Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, Oct 30th,2010 Magical Western NewTR link 4/10

We had a great time at Nachi!

I was perfectly happy sitting on my lounge chair, reading my kindle, while our fantastic waiter just kept bringing me stuff. I started running out of drink ideas, so he just began surprising me with different ones he thought I might like.

My Michael is a real food daredevil too.....he had the cheeseburger!

Mike and I both had the fajitas. Allison had something they called a fried chicken taco, which turned out to be taquitos. Pretty good.

On the way there and back, DH was hanging out of the taxi so he could get a glimpse of all the classic VW's that were EVERYWHERE on the streets. His first car was a yellow 1973 super beetle convertible and he is a big fan....there is currently a red beetle darkening my garage waiting for the day when he has the time and funds to restore it.

I have decided in the next life, I want to come back as one of your children: SB at night, room service, bubble bath, limo.....I am not even to the cruise yet. If you ever want to adopt a fairly cute and petite 42 y/o Jew who can drink with the best of them, I am your girl. :flower3:

Onto the cruise baybee! :woohoo:

As you can probably gather from my join date and number of posts - I've been a serious lurker with not much to say. :) I just stop by as I plan trips and gather all the useful information and then go away again.

We are planning a cruise (in two years :rotfl2: but here I am) and I am loving the trip reports. Yours is my favorite - in such a big way - that I have crawled out from under my rock and wanted to say "Thank you" for the cruise insight, the humor, the entertainment, and the food porn. :yay:

Impatiently but happily waiting for the next installment - popcorn::

WOW...I am SO HONORED!!! And SO FLATTERED!!! If you were trying to make me feel really, really, really special- well- GREAT JOB!! You have!!

I am so glad you like my TR- thanks for crawling out from under your rock....I hope you'll do so more often. :goodvibes If you have any specific cruise questions, ask away!! I think it is a fantastic way to vacation, I am ALL FOR IT! :yay:

You're welcome! But it was Ron! ;) I guess I probably pushed it though! :lmao:

Well then, THANKS RON!!!!!

Bwahahaha the taxi ride, OMG I forgot how hilarious our taxi ride was!!!:lmao:

Can't wait to hear about that!

Oh thanks so much! Your pics are better than mine!!! I have quite a collection going of other people's pictures from this cruise!!! :cutie:

How did you take pictures?? You had Sarah-no-nap screaming at you!!:scared1:

Sarah, man she needed to take a nap *SO* bad but just wouldn't. I eventually gave up trying to coax her into one, much to everyone's relief I'm sure! :rolleyes1

Well, as long as it wasn't 6 am, none of us care too much...other than feeling so bad for you guys!

LOL, so true. you guys were far to the left in front of the pool, we were situated pretty dead center, and Ellen was at the faaaar right end of the beach.

Yea, we were waaaaaaaay at the other end- but it was the closest one in the front row, and that mattered to me alot. Besides, Brendan found us in like 3 minutes, so we must not have been further than a 3 minute walk! :rotfl:

Awww! Bambi!!!! Beautiful!!!!

We have deer in a little conservation woods that backs up to our neighborhood. Unfortunately it also backs up to one of the busiest 6-lane highways in Tampa. They don't come out much unless it is really cold, but it's funny cause we have a county park about 1/2 mile down the road and they will literally walk down the street to the park! Sadly more than one has meet their end on that road, including one of the mamas. :sad2:

Kara just hit one- I've hit one...it really, really stinks. I cried like a lunatic- it was during mating season near Princeton, I was on a sales call. Ugh. I wanted to have the cop call an ambulance and take her to the vet. Just a little delusional! I was late to the client, but I got the account (no doubt due to my snotty nose and bloodshot eyes!). :drive::sad:
Nice looking 8 point buck (each prong on both antlers are counted). Our yard is full of deer tracks, but we don't see them that often. A couple of weeks ago we were going out our driveway after dark & a deer ran across the drive in front of our car!:scared1: That got old heart pumping.

Well thanks for eductaing me! But that totally makes sense! DUH!!!
Up next ............. popcorn::

Love the update so far! Cozumel, well, the beach looks wonderful! Love the food! :thumbsup2

Can't wait for another update! And to stick with the time theme ....... it's nearly midnight here and I have to catch a little sleep!

Hope to read more in the morning! :thumbsup2

You? Love the food? Who would have thought? :rotfl: You are the QUEEN of FOOD PORN- so, I am so happy you are enjoying it! I will try to put another post up for your breakfast, my friend!

Is the place that you went to in Cozamel part of Disney? When we went there it was to a national park with an Aztec sounding name. It was quite beautiful, but one had to be careful not to step on a sea urchin.

Your cruise is giving me vacation envy! :lovestruc

Nachi looks gorgeous, looks like a great way to spend the day. Just out of curiosity how much did the jet ski rentals cost? DH is thinking about doing that with DS when we are in Cozumel. And exactly what is the correct time :rotfl:, I am so confused by that :confused3. DCL says we arrive at 8:30am and I can't figure out if that is 8:30 eastern time, 8:30 Cozumel time.. Makes for planning my day down right frustrating!!!

