Nice to meet ya Jo! :)

Oooh I've got a good friend who lives in Athy, Co Kildare who keeps telling me to visit I really must some day! Sorry Tracy for chatting

I'm getting closer to jumping. I just want to say this upfront. I love my mother. Really, I do. BUT........

In order for you to understand my dilemma, you need a little background information. My mother suffers from what we affectionately refer to as "Hispanic Panic" (HP).
Oh my! this "ailment" even has a name, how funny is that :lmao: .
It is quite common for hispanic women over the age of 50 to suffer from this ailment. She's only part hispanic, but her panic makes up for the other half. Anytime a hispanic woman is injured or is taken to the hospital, HP sets it. All of a sudden, they are going to die.
So they are not just being a hypochondriac? they actually go into full panic mode??:lmao: :lmao: Not sure why I am laughing as I may have of touch of this myself.......and Im not hispanic!!!
Well, you all recall how The Enabler bruised her rib cartilage, right? Well, she's driving me up a wall. She went to the Dr. and she asked how long will it take to recover. The stupid Dr., not versed in HP, told her several weeks. Several weeks to a sufferer of HP could mean 52 weeks. She was looking for a specific answer. The reason: When one suffers from HP, they miraculously recover at exactly the time frame given by the doctor. Say Dr. Nonhelpershoes, told her 3-4 weeks. She'd be in perfect condition in exactly 3-4 weeks. Since Dr. Nonhelpershoes, told her several weeks, she's in a tizzy. Should she cancel her WDW trip in August?? In August??? Are you kidding me. That's a whole 5 months away. So, The Enabler, asked me point blank yesterday when I thought she'd feel better. Little did I know she was fishing for a recovery date. I told her about 2-3 weeks. One week has already gone by, so I think she'll be better in 2 weeks, tops, right? Well, DH told her she'd be better by next Friday. He is WELL versed in HP! ;) Guess who told her 2 weeks to 1 year??? Anybody?? Yup.... darn Waldo. He is very well versed in HP, and yet, he fed into her.
I couldn't understand why she was feeling worse yesterday. She kinda moped around holding her ribs, sighing "Ai Dios Mio" all day. This morning Waldo confessed. I seriously want to drop kick him!
What are we going to do with Waldo????Maybe you can tell the Enabler that
you spoke to a "Dr friend on this DisBoards" and they said she will be better in just a few days..By the end of the week for sure.BUT she must stay in bed.

Thanks for listening to me, my friends. I needed a shoulder this morning. I have to go now and lace Waldo's coffee with liquid laxative. :teeth:
I'm kidding... or am I?? :stir:
Thanks for sharing these stories, I myself look forward to them!:thumbsup2
FYI you might not want to go the laxitive route or you may be forced to hear all about it!!

My fellow DISer, I can totally relate. See my MIL is Cuban so suffers from a rare and more acute form of HP actually called CFP (Cuban Female Panic). I'm Puerto Rican but only half, so I will hopefully be immune to PRFCP - besides, I think it skips a generation. Anyway, DMIL while I love her with all my heart, either has or will suffer from every known disease to man. Tylenol is her favorite remedy and calls it her "calmante". She takes it for all that ails her, anything from a headache to the the Black Plague. Just tell the Enabler to take a couple "calmantes" and she'll be fine in no time!

"Calmantes", eh? I guess that would go well her "magic" oil some hispanic woman gave her. Rub this oil and take 2 Tylenol, all your aches will be gone. You'd think they'd figure out it's the TYLENOL taking away the aches!! :lmao: All these HP enablers! :sad2:

Only problem is I say #2 is- You act jsut like your FATHER!

I gotta stick around and learn some more from you baby!

Them's fightin' words in our house. NO ONE wants to be like Waldo!! :rotfl:
The "What is Focking?" thread and the "The Official Focker Crocker Exchange" thread have had warnings posted on them from one of the Moderators saying that we need to watch our language. I got a PM from MickeySaver asking if I had been warned. So far no warnings for me.
Me neither.... I've only been warned for my signature.:confused3 Oh well. I did change my TR title, I don't want to get deleted.:hippie:

I don't know. But the one thread that I posted my "play on a certain word" list on was totally deleted and some other threads were locked. I don't want to mention the word because now I'm afraid of being banned.

