Here is my story of staying in three different resorts on my last trip.

In August I had to attend a trade convention in Orlando. Of course my first thought was since I was in Orlando I should book a Disney trip. My brother (who is my twin) and I drove from NC to FL on Friday the 22nd of August. The trade show was supposed to be Saturday through Tuesday. So I had a reservation for a Boardwalk 1 bedroom Villa on Tuesday.

Subsequently, I decided that I wanted to start my vacation earlier and would leave for Disney on Monday. I could not add a date to Boardwalk stay so I decided to book one night at the Poly Tower. This was a good way to try out the new hotel. Sunday night instead of staying in Orlando my brother says lets leave after the show and go to Disney. I'm like, okay lets do it, but it has to be cheap. So we book a reservation at the All Stars Music. I have never stayed at a value before. Not being snobby, but I always enjoyed the Deluxe resorts even if it took me longer to save up for the trip.

So Sunday night we head to the All Stars. For some reason this resort was packed. Not sure why. The room was actually very spacious and the pull down bed looked comfortable. My brother said it was good. I had the bed as I was paying lol. The next morning we stopped to have breakfast at the resort and man was that place loud and packed. Wasn't my favorite, first thing in the morning. By 7:30 we were packed and heading to the Poly Tower. I was so excited to get there and it did not disappoint.

We did go directly to the Tower to check in rather than go to the main building. This was a good choice. I was so hoping that we could get a room in the morning instead of 4:00pm but the chances of that is almost slim to none. We met the cast member in the lobby and Sarah was wonderful. She found us a room that was near the elevator and we were able to go right up to our room!!! Could not believe it. Plus they do give out Lei's which is a nice touch. I thought only the main check in had this. The accommodations was a deluxe studio facing the Magic Kingdom. The hotel is really beautiful and so new. Everything looked and smelled new. Even though this was for only one night we actually had the full day to enjoy the Poly. I really wanted a day to relax and unwind. Let me tell you this resort gave me that and more. The bar and pool were so nice and watching the fireworks from our balcony with the music was amazing! Of course we were also able to walk around the Poly resort and have our dole whip!

The next morning around 7:30 we arrived at the Boardwalk. Went to the front desk and guess what, our room was available!. That was a second time in a row. Now I'm not sure if Disney is just not busy or the fact we got to the resort so early. Either way this was great. Finally I was able to unpack. It is tiring living out of a suitcase. As expected the Boardwalk is great. I just love this place. I normally do the Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge. These are my go two favorites.

Anyway, the weather wasn't great for two days (cloudy and rainy) and the water in the pools were cold. Finally the sun came out and it was hot again. Be careful what you wish for. I am starting to enjoy resort visits more than the parks. After going for 40 years there just doesn't seem to be many new things to do anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love the parks but I wish there was more new things being built than replacing existing rides. Yes I am talking about Splash Mountain, to name a few.

Anyway, thanks for reading along. I can't believe at the last minute I scored a 1 bedroom villa at Boulder Creek on 12/13. Had to rent points to get this as nothing was available on the Disney site. Can't wait to have a Disney Christmas. My brothers girlfriend will be joining us on this trip. For the first time we are going to actually cook in the villa instead of dining out or purchasing the Disney Dining. We shall see has this goes.