The jetskis were $30/ half hour (for up to 2 passengers) or something like $45 for an hour. We got 2, and then they gave us an extra 15 minutes because I gave mine up when pods' broke. And I KNOW!! The time in Cozumel made my head hurt!! :rotfl2: There was also a daylight savings twist, I believe...so CONFUSING!!!!

Ooh that looks like a nice day! That food looks so good. I like that kind of salsa and I would've gone for the quesadillas too!

BTW, this is why I am terrified of having boys!!

Were you just smiling or taking pictures or were you at all worried that one of then would slip and break their necks?? I am way too much of a worry-wart to have boys, with their rough and tough play, as my children!

And please don't be offended! I'm not knocking your parenting...I envy the fact that you, and probably most people, can watch that and be totally okay with it. I'm such a spaz! Just looking at that picture makes me nervous! I need to either have all girls, or boys that are into theater!

First, I am soooo not offended (you are so sweet to ask!). I was NOT happy about what they were doing AT ALL- but Pods was like, "Ahh, they're fine" and really, there was water on both sides- one side the pool, the other was a "hot tub" that was the same temp as the pool, pretty much. I am kind of used to the boy stuff...all except the part when they hit- not that they do that a whole lot, but when they do, I FREAK OUT!!! Boys tend to do a LOT of stupid stuff- that Aston Kucher show doesn't have any girls on it, KWIM? :rotfl2:

It sounds like you had an excellent day at Nachi! I would go back- I thought the price was REALLY reasonable- $49 per adult? Less for kids? It was GREAT!

I love Punch buggies too!! So do T&T- they ALWAYS play that game. I actually learned to drive a stick on a VW Beetle on Martha's Vineyard- so they hold a very special place in my heart, too. Good luck on the restore!! :thumbsup2

That pool in Cozumel looks awesome!

It was!! When I told my husband about it before we booked it, all I had to say was "swim-up bar" and he was SOLD! It's his favorite vacation activity. :goodvibes

I want to go back NOW!!!! It definitely was a ton of fun with 100+ Dissers in the Cozumel sun!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Beth

It really was a very relaxing beach day, but loads of fun! Loved it!! It was really fun to keep running in to people, too!

:woohoo:

You're IN! Maybe we could do an exchange- you for Tyler, who was an especially obnoxious 13 year old boy today! Ya think your husband would go for it? He can bring the mustaches for the Bat Mitzvahs! :rotfl2:

OMG- that was sooooo funny- it made me LOL!! :rotfl2:

We are raising our kids to party like rockstars....well, that's what it sounds like reading your post! We make them do community service and stuff too- last summer they worked with the homeless for 5 days in Washington DC on a Mission Trip- it's not champagne & caviar 24/7 around here, ya know! :rotfl:Just on vacation!

Good! That's what TR's are for- inspiring others to make great memories, too! :goodvibes

And no, it is not Disney owned. It was a Mexican business. Last time we did Chankanaab- we swam with the dolphins. That was a great day, too- did you go there? Or was it far away? Xel-ha? Xcaret? I think Cozumel has soooo many possibilities- it's a great port to stop in. :goodvibes

Your Buck is very handsome. I'm sure if you put out a salt lick he'd hang around all the time. And i'm with you with taking it easy on the jet ski, those things don't have seatbelts.

WOW...I am SO HONORED!!! And SO FLATTERED!!! If you were trying to make me feel really, really, really special- well- GREAT JOB!! You have!!

No problem! It really is a great TR!

I did a brief stint working cruises - so this will be our first cruise as a family and my first time as an actual pax! :woohoo: So it should be super fun! But I have a lot to learn about cruising on the other side of the elevator. (Crew wasn't allowed inside the "regular" elevators and the behind the scenes elevators dropped you off in the back of a kitchen and I was always scared I was going to get burned or fried while wearing a Carmen Miranda get up or something equally disturbing :scared1: ).

So....really, I had no idea what time I was in- it was sooooo confusing. So, I did what any smart woman would do- I found Jen. :rotfl:

PB030669.jpg

Actually, I didn't have to look too far, since we were hanging together in the pool. And I figured if she screwed up and we missed the ship- well, who better to be stranded in Cozumel with, huh? Anyway, here are some crap-cam pics from the rest of the day....

Where was Ron? Why didn't he join us? HMMMMMM????? Just one more of these....

PB030648.jpg

And it was time to go. And let me say, Jen timed it really well, because we all got back into port with time for shopping!

Bye Bye Nachi!

In case you were wondering about taxi fares.from there...
IMG_0482.jpg

Or needed directions...
IMG_0484.jpg

The taxis were there right away, but we needed two to get back (one for each family). It was a great, great day- THANK-YOU, Ron, for bringing us!!!

Our day in Cozumel isn't over yet! Comin up next....time for a little shopping...OLE!

