Hi ALL!
Has anyone run across the Mickey and Goofy cassette driven talking heads dolls.
Explaination:
the stuffed dolls are 18 inches tall, battery operated, that talk and make jestures with their eyes and lower jaw as to talk at the same time that a cassette tape slipped into the back of one of them plays a story involving the two on some adventure.
Plus there are a series of read-along books that go along with tape. A child can sit on a couch with Mickey on one side and Goofy on the other and listen to the two tell the story with the eyes and mouth moving at the same time seeming to read along in the illustrated book.
The only thing that has come close in recent years is the Elmo and Chatty Cathy but there was no reading book involved and two characters seem to reading their lines from the book.

Those are older pieces and are no longer made. Once in a great while you might be lucky and find them ot the books at a thrift store (Salvation Army/Goodwill) or at a yard sale or antique store. Many times if you are lucky enough to find them, they no longer work.

You might try ebay. Everything comes up there sooner or later.

These were produced around the same time as the Teddy Ruxpin bear doll that was on the same idea. Not sure if it was the same company. My son was little........I'm thinking around 1980. He was born in 1978.

Happy Hunting.

I HAVE THE MICKEY DOLL AND ALL HIS CLOTHES - THERE WAS A CABLE THAT HOOKED GOOFY AND MICKEY TOGETHER, BUT I NEVER GOT GOOFY.

I HAVE THESE UP IN THE ATTIC - GEE, MAYBE I SHOULD BRING THEM DOWN AND CHECK THEM OUT.

MICKEY HAD ALL THE CLOTHES TO GO WITH THE STORIES - LIKE SLEEP WEAR FOR HIS BEDTIME STORY, WITH SLIPPERS AND EVERYTHING.

The talking dolls in question were produced by Worlds of Wonder- same company that gave us Teddy Ruxpin. Copyright dates on the Disney audio tapes are either 1986, or 1987, depending on the tape.

Worlds of Wonder went out of business shortly after bringing out "The Talking Mickey Mouse Show" series, so there were fewer of these dolls produced than in the earlier Teddy Ruxpin series.
