Mexican Riviera Cruise with WONDERful Souvenir in the Works! 6/7 PTR Link!

Hi everyone! Hope you guys are doing well.

Okay, so Tuesday I went to my scheduled DR's appt to see how i'm doing and the baby's doing. I told her I was doing horrible, getting up in the middle of the night to throw up, throwing up first thing in the morning, twice during the day, and right before I go to bed. She didn't like the sound I was making when talking (raspy and scratchy sounding) and asked if it was from throwing up. Guess I didn't notice, but since i'm not catching a cold, it must have been. She prescribed me Zofran for the nausea (is used for cancer patients when they're taking chemo for their nausea as well) and OH MY GOSH....I feel like a COMPLETELY new person. I even started crying the first morning I woke up because I felt so great and didn't wake up once during the night to throw up or turn over. I can't believe I didn't call earlier to ask for a prescription sooner.

Okay, now to stop being selfish ;)...the baby seems to be doing fine. Heard the heartbeat for the first time and she said it was 160 which is good. She noticed how little I am when I lifted up my shirt and said I may not be too big for this pregnancy. Only time will tell I guess! Also, i've only gained 1 pound since my last check-up, so I haven't gained back all that i've lost yet, but i'm hoping with this medication, i'll be able to start eating normal again.

I'm happy to say that i'm actually at a happy point in my pregnancy. I'm feeling better, walking around, able to work, etc. I'm not regretting doing this anymore and not threatening my DH with, "This is the first and last one" anymore :lmao: Next appt is in 3 weeks!

Okay, so yesterday I went to upload the rest of my pictures to update the last of this TR (thought I had done it a looong time ago but didn't) but now i'm having freezing issues with my account. Thought it was maybe just the website acting up that day and decided to wait until this morning to try again. Same thing. I contacted Photobucket support so hopefully they can help me figure out what's going on so I can continue with my TR.

Zofran is good stuff!! Are you having trouble getting your prescription filled? With the drug shortages, that is one thing we have been short on...seems to be fixed now(in labor and delviery we use zofran like many drink coffee. We use both the tablets and the iv form--mostly the iv form in labor!!)

I have to say this but with motion sickness issues and gi issues, I dont leave home without meclizine and zofran!!

Glad you have returned to the land of the living!!

I wanted to do a little update on our past trip to Disneyland in early March.

We stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel in a Theme Park View room with Concierge and this was our first time ever staying at this hotel and our first time ever having concierge.

We arrived after 8pm on Friday, March 2 so we were not able to partake of the appetizers/desserts that were being offered through concierge at that time. We checked in rather fast (only one's in line) and checked out our room:

You could definitely see World of Color from our room but couldn't see much of the projections. And the cool thing is, is you turn your tv to a certain channel and they pipe in the World of Color music so you can enjoy it all from the room! Very nice.

The next morning was a little crazy, but first a view with daylight:

We didn't get up to make early morning hours today, so we pretty much took our time getting ready and headed down to the Concierge lounge for some breakfast of fruit, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, pastries, and coffee.

A VERY cool espresso machine that I didn't get to use.

I didn't get a chance to take other pictures of the breakfast since it got a little busy.

My sis in law and DB headed off to the parks before us, while my mom and I headed back to the room, to brush our teeth, finish getting ready, etc before leaving. We were probably about 15-20 minutes behind my DB at that point. We headed out to the parks and were headed into the lobby of the Grand Californian (to get to the parks you have to enter through the lobby of the GCH) when I received a call from my DB saying that the parks are closed and are making people back away from security due to finding an unattended package. Luckily for us, we grabbed a few chairs next to the huge fireplace at the Grand Californian and sat down. About an hour goes by and we decide to go wait by the entrance to Disney's California Adventure to see if they'd be letting people in and see if there have been any updates regarding this package. We stand there for about 5 minutes (with lots of other guests standing near the entrance) when a CM announces that they don't know when the parks will be opening and that their managers have asked for all guests to move far away from the entrance.

At this point we left and headed to Downtown Disney to walk around and go in the shops since there was nothing else to do at this point. There were lots of people sitting on the ground, sitting on benches, standing around, waiting for something to happen. I started discussing with my mom, I felt so bad for people that just came up for the day (a few of my friends were just coming up for the day that day) and that they had no hotel to go back to. That led us to think, hmm, let's just go to the concierge lounge, and chill out for a bit.

So we all headed back to our hotel and relaxed in the lounge while munching on some chips, trail mix and sodas.

After sitting there for about 20 minutes, the CM in the concierge lounge comes over to us and says they have now given the 'okay' to enter the parks, but she recommended waiting for a few minutes to let the hoards of people waiting at security to go through first so we wouldn't have to wait long.

We changed our plans at this point. Originally we would have been touring most of Disneyland today, but now we were going to be touring California Adventure.

Hi Lesha!

Love reading about your trip to Disneyland and all the photos... Paradise Pier hotel looks great! :goodvibes I really like those beach ball shaped cushions; and what a cute note & snacks from the concierge lounge cast members!

Hope you are doing well and having a nice week so far :cutie:

Hello Emma!

I think everyone likes those beach ball pillows because there was a note by them saying "if we loved them so much and took them home with us, they would charge $60 per pillow to our account." I loved them too, but not enough to pay $60!

Wow! That looks like such a fun room at Disneyland! I haven't been there in sooooo loooong... like 13 years long. Very glad to hear that you are feeling better too! I hope it stays that way!

Hey, Lesha. Nice room at Paradise Pier! We could have had our own little DIS meet that Saturday night. We were staying by Disneyland that night, before we cruised out the next day! Thanks again for writing your TR. It really helped out with my planning!