Aw, crocker!! I'm seriously going to miss your "secret" word list! :rotfl:
I tried to warn you. I did.

I know.:headache:

It is a little bit funny though...Just sayin...
I can totally picture the Enabler walking around like that though!:lmao:
It's so ridiculous, it's funny. I emailed all my brothers and told them, "I'm sorry, but I have to kill your Mother....." They all thought it was funny, except the one without a sense of humor. But don't get me started on him!:rolleyes1

Where to even start?! This is the best! Up to 24 pages and many months still from the trip? Well done! So far I've read the first few pages and the last few and will go back and read the middle bits too. Fabulous stuff!
And I think the word "breasticles" is the funniest word I've ever heard in my life. You're killing me....

Yay!!! Deb's here!!! :cheer2: Welcome, my Irish friend. She's IRISH, Jo! :lmao: Oh, and you guys have to check out her TR, her baby daughter is absolutely stunning. princess: I've got to figure out a way to get to Ireland in about 15 years to introduce Alice to Evan. ;)

:lmao:
Tracy, you've got me rollin'!! I totally knew Waldo was going to feed into the Enabler's HP. Seriously, you have the patience of a saint. For real.

And.

I think you might need more than 1 date with a Lapu lapu during your trip. Just sayin.'
I know! Just let me say this... I am seriously not even close to sainthood. Forgive me Father for I have sinned. I've had terrible thoughts about my family..... I want to drop kick my father and poke my mother in the ribs to see if she's really hurt..... I'm kidding...I think.:rolleyes1

Sorry Tracy for chatting

Chatty Kathy's! :chat:
Oh my! this "ailment" even has a name, how funny is that :lmao: .

Oh yeah, it's total hypochondriac, at it's very BEST! But yes, they tend to go into full panic mode. I'll keep the bloody details private, but, once she worked herself into such a tizzy, she was hospitalized for a week!:sad2:

What are we going to do with Waldo????Maybe you can tell the Enabler that
you spoke to a "Dr friend on this DisBoards" and they said she will be better in just a few days..By the end of the week for sure.BUT she must stay in bed.

Ohhhh....good one! Thanks! :thumbsup2:

LY,MI! = Love ya, mean it!
Just a little cutesy little phrase we use when we tease each other or poke fun.

Guess what came in the mail today?? C'mon.... take a guess... :hyper:

The "secret stash" check! Guess who got the mail from the box this afternoon? Nope, not me!

Let me begin by saying, DH works ALOT! Does he have a choice? Someone needs to finance our Disney trips. "Secret stash" money doesn't show up every year. :confused3 Well, DH didn't work last night. So, he was up at "normal" hours today. Evan usually tells me "Mailbox is here, Mama!" Well, not today. DH got the mail and do you think he went through it? ::yes:: I didn't think he would, but he did. We also got our rebate check from Sears today for the new stove we had to buy in January. I also had been saving a $3.88 rebate check from Pledge for trying their new duster. It's great, by the way. :thumbsup2:

Being as sneaky as possible, I flipped all the checks over for his endorsement. I told them they were all rebate checks. Yes, I am the rebate Queen, so he's used to me asking him to sign. I got the checks in the bank this afternoon and came home and transferred our "secret stash" into our savings account! Whooo Hoooty!!! Free at last, free at last... yada yada yada!! One speed bump cleared...bring 'em on, baby!

So, going back to The Enabler and her HP. This afternoon, I was sitting with her, playing along with her HP and asking how she was feeling. I took the advise of Boysmom5150 and I told her, one of my DIS-friends MIL had done the same thing. ;) She perked up, instantly and asked how long did it take MIL to heal? Trying to keep a straight face, I told her, a little over 2 weeks. :rolleyes1 Oh great, she said. That means I should be feeling better in a few days, right? Oh yes, absolutely, Mom! ;) Then came the question of all questions... How did MIL do it? DOH!! She threw a curveball at me. Without missing a beat, I said, She fell off a swing, playing with her grandkids. Aha!! Perfection! It was the perfect answer. Believeable, yet, odd enough, not to question it any further. I think, my friends... we are on the road to recovery! :woohoo:

Up Next: What's a OCD girl to do???
