Hey y'all!
We made it to Defuniak Springs, which is west of Tallahassee. We couldn't make it to Tallahassee because DH and I both started nodding off while on the road, so for everyone's safety we pulled off the road and into a hotel. We head for ASMo tomorrow. We are so exhausted- physically, emotionally, etc. And DD is being such a trooper, she's being so good and tolerant of us and everything going on- I'm so proud of her!
We left at 2:30am, took hwy 90 to Biloxi, then I10 E to where we are now. We got here at 1pm, but after many rest stops because we were so tired. The traffic wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (but still a whole lot of gridlock), but it took forever! We also met a lot of New Orleanians at our stops along the way- it was kind of like a party.
I'm not thinking about the possible bad outcomes of the storm and I refuse to let DH talk about it. For now, I'm trying to enjoy my "forced vacation" and will deal with the bad stuff when it comes.
Good wishes to everyone affected by this, and thanks again to all of the well wishers.
