Sorry I have been MIA. My dog ate my laptop wire which now means I have to wait until my DH is not on the computer. Hopefully I will get around to finding a new one soon, but in the meantime, I am enjoying getting some stuff done around the house.

I am also gonna ask for your prayers today for my DH who has a nasty staph infection in his leg. He can't walk today, and I have taken tomorrow off to help take care of him. I am really really worried

I like the autumn part of Halloween, but I'm not into anything gory or haunted houses or anything. I'm not big on candy, but I'll eat tootsie pops, starburts, skittles, and stuff like that. I'd like to carve a pumpkin if I can find some time, but I have a LOT of cleaning up to do in the wake of Typhoon Tony.

I think I'm doing a little better. He came yesterday to get his truck and foosball table. He didn't even ask to see Louie. Talked to him a little last night and he's trying to play the victim card. As if! He was content as a clam, while I was at the breaking point trying to pay bills and shoulder all the other responsibilities. Still, I don't hate him; we are just incompatible in what we want in life, but I feel like I will resent him for a while.

Hope we hear from our Disney girls soon. I keep trying to go back to my TR, but I'm just not ready yet.

No way I'm going to a haunted house! I drove Rie and her friends to Baton Rouge for the 13th gate. They went in while I sat in my car and read.

Go ahead and resent him for a long while if it makes you feel better! It's part of the healing process.

Haven't had time to catch up, hope everyone is well, hugs if not my friends.

Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts! After a really rough start this is turning out to be an awesome vacation!

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous so far. We move to Portofino Bay Hotel tomorrow, really looking forward to it. I have to say I LOVE SSR, it is a stunning resort and our room location is .

I don't think I have ever laughed as much on a vacation in my entire life, we have had a total blast. I also have a new fave restaurant - Citricos is unbelievable...the Crab Gateau appetizer is the best thing I have ever eaten and the Veal Shank is awesome. Just love everything about this place!!!!

I hope to get back on and update on US/IOA and Portofino Bay!

just bought a pumpkin at Sam's - going to Red Bluff Sat early in AM and then back here later in PM to pumpkin carve. haven't done in years. HATE HATE HATE feeling of pumpkin EWWW...

I can totally relate to jwhtewolfd because my husband has decided he wants a divorce....he may also be moving out of state. i know this has been coming a long time but still sad....so I really treasure getting to hang with you gals even more. not sure financially how i am going to do it but have to do what I have to do.... so if I come by for Halloween just give me extra chocolates!!!

just realized Thanksgiving and Christmas are going to be very hard...financially and emotionally. we went to WDW last three Thanksgivings, Miss G's birthday is on a Monday (aah she was born on a Monday too!). it is just gonna be me and her for the holidays I *SO* wish I could afford to just get to and from Disney and take her even for a few days...even off property and not dining plan. not to be buying her out or anything...but just to avoid sitting around here. she is aware of it and handling it incredibly well so far...

I agree sweetie, WDW is the ultimate "out' from our troubles. But I hope you can get some healing and even some fun with you and Grayce- make it a special girls holiday. You don't need to spend to do that-well maybe a little. Get some cookie dough and roll it out and start baking.Maybe do ALL Mickey's! Make treats for neighbors or co workers like chocolate covered pretzels and those sugar cookies. Bake some bread as gifts- make a MESS of the kitchen and have fun doing it to LOUD music, dance around and make it as fun as you can for her. a tadition we do is have a basket "manger" and a wrapped smallish baby doll to represent Jesus. Usually we do something special for someone and you get a cotton ball for that to put in the "manger". Hopefully on Christmas, it is nice and cushy.

I would start a change jar for you two to use as a savings for a future trip to WDW- something to look forward to together.

Hugs to you, just trying to help fill your time and get your mind into better things when the holidays hit-b/c i am sure they'll be rough enough.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Both you and Jamie have been posting for awhile about your situations and I think for both of you, this will turn out to be for the best in the long run. It's just going to be a rough ride for awhile.

As for Grayce, I'm glad to hear she is taking it okay so far. I'm with Lori on this one...maybe you can spend this Christmas creating new traditions at home. You're both creative; I'm sure you can come up with some fun stuff!

Kristina - I am dreading the holidays. I'm going to Orlando for a conference in January, and part of me wants to spoil myself with a do-over trip, instead of just the one MK day as planned. But I'm really terrified I'll spend the whole time walking around bawling seeing all the things we did together since my only vivid memories of WDW are with him.

My daughter went to the Miley concert last night with my sister. She gets "Aunt of The Year" award Really, I enjoy going to concerts with DD, I just HATE the "dragging" feeling you have the next day after being out late.

It look like we might be going to Destin for Thanksgiving, so I don't think the NOMA date will work out for me. I'll have to make the next meet. Plans could change, though, and I might be able to make it. But, if you need an answer now, I guess I can't make it.

Kristina and Jamie - I am sorry for the painful transitions that you are going through. You both know that there are a lot of us out here who care about you.

Here's what helps me when I feel really down - I exercise to the point of exhaustion (which takes far less than it used to). I've had to do that twice already today.

This morning I was feeling so sad about my friend Susan - latest news just gets worse and worse. An oncologist who used to be head of the Am. Cancer Society told a friend that this is as bad as it gets. He said to go see her sooner rather than later - but Susan does not want us to come. I have to remember it is her choice and her needs out weigh the rest of us.

So I exercised, start feeling better and go have lunch with my dad. The guy my dad played cards with died yesterday - and this little lady that I'd made friends with just had to leave for the nursing home. I guess that is par for the course at a retirement place - but it is un-nerving to me. So back to the exercise bike for me!
