yes, Bethany is waiting to hear about a job on the westbank!!

have a great week!

We are waiting for a phone call patiently too. It is truly taking minutes away from our lives:rotfl:.

Tricia-hoping it holds out for what sounds like a COOL party!

Lori

Everyone waiting for phone calls today!!!!

Cant wait to hear.

Happy Monday NOLA!

Here's to Kendall's party is a blast w/o the wet stuff! Now 45 people that's another story :scared1:.

I too am wishing for a nice weekend but in Mentone, AL. DD and I and 3 other mothers and daughters are all going to a Mother/Daughter weekend camping trip at Camp RiverView. We are so excited! :dance3:

Bethany let us know how the Dr. visit turned out.

Kathy nice to see you on the DIS. I hope everything is working out. :)

Lorie - where are you girl....how are you and Sierra doing? I hope she is adjusting a little better.

I'm still waiting...going nuts!

At least I am feeling a little better. I had so much pain in my face (sinuses) last night that I kept waking up. I don't know if this medicine is what is helping or if it is because I'm not in my apartment.

More later...hopefully good news!

Hello, New Orleans Disers! I am coming ot New Orleans for the first time ever in May and now DH finds out now that there is a Bike Week and wants to bring the Harley!!! This is not what my NOLA trip was supposed to be like!! LOL
We would have to bring it in a trailer. I cannot ride a Harley from SC to NOLA!!! Are the streets of New Orleans narrow like they are in Charleston? Would it be very hard to tow a trailer in the French Quarter where we are staying? Still have to find out if the hotel we are staying at could accommodate a trailer with parking. Apparently parking is tight. I know it is in Charleston and Savannah ---- the only other two towns I am familiar with that I would compare the street layout to.
Do you think Bike Week will be a big deal and now my NOLA trip will include 1000's of Harleys reving it up it up in the FQ???

Definitely check with your hotel about trailer parking, because many of the FQ hotels have parking restrictions during special events. The official Bike Week events are not taking place in the FQ, they have set up a Broke Spoke Saloon and some other stuff in the warehouse district near the Convention Center. There will also be some events in the Convention Center itself. I put a link below, maybe you can email them and ask if they have made provisions for trailer parking somewhere that might be easier to get to.

But you can be sure that there will be many bikes in the Quarter that weekend. Whether or not you bring your bike, make sure you check out Johnny White's bar at 733 St. Peter Street (it's across the street from Preservation Hall and Pat O'Briens). It's the biker hangout in the Quarter.

We rode from here to Myrtle Beach in 2006. The ride really wasn't too bad. The worst thing for me was having to keep luggage to a minimum.

PM me if you have any questions.

Hey y'all!

Thanks for the book suggestions- exactly what I was looking for! And Sienna is doing better- just a little lip quivering now and then when she sees the nursery, but she does seem to be excited about the new baby overall.

Bethany and Lori- I hope you both get good news today!

Tricia- I've got my fingers crossed for a dry weekend for your luau!

Kathy- I've never heard of that restaurant, but the menu looks good (and the website looks cool!)

I hope to hear again from Sheryl as well.

Yes I am very excited....

Take lots of pics of the party too. :)

Forgot to mention, I think Kyle has a fractured rib. He was wrestling with a friend Saturday and has been in pain since. Just called the doc and there's really not much other than pain meds which he doesn't want. Any suggestions? I've been giving him ibuprofen and we have him wrapped.

Thanks kmores, Tigerkat and cajunmommy for your replies. I'm glad I posted this because next time we go to the FQ I'll be ready for lunch! (Tigerkat, thanks for the link, it's a great site! :goodvibes) Now, if you guys can tell me what slot machine to put my money in at Harrah's.......

 and :goodvibes to eveyone who needs them this past week. I had a packed week and feel like I missed alot over here.

Wednesday I got to work to find one of our long term patients came in ill. His liver values were >2000 (top normal on our machine is 100! :scared1:), then he spiked a 104 fever. Very scary.

Thursday after work a bunch of us went to the new Pancho's. OMG ya'll. It's been SO long. I don't know how we survived since '05 without a Panchos.

Friday Tony and I went to the Nickelback concert at the New Orleans arena. It was good. Not as great as Metallica in November, but still good. Except that we went to the wrong garage after. Dude, where's my car?

Saturday my dad had a crawfish boil for my mom's birthday. Well, he said a "boil" but really he just bought boiled crawfish, he didn't boil them himself. :confused3
This is SO typical of my dad: talked to him Wednesday and agreed that 6pm would be a reasonably good time for me to make it to the boil (remember I work on Saturdays and we "close" at 3pm). He leaves me a voicemail on Thursday saying the boil is at 5pm. Saturday he calls me at 4:05pm:
Him: are you home yet?
Me: uh, no?
Him: you mean you're still at work?
Me: uh, yeah, I told you I would be.
Him: well are you going to make it for 5?
Me: not likely, I told you I couldn't promise to make it for 5. I'll do my best, but I'll get there when I get there. (not to mention I can't very well finish up at work if I'm on the phone arguing with you about how late I'm staying at work! :headache:)

So I get there at 5:30, and his own brother isn't there yet! UG! :headache:

Anyway, the first bloom on the Disney bush opened yesterday! :woohoo:

Poor Kyle!! I'll bet he's glad Mom is around to help. My sons always come home to stay when they aren't feeling well. I hope he feels better quickly!!!

My 33 year old is on the sofa in the keeping room. This morning, he said, "Mom can you feel my head. I think I have fever" in the most pitiful voice.:rotfl: I'm sorry he feels bad but this is a big guy- a hunter and fisherman. I wish that I was tough enough to video him and show his dates!!!
BTW, he didn't have fever but he is having a terrible time with his allergies.

beautiful rose! sorry about your patient. we were at Panchos the same night at 8pm....still a line that late. can't believe there was still a line...

men....they never really grow up (sorry but it's true). I can be in the bed sick as a dog and expected to still cook and do everthing else...yet the man gets a hangnail and he is laid up for a week...sheesh:confused3

Sorry I couldn't get on here until now...had that pesky doctor's appointment.

So this afternoon I get a phone call coming in from a 504 number. I know who it has to be but can't answer it because I was (pretending to) teach (in my classroom that's in a big ol' shambles but with a shiny new floor that "looks like outer space"...it's BLACK....with white spots...:lmao: the kids are like "WHY BLACK" and "WHY did they do this NOW"....I think they'd do a better job of running the place some days...:rotfl:)
ANYWAYS....I'm dyyyyyying wanting to hear the message but can't get caught on the phone...but about 10 minutes later my friend (another teacher) comes in to ask me if I'd heard anything and to take her group and I'm like "cover me!" and I duck into the corner and listen to the message and then I tell her what it said....that I was offered the job! :cool1::woohoo::yay:

As for the doctor...this was scheduled a long time ago (annual :headache:) but I conveniently got sick right before going. I didn't get antibiotics because it's not bacteria...it's ALL allergies! :faint: I DID get 6...yes, SIX...prescriptions for different allergy and asthma medications...along with some prescription migraine medicines. As for the mold in the apartment, since I'm allergic to mold, she says the only thing I can do is move. (Hear that? Doctor's orders: move! :lmao:) I did NOT, however, make it to the pharmacy because it's pouring rain and really windy and it's only 44°F...but Feels Like 36°F <<<<< SERIOUSLY?!? :headache: Nothing like seeing your breath in MID-APRIL! July is going to be a shock to the system....

48 more days of school....

Anyway, the first bloom on the Disney bush opened yesterday! :woohoo:
