If we have memory maker and a magic band, how reliable is it for the ride photo's/videos to "automatically" load onto our account via the RFID chip in the band? I'm not sure I trust the system completely to know that it's my family on a ride or to actually load my photos as they should. Memory maker costs too much money for it not to work as Disney says it should.

I was there a few weeks ago and the photos seemed to link without problems (7DMT, Buzz, Everest, and Test Track were the ones I saw on my account). Still, I think there is always the chance that the long range RFID readers won't work quite right.

We only had two ride photos get misplaced with Memory Maker last month. We rode a lot and had a large party, so I was impressed that we didn't lose more over the week! The first issue was when the previous log's image was uploaded instead of ours when we rode Splash. The second picture we had missing was one of our kids on Buzz. We always took note of the time and sometimes our photo number(s). I believe there is information online about how to recover the lost images. We checked MM on our phone throughout the day because the pictures always seemed to upload quickly. If we noticed 1/3 of our party's pictures from a particular ride weren't there, we went back to the ride. The CMs at the ride photo desks were always able to pull up the pictures and add them to our account manually with that info.

We didn't even have MM for our trip in August and all our ride photos were linked to the Photopass account. That was before the official roll out of the RFID system too. At that time most people stopped and had them added to their account like you did with the old card system. We didn't since we didn't have MM but they were all there anyway.

I think the system is pretty dang reliable and much like a missing photo taken by a photographer, if you notified Disney of the missing ride photo, along with the date and approximate time you rode, and what you were wearing they can probably find them for you.

Memory maker got all mine no problem. But there is an area after the ride that displays all of the photo's where under each displayed photo is a place to scan your magic band. I did that for the first two days and ended up with a duplicate on my account. If you are nervous about the pictures, you can always do that just to be sure and at least have two shots at it. But it was fairly reliable for me.

What kind of phone do you have? I had read somewhere it was compatible with the iphone or ipad. Is that true?

I had problems with Test Track 2 weeks ago so I just stopped by the Photopass desk after the rides that had pictures and had them scan my band to be sure they went on. My nephew was in a different room from us, but linked as Family to me and no problems at all with his ride photos.

I'll differ with the other posters. We were there last month and several ride photos didn't show up. Test Track had a different family. None of Expedition Everest showed up. Our only Tower of Terror was missing. I had taken photos of the pictures on the monitors and used that to have them look up photos, but it's a bummer for me to have to keep track of that because of their system.

It took about a week for them to find the pictures which made me nervous because I had read that ride photos purge from the system after 2 or 3 days. Also didn't figure out they had found Test Track for a while. Instead of just loading the photo into the account, they emailed a photopass card # and I didn't realize that there was an email with that info.

On the plus side, all of Mine Train showed up, which is good since that doesn't have a place to view photos and get a picture number.

We were using iPhones to access our pictures! I'm not sure if there's an easier way to do it, but we just went directly to the regular website on our phone's internet browser. The site loaded fine and we were able to view all the images.

We were there a few weeks ago, and had a great experience on this front.

At one point a CM gave us a heads up that photos at MK were not appearing automatically that day, but that we could add them after the rides (except SDMT).

However, we found that the CM was wrong, and the pics DID show up automatically.

I'd get MM again in a heartbeat.

I was there last week and only Test Track appeared on MM. I rode all the attractions and not one of them linked. We rode as a family of four and it is hard to believe not one band linked. I called MM and they found 75% of them, but they could not link the video from 7DMT or ToT. I am hoping for som sort of refund. As previously mentioned, if I was to purchase MM again, I will take photos of all the attraction photos. They also lost a MNSSHP photo. I refer to MM as the memory less maker.

Almost all of our photos were linked. My mom and I rode single rider for Test Track and her picture showed up but mine did not. We also have a few photos of other families.

As you can see, there is a variety of experiences here. Last week all our ride photos automatically uploaded just fine, no interventions needed. But I know there certainly ARE people who have not had the same smooth experience. If ride photos matter to you, I would do as suggested and note the numbers. We aren't super into the ride pics, so I never bothered with this part, and it was OK since they were all there anyway! Good luck!

we only did 2 rides w/ photos and they uploaded no problem.

We checked via the photopass website on both a droid and an iphone throughout the day to see how our pics were coming out. Some did go up almost immediately (impressive) and others took hours to show up. Typically by the time we got back to the hotel that night everything was uploaded.

We were there in October and all our ride photos/video showed up with no issues. These included Test Track (both times we went on), Splash Mountain (both rides for DH/DS), Buzz and 7DMT (photo and video). Pretty cool technology!

We were there the last week of August and our 40 ride photos all came through with no problem. It was awesome not having to stop and wait to have them added - one area where Disney still has a leg up on Universal.

What is the website to go to for checking on my phone? this will be great to be able to see them before we get home and wish we may have redone some.
Thanks a lot, only one more week!
Bev

We were there in early October and our SDMT photo and video never showed up. I emailed memory maker and they said the equipment was down that night :(

Otherwise, all the others showed up.

Add us to the list of those who didn't get all their pictures. I wish I would have kept track of photo numbers and the time we were on the ride. I did contact the help desk and they did locate a few but I got tired of doing it every day so I gave up.

We are just back today and our ride pics automatically uploaded with no problems. I did not trust the system though and kept track of our approximate ride times and checked our pics to make sure.
