But she didn't say she'd love a ring, she said she'd be honored to be offered one. I've been honored by lots of thing I didn't really want - like getting an award.
I'm still of the opinion that Meredith was probably contractually obligated to make it appear that she hadn't already made up her mind. She is probably also contractually prohibited from saying "they were pressuring me for more intimate footage or feelings of permanence with Matthew" - she can't defend herself.
Even though she wears weird clothes, I still like Meredith - very girl next door IMO. She obviously felt very torn about hurting Matthew - but had put herself in that position by accepting the role of bachelorette. He also accepted the role of one of the bachelors.
