There is a MERRY MIXER scheduled for a date in early December this year that we will be at WDW. This is the first time one was scheduled when we were there. I am interested in attending but would like to know what it's all about from someone who has attended. Do we need reservations? Is there a fee associated with it? Where is it usually held?

No reservations. No cost. The line at the beginning can get backed up. We got there right at 3pm and the line was already back to the world showcase entrance. It moved pretty fast though. 1 free ornament per family. 1 cookie or rice crispy treat per person. Some character meet and greets. They do close the lines for them so you most likely won't get all the characters in unless you are one of the first sets of people in the party. Some games and crafts. discounted DVC merch is available.

The last 2 or 3 years it's been held at the World Showplace in Epcot - the entrance to it is between Canada and England. You are required to have park admission if it's there although I'm not certain they've announced the location for this year or not? Other years it's been places outside of the park which personally I think is nicer to not require admission.

In addition to what was mentioned above, last year they also had a DJ and various contests e.g. dance contests - we didn't participate (enjoyed character M&Gs as well as surveying the DVC merchandise) so I can't remember specifics!

Large decorated hall with stage lighting, tables, DJ, cider, cookie, DVC stuff to buy. Open for a couple of hours, you can wait until an hour after opening and miss the long line to get in. People come in, wander around, get a drink, and leave for the most part. Some attend repeatedly, others once is enough.

Depends on what you want to do while there. All meet and greets, 2:30 and stand in line. No meet and greets, 4:00 and walk in with no line.

I've brought up to 4 guests, no problem. Once, years ago, my guests even got a holiday ornament. Most recently, you are asked as you leave, and the ornament only goes to the members family.
