, slide to the right, three hops. It's elementary but I'm easily entertained. It's all about having fun.

Good for you Patricia! Keep up the good work!

What time is everyone planning on getting to the port? I have read so many trip reports in which people are (for lack of a better word) obsessed with getting there as early as possible. I have our family on the 10am shuttle. What are your thoughts and plans?

Oh, yeah. I remember doing that. Very easy.

Dawn,

we are flying in the night before (don't have hotel yet) but are renting a car and either driving to the port and staying there for the night (hampton inn maybe) or if dd isn't able to go on the cruise, we may go visit her and go to disney for the day on Saturday (but this is all still up in the air).

And I went to the y again today!!!! woo hoo, I am tickled that I've gotten up and gone two days in a row. Sad though that I am looking forward to Friday since the y is closed and I am off, so I can sleep in and NOT get up and work out, :rotfl:

I am so not coordinated and have never really danced as I feel awkward trying and feel like i look like a fool. I did do some salsa dance workouts last spring and learned a few steps with that, but I'd love to be able to do a little dancing on the cruise (hubby would like that too, being he likes to dance.)

I always look like a fool. I just don't care. :rotfl:

:lmao:
thank you for saying that, maybe i'll get some nerve up and 'try' to dance, :rotfl2:

Well tell everyone your creating a new step and if their "cool" they'll follow along. ;) :dance3:

Thanks for telling me the moves! I know that cha cha song....we do it at our company parties (all the more funnier when you have had a few:lmao:) so I think I might actually have a clue for a change. :rotfl:

Is it September yet? AGH! We still have two more seasons! :sad2:

Me, too. I dance with my kids in the kitchen otherwise..... Dancing with myself..oh, oh, dancing with myself..Well, there's nothing to lose and there's nothing to prove...I'll be dancing with myself

Maybe, I'll take another shot at the exercise thing. I wish I was the type of person who enjoyed it. The truth is I started working out when I was 18 for reasons of vanity but later it became a matter of pain management. When I was 21 I had a car accident(my fault, no drinking or drugs involved, just rookie driving error) that resulted injuries requiring physical therapy. Unfortunately, without the car, I had no way to get to therapy. I healed from the injuries but ever since I've had trouble with my back.

The only effective prevention and treatment I found over the years are my Nikkin pads (prevents stiffness) and more importantly weight training. When I'm fit, I'm pain-free. (I can slack off for only so long before I start having problems again.) And speaking of fit, I wouldn't mind if my jeans didn't fit so tight!

Patricia, if you, or anyone else wants to be accountability partners, I would appreciate it. We don't have to have the same goals but we could help keep each other accountable to our individual goals.

I would love to do this. I have a friend who is working out with me right now, but being accountable to someone else will make me keep to this when my friend has to travel (she travels for work a good amount).

I went to the y again this am and we did the eliptical machine to warm up and then all the 'machines' working all those muscles I forgot i even had. I feel good *until I stand up and feel those muscles in my legs* but this too will pass.

My immediate goals are to just try to 'get in shape' I've always been over weight and am not expecting miracles, but if i work out, i am sure i will start to feel better and a bonus i may look better. and with us doing our vow renewal on the cruise, i would love to look better.

feel free to pm me if you want to do something accountablity wise and we can do emails if you don't want to post on the cruise thread.

Oooo....listen to all the exercise motivation going on!! Woo Hooo!! I love hearing that stuff. I'm a gym nut and work out religiously 6 days a week. I don't work out hard...it's more of a mental thing for me. Always believed that some movement is better than no movement. I'll cheer you girls on!! :cheer2:

As for port arrivals...I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. I've done the morning of, I've done the night before, private transportation, rental car and Disney shuttle. I just haven't figured it out for this trip. Both times though....I've always been on the boat by 1pm. It truly is nice getting there early, having lunch and enjoying the pool.

thanks for cheering us on, my dd is a workout nut and she can't stand going to the y with dh because he's only there for an hour and she warms up for an hour (she said, haha) but she does easily spend 2 hours there.

I'll also be glad to cheer you guys on. :cheer2: It is easier to have the motivation to work out when you have someone nudgeing you along. The boys and I go bike riding every evening. They wouldn't dare miss that and it is hard to say no to those cute little blue eyes! Not to mention it is just down right fun! ::yes:: I know the other thing that personally helps me is competition (when it is for fun). Two of my coworkers and I are in a challenge right now to see who can lose more weight. The winner gets paid a dollar a pound. It definitly helps with incentive (especially when those darn cookies and bread look SO tasty!:rotfl: )
Anyone else watch the dining section of the Disney Cruise ship DVD and get hungry?

I'll also be glad to cheer you guys on. :cheer2:

thanks so much. I worked out again this am and I also swam i think 12 laps, i lost count haha... oh well. I am feeling muscles I didn't know existed right now, but in the end, this will pay off, I am sure.

I learned from a personal trainer that fat is actually burned inside muscle....so the more muscle you have the more fat you burn. It definitly is worth working the muscles! Great job again! :cheer2:
I have been walking the stairs at work, all 7 flights, since January. I think I'm finally starting to be able to make it to the top without blacking out. :lmao:
