Man oh man, you are GOOOD!Since I was very mad at DH for not wanting to go P&PP he made me a sweet deal. You see, we have never stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel here at Disneyland. I've always wanted to stay, but DH is a stick in the mud and figures why should we pay for a hotel room when we live 15 minutes away? He agreed to book us a 2 night stay at the Grand Californian in either June or December, my choice. June being my birthday month,and yes, I milk the whole month! And December being the prettiest time of the year at Disneyland. So there you have it, this offer sealed the deal.
Little does he know that I am also going to schedule us an appointment for DVC when we go.
I'm still new to this stuff, but my best guess is this: since the GC is a DVC, not a hotel, you would be a DVC member, able to use your points at any DVC property. It's only when you convert points to hotel stays (rather than DVC stays), that you lose out. But check it out on the DVC thread - they're awesome over there!I'm wondering about the Grand Californian DVC. Will the point system work the same for WDW properties? I know if you use your current WDW DVC points toward say any of the Disneyland hotels, they conversion is crazy. You're better off just booking a room with a code. Maybe I'm wrong?
Way to work that Fuzzy Math! And I CAN imagine all the carp you'll buy with that $500SO, I went back and did all the corrections only to find out our actual savings would be $2900 collectively. This would greatly reduce the Ducks cost by more that $1300 as Hewey and Dewey are considered "adults". Even after the airline change fee, they'd save over $900. Now that's getting FDM to work for you!
Ex bank manager here... will it be deposited into an account in your DH's name? The bank may be able to do that without him endorsing; for customers who had terrible arthirtus, or if their kids were making a deposit fro them, we used a bank stamp and wrote "Deposit only" with the account number on it.They will send a paper check to our home. Darn it! He's going to find out.How do I hide it? How do I get it into our account without his knowledge? Maybe I can get him to sign it when he's watching the Lakers lose again.

BTW, DW is preoccupied at the moment helping DD9 earn some Webkins $$. For those unaware, Webkins are stuff animals that you purchase at a toy store. With the purchase, you can (for 1 year..and then paid renewals) then log into the Webkins virtual space to take care of the virtual version of your stuff animal, interact with other Webkin owners, etc. DD9 was on Webkins earlier and had an unexpected logout which resulted in the loss of all her online $$ and stuff in her virtual room. In any case, she was pretty upset over it, so we've taken turns helping her earn some $$. She really wants to get enough to buy a bed so that her Webkin has somewhere to sleep before she logs out for the night; otherwise, when she logs in tomorrow, her virtual pet will complain about not getting enough sleep. I'm not sure how many of you have experienced Webkins, but they are pretty popular with the 7-12 crowd here.

Tracy do tell on the dumpster diving, even though I read it as dumpster driving thought it was some sort of vehicle, a trip to the opticians for me I think
She doing much better today. She can get out of bed and walk down the stairs. (Don't you love how she follows doctors orders? ) Today, DH wants me spend time with him since he's not working today. I think we're going to Disneyland. That's the only place the kid want to go. Darn it!
Not to mention Hilton Head, Vero Beach and (apparently) a gazillion other timeshares internationally! Oh, AND Disney cruises!Ohhh... I hope this is true. I think that may be a HUGE selling point to DH. That's the hang up he's got with DVC. Flights to MCO are very expensive from LA. So, if we could use our DVC for DLand and WDW, I might get him to bite! Thanks V!!

Ok, so the Enabler thought Waldo had accidently thrown away a credit card statement of hers. She searched all the trash cans in the house, with no luck finding it. Her only option was to search the large 5 foot wheeled trash can that we take to the curb. Being only 5'2", she grabbed a stool, thinking she could just lean over the top and search for the lost statement, right? WRONG!! As leaned inside, it started to tip so she tried to jump down and caught her rib cage on the lip of the trash can, bruising her rib cartilage. According to the ER doc, this is more painful than breaking a rib. So, now I've got The Enabler on bed rest for a few weeks, all looped out on Vicodin.

I had heard on the DIS that the one in Florida is really great, blah, blah, blah... This one sucked. They had a lot of 2006 merchandise, but I wasn't interested. I wanted character t-shirts for the kids at rock bottom prices. There was none to be had. I did find The Enabler and travel mug for $1 and if you bought one, you got one free. I found Maddie a cute Tink bedazzled t-shirt ($14) and myself 2 lime green vintage shirts(2/$20). One with Tink and one w/ Goofy. I'm not a Goofy fan, but it's lime. : Evan got a Mike Wazowski pin. For $5!! Oh my, they had wonderful merchandise. All the spring stuff is out and I was in heaven. They have really cute swim suits, so I got one for Maddie. Oh, the deal of the week is the $4.99 t-shirts I spied. They are really cute. Of course I loaded up on those. Got Maddie Tink, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Lady & the Tramp. Evan got The Incredibles, Mickey, Jack Skellington, & Peter Pan. I got Lady & the Tramp and I picked up Alice in Wonderland for The Enabler.
I have an interview tomorrow, so I think I will find myself conveniently passing the mall on the way home.
