We just received a box of goodies from my MIL and her dh. Included was the Mickey icon light up wreath:

Did anyone else get this? At first I thought MIL had made it b/c there are glue gun glue trails from ball to ball. Globs of glue gun glue here and there. Balls falling off. And only 1/2 of the balls light up. Then I saw that it did come in an official "disney shopping.com box" and I looked it up online and was disgusted that this thing cost $40 and is so cheaply made. I, of course, will talk to dh and he can decide if he wants to tell his mom.

Did anyone else get this and what was the condition of it when you received it? It's a good *idea* but poorly made.

Blobs of glue all over the place, balls falling apart, lights with no balls on them at all. I am going to call and complain about the poor quality of this item today.

Oh wow -- I'm sorry to hear it's so poorly made! How disappointing! :(

I thought it was adorable and almost ordered it. Glad now that I didn't!

You better believe I would be on the phone right now receiving a refund.

We ordered this and had the same experience as previous posters. Blobs of hot glue residue everywhere...broken bulbs...bulbs missing the color. It was very poorly made, and we immediately returned it for a refund. Lucky us, Disney already has the thing discounted, and they would only refund us $25 of the $45 (including taxes) that we originally paid for it. I think I'm done buying any household items from them. Everything seems to be pretty shoddy lately. :confused3

Wow that is sad. I was eyeing that in the catalog. Now I know better.

I would call them right away and explain the condition you received the item in. Tell them that this is unacceptable.

I've noticed the quality of disneyshopping has decreased lately. I have always wanted a halloween costume from there but they look like the kind you can get at a party store.

Make one yourself! There's a post from a few Christmases ago from another DISer who posted the isntructions. I amde one then and mine is still doing great, on the front door right now. I think her directions said to use floral wire to attach everything, so no gobs of glue, and I think I only spent maybe $15 on the supplies, it was a pretty easy project. So, if you really want a Mickey wreath, you could send that one back and make one yourself, maybe even use the Mickey head shaped ornaments from DS.

Oh no - we ordered this for our home and it should arrive this week. Guess I'll be getting a refund!

I talked myself out of buying it!! Oh, my gosh! I am so glad I did. I looked at it for weeks, then decided that it was something that I could make on my own. I made a Mickey and Minnie wreath; used red ribbon with white polka dots that match Minnies skirt and bow in her hair. I had previously made Mickey head ornaments earlier, by using smal glittery pompoms that I hot glued on a small red glass ornamnet for ears. I then took silver ribbon and made a pretty loopy thing you could hang it on the tree with. Well, I wrapped the ribbon around the wreath, put Minnie and Mickey down at the bottom. They are actually sitting on the inside part of the wreath. I then wired them onto the wreath, so they wouldn't fall off. Finally, I took several ornaments I made and put them on the wreath. It is adorable!!! Glad, I made my own, it cost me $12.00 total.

If you provided a receipt they have to honor whta you paid!!

CinRell- I ordered and returned a costume full price- it came with 2 left hands- anyway, even though I sent the original receipt they said that since they received it after the sale had started that they would only refund the sale price- and that's what they did. I have some Disney visa rewards to use up, but after I'm done with that, I'm done ordering form the store- The quality and service just isn't what it used to be and that's a shame (sorry- guess just needed to vent)..

That's too bad. I ordered 2 of them and they should arrive soon. If mine look like these, they will be returned. I'm glad I have free returns as a best guest perk. This would be only the second time I've ever returned anything. I agree, they have to return the item at the price you paid. I do believe costumes have a different return policy. I'll let you know if they try this with me too. Especially if the item is broken.

Wow--what a shame ;0( I ordered a Mickey wreath and it is lovely, it is hanging up right now and looks great! As for returns and not getting full price back that is just wrong-- I returned a costume awhile back because they sent the wrong size but I never even checked to see what amount they credited me-- I'm going to go check that out right now, although I'm sure it's too late to do anything about it now.

Wow thanks I have it in my cart for next purchase....it went up in price today to 39 so I didn't order...thank goodness. The quality of their stuff lately is not too good. I had to call today because of a broken mug..couldn't tell til I took it out of box and it was broken in a big U, fell apart. I also just ordered the Christmas houses and I hope they are nice. :earsgirl:

SHAME on Disney for selling such a shoddy product and for not crediting back what you originally paid for and can prove with a receipt!! :earseek: :earseek:

I came very close to purchasing that Mickey wreath. SO glad I didn't!!

The quality of their items has been steadily declining for a number of years now.. My adult DD has been a "Mickey fanatic" since she was little and there have been years where EVERYTHING I purchased for her came from Disney - much of it collectibles.. About 5 years ago I began to notice a decline in quality that has steadily gone downhill and now makes me leery of purchasing much of anything from them.. It's such a shame because their "high priced" items were actually worth it at one time, but no more..:(

I'm sorry about your wreath - it does look SO pretty in the catalog.. It's too bad they can't/won't return to their former policy of producing quality items - they'd make a fortune off my DD and I.. :rotfl:

I received the wreath the other day and it was perfect. All the lights light up, no traces of glue, the balls are all on, wow, I might be the lucky one finally! I did order the Holiday Houses for 30% off and the next day they were 50%, which I wasn't to happy about. And I ordered shorts for DH which at Large could fit an elephant.