Lesha,
I so loved Disneyland and California Adventure!! In some ways I like them better than WDW!! Thanks for sharing about your latest trip. Hope to hear more soon!!:thumbsup2

I'm really impressed with the goodies the concierge team had in your room, and the card is too cute. Very nice touches!

Wow about the bomb scare, do you know if that happens often?

Hope you're continuing to feel good :)

Love the view from your room :cloud9:

Wow, dramatic start to the day, at least you managed to avoid most of the chaos by the sounds of it :thumbsup2

Hey just wanted to say that I LOVE reading all of your trip reports! Keep the vacations up! And congrats on your pregnancy :)

You are WAY overdue! You must make a trip down soon. I'm feeling so much better now. Now i'm dealing with the constipation from the Zofran..if it's not one thing it's another! :sad2:

Aw man! That would have been fun. Making my way over to your TR shortly :)

I think what I like most about Disneyland and California adventure, is that you can walk from one park to the other in minutes. However, with that comes LOTS of people in the same area at one time, unlike at WDW everything is very spread out.

I was really happy about the food too! In fact, when I had made my reservations for the hotel, they had asked if we would be showing up after 8, and I said, probably not, and he said if we were to call back and they would save some things for us from the hot appetizers. Well we left home late so I called concierge and told them we wouldn't be there till after 8pm and the woman on the phone told me they weren't allowed to put food in the room (probably due to hot food getting cold = food poisoning, etc) so we expected nothing when we got to our room. It was so nice to see a few goodies there along with drinks in the fridge:goodvibes

That was the first time i've ever had to deal with that before. I can't imagine it happening often, however, there are lots of idiots out there, so it may happen more than i'm thinking.

Love the view from your room :cloud9:

The room was magnificent. I felt very spoiled!

The view from your room is amazing!! Love concierge service.

Hi gina! I felt so spoiled with concierge. It was so nice waking up and taking the elevator a few floors down for breakfast with good coffee and peace and quiet. It was never really busy in there which was nice.

Hey just wanted to say that I LOVE reading all of your trip reports! Keep the vacations up! And congrats on your pregnancy :)

Thank you! Wow looks like you're definitely keeping up with your vacations! 3 tickers. Very jealous!

Nice update on the weekend at DLR. I can't believe that those beach ball pillows are $60 cute!

So glad that you are having the relief from the nausea. I'm looking forward to hearing about the rest of that weekend!

Looks like I am winning the battle of the Cruise! While Fran is not thrilled about the idea of going on a cruise without being fully better, she has decided that if I need it I can have it! After the past year, I need it! :thumbsup2 Now we just need for that money to come in!

YES! YES! YES!!!

Holy moly i'm SO GLAD you're winning the battle! I'm so excited right now! Do you know when you officially find out and when you can make a reservation???

Yay.. you are back and I'm glad you are feeling a little better! Don't worry it is all worth it. I promise... Love the update on DL too.

Thanks for the little update. I've been to DLR many times, but we've always stayed off property because I couldn't justify the price difference. Everytime I go, I think "next time we're gonna do this right and stay on property" I'm glad to see the Paradise Pier through your photos because I've heard it's just an old, run-down, I wish I was a real Disney hotel. I think it looks great. And for the price, I can almost book there and not be paying more than double most the other places, just almost double :lmao: How's your pregnancy going? Well, I hope.

Lesha,
Keep the Zofran...try some colace(Ducolax) over the counter. It is a stool softer that should be on your safe drugs list. We give this to our high risk inpatients that we have on modified bedrest. Miralax is another. Call and ask to speak to your MD's nurse and she will know your MD's preferred and have access to your record and other meds, allergies, etc. Leave a message with what you need to know and they will usually call you back with in 24 hours if not sooner. Please don't be miserable if you dont have to!!

Excellent news!!! I think it's a perfect place to not feel 100% since they do everything for you. Have you looked at it using points? then you wouldn't have to come up with any extra money.

I LOVE staying on property! To me it's totally worth it and you feel so immersed in the magic even after you leave the park. Paradise Pier was wonderful and is now in our rotation of hotels. I was afraid my mom wouldn't like it because in her eyes it's a bit further from the parks (Even though i'd say it's maybe the same distance from the Disneyland hotel to the parks) but she really loved it!

Okay but to get a little TMI here. I've always had digestive issues since I was about 19. It used to be that I wouldn't make one BM for 7 days and usually around the 8th or 9th day, I would throw up because my food wasn't moving anywhere, and then I was able to actually have a BM, after I got sick. It finally settled down around the time I got married (22) and would have a 'normal' BM every 3 days <---I thought this was normal, but told that it wasn't :confused3

Anyway, on the list of approved medication is Doxidan, Fiber Supplements, Senokot, and Probiotics. I had been reading about how great Colace was so I went out and bought both Senokot and Colace. I took two Senokot on Sunday, nothing happened Monday or Tuesday, so Tuesday I took 2 Colace. NOTE: I drink an 8 ounce glass of prune juice everyday , 60-70 ounces of water everyday (I own a Starbucks refillable glass that's 20 ounces and fill it 4-5 times a day to monitor how much i'm drinking), eat lots of high fiber foods, etc. Just this morning I had a not so decent BM. Enough to make me happy that i'm able to go to the bathroom, but not enough to make me relieved. I'm thinking about calling and asking if there's anything else I can do. I don't want to be dependent on Colace, which is what I think helped. However, i've read that there are Prenatal Vitamins that contain stool softener in them, the same ingredients found in Colace, so i'm wondering if it would be safe to have colace everyday?

Alicia that sounds like torture! Does your OBGYN know your history? I'm sure she would be able to put together a nice cocktail of safe meds.
