Oh, you handled it quite well and were well spoken. I wouldn't have been so nice. I'm still sensitive about Katrina comments I guess. But yes, I think the OP is stirring the pot. It may as well be the DIS racist post of the day.

I so agree with you about the racial sub-text. She might as well have written "look how much better these white people are handling things." I can't post there or I will get banned for sure.

Kathy - so sorry about your MIL's house. Sure 3 inches isn't 3 feet but it is still a pain to deal with.

I broke down and bought a refurbished Roomba from Amazon, and have been using it today and yesterday. It is driving my dogs crazy. It "ran away from home" the first night I was charging it. I couldn't find it anywhere - finally found it under a chair at the back of the house.

TriciaII, I have a roomba, I like it a lot. I bought my Mom one last year, she got a new lab about 5 months ago, I'm just waiting to hear that he ate it!

Ooooh, I forgot we went to a REALLY good old-fashioned family style rest. this weekend. In Gretna, Cafe 516 or 615, something like that. It's an old Gretna drive up rest. (used to be a drive up) that was closed for a long time, called Da Wabbit.

Kathy, Have y'all tried it? The food was great, I had softshell crab with a crawfish cream sauce, Bob had a hamburger steak. Oooo and the BEST Turtle Soup I've had in ages!

Ooooh, I forgot we went to a REALLY good old-fashioned family style rest. this weekend. In Gretna, Cafe 516 or 615, something like that. It's an old Gretna drive up rest. (used to be a drive up) that was closed for a long time, called Da Wabbit.

We do DaWabbit all da time! On Fridays they have a really good and huge lunch special - shrimp stew with fried catfish & potato salad. YUMMO!

Oh, I know hon....I'm having a cocktail just as soon as I put Sienna to bed. I love how the OP just paints us all with one brush stroke when she clearly knows NOTHING about Katrina and New Orleans and all that it entailed. Ugh.
