Mickey's Backyard BBQ or Hoop De Due Review?

We're in the planning stages of our trip and I'm debating between these two special dinners. I've done the luau before and while I loved it don't think my daughter will be as thrilled. I have a three and a half year old who will be with hubby and myself, plus my Mom and my brother. We all love BBQ.

Thoughts?

i would say to go with the hoop de due review all the way. The food is actually very good and the show is wonderful. i think the younger ones would have a better time here than the backyard bbq!

My 4 yo LOVED the HDDR when we did it in October... It was absolutely wonderful... I am planning on doing it again this December when we go!!

I have never beeen to either (though doing HDDR and the Luau in April) but what pushed me to HDDR over Backyard is the fact that Backyard is fend for yourself seating at picnic tables, which means to grab a decent spot you have to line up pretty early and fight the crowds.

Every time we go, our kids ask if we can go the hoop de due .!!!

We have done both and both are outstanding. Food is good for both and really the only difference is outdoors or indoors plus the show.

Either way, I don't think you can go wrong.

We've been to HDDR and a good friend of mine went to BYBQ instead with her two young children. It was chaotic to her and some parents were not very nice when it came to sharing character time. No characters at HDDR but very organized. Music and dancing mostly but funny. If you want character interaction, go for BYBQ but you can get the same interaction at Chef Mickey's. HDDR is the same type of food, no characters yet you still have family fun. Either way, have a great time.

I want to see the show but also thought the babe might like running around and doing the dancing at the BYB. Thanks for all the input!
