I was offered the job!

I DID get 6...yes, SIX...prescriptions for different allergy and asthma medications...along with some prescription migraine medicines. As for the mold in the apartment, since I'm allergic to mold, she says the only thing I can do is move. (Hear that? Doctor's orders: move! )

Forgot to mention, I think Kyle has a fractured rib. He was wrestling with a friend Saturday and has been in pain since. Just called the doc and there's really not much other than pain meds which he doesn't want. Any suggestions? I've been giving him ibuprofen and we have him wrapped.

Poor Kyle.. Hope he is feeling better soon and is grateful for such a wonderful mom. And as a mom of three boys, kinda glad they stick around after they grow up... I always thought the boys run away...

Sorry I couldn't get on here until now...had that pesky doctor's appointment.

So this afternoon I get a phone call coming in from a 504 number. I know who it has to be but can't answer it because I was (pretending to) teach (in my classroom that's in a big ol' shambles but with a shiny new floor that "looks like outer space"...it's BLACK....with white spots... the kids are like "WHY BLACK" and "WHY did they do this NOW"....I think they'd do a better job of running the place some days...)
ANYWAYS....I'm dyyyyyying wanting to hear the message but can't get caught on the phone...but about 10 minutes later my friend (another teacher) comes in to ask me if I'd heard anything and to take her group and I'm like "cover me!" and I duck into the corner and listen to the message and then I tell her what it said....that I was offered the job!

Bethany- as said, or yelled, and even teared up a bit- CONGRATS!!!!

Oh and, yes, your allergies will just be different.... they may even be gone for a bit, and resurface. When we moved to Dallas, we were all clear, then BOOM! we had a bad case, then we moved back home and all was clear, then they snuck back up on us! Hopefully it will not require 6 meds though!

I go to the doc tomorrow, but I felt halfway decent enough to go work out! I hopefully will go again tomorrow evening. Dh is still a spinning fool and the kids have been swimming 2x already. It was cool tonight, but thankful for heated pools!

Congrats Piglet! Just one word of advice - don't go out and buy a whole new wardrobe in anticipation of your new job, unless you get lots of elastic waistbands....cuz you know you'll be eating well! As if you haven't already noticed, everything we do centers around food!

Sadly, I have to agree with others on the allergies. DS2 has issues as well. You'll probably get some relief since you're leaving the mold behind. However, considering there's always something in bloom, I bet you find something else new & wonderful that makes you sniffle & sneeze!

Kathy - Broken or bruised ribs? Yuck! Can Kyle's baseball coach / trainer give him any suggestions (other than stop wrestling )?

jwhtewolfd - Looks like you'll have a whole bouquet of those gorgeous roses in just a day or so! I wish I had the patience to fool with roses. Those new Knockout varieties have me tempted....

How are all of you? I've missed y'all.

I did a quick skim of the last few days.

Bethany, Congratulations!! I looked back for the details ( like which school, starting when etc.) but didn't find it.

Lorie, I see that Sienna is not happy about the new nursery. I'm sorry I know that must be so hard for you. She'll come around, they are much more resilient than us Moms.

Kathy, Boys will be boys!! A cracked rib . I'll bet you wanted to crack him over the head. But I do hope it's not cracked & just bruised. Did I miss anything else going on with you?


I have good news with Angelina! Her back is feeling better & the pain down the leg is improving too! She also has a job offer, but terms aren't firmed up yet! She also got a call from that company she had interviewed with about another position.

As for me, The dr office didn't get back with me until yesterday about scheduling the surgery. I was hoping for early May but they now don't have anything until the 25th. I am thinking about holding off until July though. My niece's wedding shower is May 30th & her wedding is July 11. The nurse said I still might not be in great shape for the wedding if I have surgery on the 25th. So I am waiting to speak with the dr, to see if he thinks I can hold out until mid July.

No doubt I will have allergies down there. I'm allergic to a lot. Its 6 prescriptions, not just 6 allergies. I'm allergic to cats, dogs, mice, roaches, mold and mildew (found black spots of this yesterday to add to my growing rainbow), all the trees in the northeast, dust mites, etc...I think there was more but I forget. The clarinex was a trial instead of weekly allergy shots for 3 years. I think I may come down to that at some point in the near future. *shrugs*

Sheryl! Good to "see" you! I didn't put th school on here but I can PM you (and anyone else who wants to know) the school name later today. We will move end of June/beg of July and the job starts in mid-August.

Hope you get the answers you need from the doctor, and I'm glad things are looking up for Angelina!

Colin had a school field trip today to a museum in Baton Rouge. He really wasn't too excited on going, it cost $34.00 which I thought was a little high and I would still have to drive to Baton Rouge because the parents can't ride with the kids. So we skipped the field trip all together and he and I went to the movies. We saw Monsters vs. Aliens. It was ok but it was weird being in the movies with only one other family. I had to keep reminding myself that it's a school day. It was nice just having some one on one time with him because with three kids it doesn't happen much.

So Bethany did you take the job? Was it everything you were looking for?

According to the trainer, without doing an xray, they're pretty sure it's a fracture, not sure how they know that. All we can do is ibuprofen and keep him taped up.

He says it's still as painful as it was yesterday, but he's moving around a lot quicker today.
