Yes, but for me, 3 months is better than 6 when counting down! Being my first cruise, I can't do anything until June 24th. :sad2:

That is so true, three months sounds so much better than six right now. The only reason we can do stuff sooner is because of our vow renewal, that puts us on the 105 day mark to make reservations.

Sorry you have to wait til the 24th of June :sad2:

I think I'm going to borrow Patricia's idea and Ebay some things. It really is so time consuming, and the fees add up quickly. Is it really possible to make any money if you're not a power seller? I pass the post office almost every day so I don't mind that part. No gas wasted.

I was wondering the same thing the other day when I sold a .99 book and thought, I'm not making anything here. But like you, I don't waste gas going to the post office (it is at the end of our block). I keep an excel file of all my items, each fee charged and the end result (profit) and I can say I've made over $250 in less than a month. I've put all that on my cruise.

So, I can say, yes, I am making some money but certainly not a LOT but right now, every penny made is money I didn't have and it's not like I am doing ebay and not doing my real job that I get a paycheck for.

well better get another hour sleep before i really have to start my day.

A spreadsheet, a good idea. Pennies make dollars. Craigslist is another place I've sold things. It's hit or miss, though.

update on Disney costume ideas. I just remembered I bought dd a princess dress at Ollie's a couple years ago. It was too big and I put it in a trunk or a box. Oldest Ds wants to go as Troy or a member of the Wild Cats team from High School Musical. That's not as easy to find for a boy taller than his mother. Middle ds has this Colonial looking outfit he has to wear next month when he and dd present flowers to the DAR president. Is there a Disney character who is a little boy from the 18th century?

HOpe you are having a good weekend!

HOpe you are having a good weekend!

There is Michael, the little boy in Mary Poppins, Huck Finn, Davy Crockett, Travis from Old Yeller, Francis, Fritz, or Enrst in Swiss Family Robinson, and I'm not sure if it is 18th century but there is Jim Hawkins in Treasure Island. I hope any of those will be helpful. :)

We are going to the hockey game tonight. It will be Christopher's 1st so I'm excited about it. I have my lightening jersey ready to go! hehe I hope you have a great weekend also!

Welcome aboard Kasey! For many of us, including myself, it is our first time cruiseing also. We are all in this together!

Patricia, I feel like I'm in an episode of the twlight zone where the time never changes. :lmao:

Welcome to the board Kasey! This is the best place to be to get ready for your first Disney Cruise. This cruise will be dh and my third but our first without the kids. Every minute on Disboard is time well spent.

How was everyone's weekend? Tink, how did the hockey game go?

The hockey game was GREAT! We won 3-0. One of the best saves I had ever seen came when the goal tender was away from the net, the opposing team took a shot, and another player dove in the way and stopped the puck with his body. You know that had to hurt! It was awesome! We were with Big Brother's and Big Sisters so they showed us on the jumbo tron. Christopher thought that was incrediably cool. Chris said that I need to get him his own hockey jersey now. :) Chase had such a great time spending the night with his best friend that when I came to get him he said "Mommy I told you not to pick me up!" Today we just hung out at home. We rode our bikes and I mowed the lawn pondering why weeds grow faster and better than my grass. :upsidedow How was everyone elses weekend?

Kasey,

Welcome to you and Matt. Many of us are first time Disney cruisers here, so we are learning together. We have formed a Yahoo group to discuss things in a private setting and getting to know each other.

How was everyone elses weekend?

I truly think the weekends go so much faster than the week days. It is so unfair. I scrapped yesterday (which I try to do every Saturday, maybe some year I will actually catch up). Today was DD 20th birthday! My princess is so grown up. Well I am going to bed soon, I am exhausted and not even sure why, but I will be up bright and early tomorrow as I start working out to get in shape for this cruise (and mainly for our vow renewal).

Patricia, Happy Birthday to your daughter?:cake: Where does the time go?:confused3

Thanks so much Dawn, I honestly don't know where the time goes. I am so glad I stayed home when they were small. Now that they are older, I am glad they can stay home so we can go on our special trip!!!!

Sorry...I'm a little slow to respond. Yes, it's just me and my son who will be cruising. I have just today printed off all the forms for our passports. We've been traveling in the past without them and this year we are forced. Now all I need to do is get the consent form signed by the EX-hub which is not going to be an easy task.

Time is going to fly....before you know it we'll all be doing the cha cha slide at the sail away party!!:woohoo:

Do you have a legal document from your divorce stating you have custody? If so, you don't need his signature. I was never married and have always had sole custody but because I had nothing in writing, I STILL had to get the ex's signature. :headache: I was really worried but he got it done (400 calls later  )

How do you do the cha cha slide? I should start practiceing! :dance3:

I hope your ex doesn't give you any trouble with this. I hope he's not the type to be difficult just to get under your skin.

I have a passport story for you. This isn't the same thing but it's just something I'll never forget. When we applied for the kids' passports a few years ago, it was the day before a BIG increase in fees, but for some reason, dh couldn't be with me for it. We knew we had to have a letter of some sort so dh just scrawled me a letter of consent. As you can expect, when I got to the post office (small town type where the old postmistress knows everyone by name) to apply, the postmistress said, "You know this letter has to be notarized." I didn't know. "Oh, crap," I'm thinking. She says, "You're in luck, though, because I can notarize this. I said, "but Warren's (dh) not here to sign anything." So, she looks at me kind of conspiratorally, looks around, and says to me, "Who signs his signature on everything?" I was speechless. I knew what she was saying but I'm thinking, this is a federal offense! Oh, well. She hands me the forms and a pen, and I say aloud to no one in particular, since no one was in the room but her and me, "Okay, I'll just take this out to the car for Warren to sign." She says, "Just use the desk over there." I filled it out and signed and she proceeds with having me swear whatever I'm supposed to swear and notarizes the letter of consent. Four weeks later, the kids' passports arrived in the mail. I miss living in that town. The people were so "real".
