Men's Fashion - oxfords/loafers without socks?

As I mentioned a couple of times upthread Goldman, freaking GOLDMAN, recently did away with their suit policy. I think very few men wear suits everyday anymore.

@DLgal is describing looks I was thinking of, shorts, dress shirt, loafers seems like a good look.

Also, even though I said "without socks" I meant the look, everyone wears the foot cover things, or I'd think so. I wear ballet flats pretty much daily and they look sockless, but I have the little footies on too.

I agree that "most men" do NOT wear suits to work every day. My father, in a professional management position,stopped doing that in the mid 90s. My husband only had to do that for one year, when he worked at the State Department in DC as a Marine Corps liaison. He wears a milltary uniform (cammies) every day normally.

The last two weddings he was in, he wore a suit with:

1.Black Leather Converse All Stars (the groom's request)

and

2. "Sockless" dress loafers (grooms request-a very hipster, fashion forward guy).

I was going by the posted picture. I don't like the look with suits. Maybe it is in fashion, but I don't care for it.
I also really don't like the pants hemmed too much so they look like cropped yoga pants.

The casual look in this picture, I wouldn't think anything of it.

And the no show socks...so you are wearing a full blown suit and no show socks so you can look "sockless" but you wouldn't feel sockless, seems silly.

Funny, when I Google to get images of the look, if I look from the waist down and those tight and cropped pants, it looks like some woman just put on her boyfriends shoes real quick to check the mail.

It's a look you don't care for and that's fine. I was asking for opinions It's fashion, no right and wrong. The more I studied on it, the more I decided I think DH can pull it off, so he's got some new things ordered.

I think a lot of places are business casual nowadays. I say "a lot" but yea I don't really know.

My husband's company it's business casual. You are actually not to wear a tie at all. The only time you would do that is for extremely special occasions. My husband doesn't wear a jacket either and I don't really see many of them doing that on a day to day basis. It's pretty much dress pants and shoes and dress shirts though polos are also very acceptable, in fact many of their logo shirts tend to be on nice polos (you know not straight up 100% cotton polos but the dressier kinds).

I actually don't know how many of the guys wear loafers but if it's oxfords they are wearing socks to my knowledge. I may be actually a slight minority but I think in a work/professional setting seeing the pant leg up when you're sitting down (which is normal) and then seeing your ankle is a turn off to me so even having no show socks would just be icky to me to see that on a guy. Boat shoes are different for me but my husband personally doesn't like boat shoes so he wouldn't wear those. He does wear flip flops every now and then but it's like when we're at the lake or going somewhere for vacation with a beach. He's not really one to wear flip flops out and about daily.
