Lori, I've been checking every thread you post on and am beyond thrilled you are getting out. I was so worried you would be stranded. I don't know about lifting the liquids ban but if anyone can talk them into it.......

Have a safe flight. You'll be in my neck of the woods (3 hours north) and it is beautiful this time of year.

Thanks Nan. We've been working about an hour south of there the past couple weeks on a pipeline so I figured I'd try it. I had no hope of being able to get them though.

And I found 1 seat for our WDW buddy to get back home (well, Tampa not Orlando) so he can get out too.

I need to pack but I'm just stunned.

my heart is breaking as I type this. G keeps asking me when we are coming back and I had to tell her "I don't think we are baby." we are getting on the road and the computer has to go in....

I am praying that God will in His infinite wisdom and mercy and grace miraculously dissipate this storm and/or just makes it not so powerful. I pray each of you who could be affected by this comes through unscathed. I am praying for you and us and even you who don't believe. please take care and I look forward to getting to TN eventually and hooking back up. You folks have been a lifeline for me and a great source of fun and deep thinking...I again pray each of you and yours weathers the storm well.

Well, on a fluke I checked the Southwest website and found 2 seats on a flight to Albany, NY at 8:25AM tomorrow.

Don't you know I tripped all over myself to get them suckers booked!

We are flying out (fingers crossed) tomorrow morning.

Now, if you could only take a carry aboard rollerbag what, of ALL your belongings, would you take?

And no booze.

You'd think they'd lift that liquids thing for me just this once.

So...are you from Albany or know anybody there or was that just a random city you could get out of NOLA on?

I just took my SIL up to Albany last weekend for college. They have the nicest Wal-Mart I have ever seen! (on Washington Avenue)

Are you serious about only taking a carry-on? No checked luggage?

OMG. I don't even know you and this is almost making me cry. I was not on the DIS during Katrina so all I know is what they showed on tv...sort of a disconnect between images and real people.

For some reason your post made it all the more real to me. I've been praying but now it's like instead of praying just for a city, there are "faces" (well, screen names) of people that I "know" that are dealing with this first hand.

I don't know what I'm trying to say but my heart just goes out to all of you.

Mayor Nagin and the weather guys are saying 75-100 mph winds for Baton Rouge.

That's mostly what the Baton Rouge stations are saying too. I've heard as low as 60mph also, with 4-15 inches of rainfall.

I haven't posted here in a long time but I want you all to know I'm thinking of and praying for your safety. Please take care as you either evacuate or ride the storm out (and I hope none of you near the coast or New Orleans decide to ride it out!).

Hi girls, I know most of you are gone now, I hope you are all having a very safe trip.

News stations here are reporting possible winds in the B.R. area up to 95 mph.

I am sitting here crying ( Kristina's post killed me) and freaking the F out to put it mildly .

I may start packing and just get on the road in the am and hope i can make it some where, Chad will have to stay home, he cant leave Exxon.
I have family in Alexandria and family in Huntsville Al and Atlanta.

You all have not left my prayers. Like another poster said, Kristina was a horrendous storm and we all prayed, but not like this. I know all about you, you are not nameless faceless people, you are DIS'ers!

OMG first Kristina and now Jenny-I am boohooing and worried about you all. Lori, I am soooo happy you found a way out, no matter where it is. We miss your daily appearances around here. Kathy, please keep safe on the road.

It is cloudy here in Tallahassee and we had our first rain from Gustav yesterday. I am sooooo glad it downgraded to a 3. I am praying that is dies down to a 1 or a tropical storm and goes quickly across our area. I wannna come home ASAP and make sure everyone is ok and get back to normal life.

I forgot my laptop(all packed up and sitting in my den) and so I am using DH's work laptop which has limited access- NO email access. So i have to wait till we get to the next hotel for internet. If anything like Katrina, evacuees were lined up at the hotels computers to check on loved ones and thier homes via sattelite. This hotel was a quick, last minute b/c hubby wanted to leave early find.

So, for a good bit, you gals are my only contact via computer besides phone-unless that goes out.

Lorie, are you looking at Hanna-what do you think??