And ....GOOD MORNING, KARIN!!! Buenos Dias! :daisy:

Rita looks heavenly in that setting. Food looked amazing too, could be that this diet is killing me LOL heck my sock looks yummy lol

Some day girls i will join you ... THEN we may be one of those people running as Tammy "encourges" us to hurry up and not miss the boat LOL

:goodvibesGood Morning, Ellen!:goodvibes

And another great update! Thank you! Makes getting up and getting ready for work so much more fun! :lmao:

Your Cozumel day looks like a lot of fun even though I still need to figure out the time! :rotfl2:
Love the pool photos! I never dare to take my camera to close to the water - I guess I need to get one that can get wet! ;)

Oh, btw, Ellen I am missing you over at my new August pre-trippie! :rolleyes1

Your day in Cozumel looked like a lot of fun, Nachi Cocom looked like a great place! Was it expensive? We went to Cozumel as one of the ports on our HM back in '03 and spent the day at Chankanaab, we didn't do the dolphins but I wish we did, it was fun to see them anyway, though.

Ooh that looks like a nice day! That food looks so good. I like that kind of salsa and I would've gone for the quesadillas too!

:goodvibes I see Ellen already answered, but I couldn't help but chuckle here. After raising two boys, (and Ellen has 3) you get so used to what they do, you have to just let them be boys or you will have a heart attack!:scared1: My oldest started dancing on the coffee table and jumping off at 15 mos. I went nuts trying to stop him - I had to keep the kitchen chairs upside down on the table at 19 mos after #2 was born, because I'd come back from changing a diaper and find him on top of the table.

So after a couple of years of panic, I had to relax and just trust they would be okay. I had a friend who raised boys ahead of me and she would just smile and shake her head and say that nothing a boy would do would ever surprise her - I would have to agree!:rotfl2: Boys are alot of fun, but it is a never ending adventure!

Hi Rock Star Mama! ;)

Your day in Nachi looks awesome! All-inclusive food and drinks, adventure and relaxation, ocean and pool - all wrapped up in one!:thumbsup2 I loved our Cozumel adventure, too, but I would vote for yours for next time!

Love the snow pics! That buck really made himself at home! We have alot of trouble with deer around here, too. The dogs looks so cute - Snow Buddies!

Rita looks heavenly in that setting. Food looked amazing too, could be that this diet is killing me LOL heck my sock looks yummy lol

Some day girls i will join you ... THEN we may be one of those people running as Tammy "encourges" us to hurry up and not miss the boat LOL

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I was just wondering if Jen and Ellen would need "encouragement" since they weren't sure what time it was!

On the Liberty of the Seas, they had "Ship Time" which was EST, and it stayed on Ship time for the cruise, no matter where you were. I remember Disney changing time with the zones on our Eastern. Looks like maybe Cozumel wasn't playing?:confused3

Looks like Nochi was great fun!:goodvibes The buck in the back yard is very nice! I haven't seen any that close since we moved into town...

We had a good holiday, got phone calls from Mickey and Ariel, to which the kids didn't care, but we told MIL she was going too and she had the proper reaction. :cool1:

Your Buck is very handsome. I'm sure if you put out a salt lick he'd hang around all the time. And i'm with you with taking it easy on the jet ski, those things don't have seatbelts.

That's an interesting idea...I would love for him to come back (he eventually left yesterday when Tyler let the dog out back and she chased him away). Thanks!

:yay:

Well, you REALLy deserve to have a great time then! The people on the cruise work SO HARD- what did you do on the ship? Were you an entertainer? What line? The thing I love most on the Disney Cruise is the CMs- they go out of their way to make sure you are having a great time. :thumbsup2 It's wonderful to be pampered that way! And thanks AGAIN!

Rita looks heavenly in that setting. Food looked amazing too, could be that this diet is killing me LOL heck my sock looks yummy lol

Some day girls i will join you ... THEN we may be one of those people running as Tammy "encourges" us to hurry up and not miss the boat LOL

Yea, I can see that happening! MAybe we could go on a Podcast cruise someday... Then our run of shame will be ESPECIALLY humiliating!

:goodvibesGood Morning, Ellen!:goodvibes

And another great update! Thank you! Makes getting up and getting ready for work so much more fun! :lmao:

I'm so glad!

Your Cozumel day looks like a lot of fun even though I still need to figure out the time! :rotfl2:

Me too!

Love the pool photos! I never dare to take my camera to close to the water - I guess I need to get one that can get wet! ;)

I would NEVER take my good camera in the pool- it was a waterproof Olympus- a BIG necessity for that kind of picture taking. I LOVE those cameras- you never have to worry about the weather- rain, snow, doesn't matter, the camera is fine in all conditions. It's GREAT!

Oh, btw, Ellen I am missing you over at my new August pre-trippie! :rolleyes1

OOPS! I forgot- but didn't I subscribe? Maybe I forgot. I need to find Rosie's, too....

I thought it was a great value- I just posted the price right before this. I loved Chankanaab, too, but I was so happy when Jen suggested this for all of us because we definitely wanted to try something different this time.
