Mice Chat Reporting Disneyland Hard Ticket Christmas Parties

Same! Although I have to say the Disneyland Twitter alerts are super slow. The information has usually already been posted here before the alert comes through!

I find @ScottGustin, @FreshBaked and @BrookeGMcDonald are usually pretty quick with breaking news. I get them before DisneyParks announcements. Even with Disneyland announcements!

I'm on the fence about this. I will buy to see the parade alone. And I love the idea of lower crowds at Christmas. They need to decide this soon. Believe it or not, it is almost time to start park/dining planning!

I'm going nuts waiting! If the rumor is true and there's going to be parties then we need to know so we can plan! Release the details Disney!

So happy though to see the castle will be decorated and they won't be doing the projection only route like WDW did!

The thing is, it doesn’t often feel less crowded, at least not during the Halloween parties. So you may end up paying for the same feeling.

I agree, Disney needs to hurry up! Honestly I almost never post rumors or speculation, but seeing it come from a source like Mice Chat kind of startled me because they're not known (like some other sources.....) for just rattling off gossip.

So, if I'm looking at the 2019 calendar, theoretically if the pattern holds, IASW would go down on October 18, 2021 and would reopen on November 5, 2021. WDW has November 8 as the start of their holiday season, usually the two parks are within a few days of each other (or on the same day).

The current DL calendar goes to October 13...I feel like DLR needs to announce by mid-next week because the IASW closure needs to go on the 10/18 calendar day.

I'm seriously grasping at straws here, they're over a month delayed now vs. historical announcement.

LOL i literally spoke 10 minutes too soon, well at least we have dates now!

Disneyland Park

At Disneyland park, nostalgic holiday magic shines brightly with the glistening Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle and a 60-foot Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A. Both make wonderful photo locations for that cherished memory of your Holiday visit.

Entertainment making a comeback this year at the park includes “A Christmas Fantasy” parade where beloved Disney characters join Santa Claus for a merry musical celebration down Main Street, U.S.A. You may also see Santa making other stops within the parks throughout your visit. For the perfect kiss goodnight, you will be treated to “Believe … in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular and magical snowfall over portions of Main Street, U.S.A. Additionally, seasonal transformations will happen once again at “it’s a small world” Holiday and the 20th installation of Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Disney California Adventure Park

At Disney California Adventure park, create new memories during Festival of Holidays and discover the sights, sounds and tastes of a diverse season of celebrations during this festive time of year, including Christmas/Navidad, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day. Friends and families are invited to celebrate with “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” as Disney characters host a fun street party featuring Mexican folklórico dancers and Mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers and percussionists, giant mojiganga puppets and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their fiesta best! At Paradise Gardens, you’ll enjoy festively themed food and beverages, live music and dance, and later in the holiday season, Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming film “Encanto” will make her park debut. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for information on Mirabel’s arrival!

Currently have our family's first ever WDW trip scheduled for right after Christmas this year (I know, I know...busiest time of year and all but we're at the mercy of kids school and sports schedules so it is what it is) but am feeling less and less confident we're gonna go through with that trip.

SO EXCITED to hear everything will be back at DLR so I know I can at least get my Disney Holiday fix there if we cancel WDW. Season of Light is my absolute favorite WoC so will definitely miss that (already miss WoC in general! Hope they can get it running at some point...) but SO happy about everything else!

So now the strategy part -- which weekend do I pick to bring my daughter? November 11 (Thursday) is Veteran's Day, and historically, parks have been packed on the associated weekend, so I'm probably not picking that.

I need to go stare at some AP blackout and airfare calendars and whatnot.

You haven't mastered the art of having Disboards/Disney parks blog/Twitter/ticket queue on your screen while taking a Zoom/conference call? Tsk tsk, that was pandemic lesson #1! :lmao:

Normally I'm great at multi-tasking and if I hear my name pull the "sorry, my audio cut out for a minute can you repeat the question". :rotfl2: However this call was one I needed to be paying very close attention to and actively participating. So of course that's when Disney drops the announcement.

I'm actually at peace with the no party thing. I'm booked November 29-December 3 but the person I'm traveling with isn't sure if she still wants to go with the rising cases. We have until October 30 when final payment is due. I might still go by myself but if we had to buy a hard ticket for a party that would just get complicated. SOOOOOO excited for all the returning holiday things though.

Oh kind of like how my kid needs to go use the bathroom 15 seconds after we pull out of the driveway? :rotfl:
