Memories of the DREAM come true ….. 08/09 All 30 days done!

Ah, how I wish we could stay a little longer into September when the crowds subside - unfortunately it will NOT be happening for some time yet.

Such a shame that we will be missing you this summer and while you will wish the time to fly by, Tom and I are hoping for it to just crawl VERY slowly. :rotfl2:
[/QUOTE]

I really wanted to meet up with you again, but going the day after Labor Day was such a hassle for us. I didn't have time to do things that are needed to do before the trip. We do a very large event that weekend & it puts such a strain on me to get ready.

I'm like you, wanting the days to crawl VERY slowly!!:crazy2:

We'll be there for 2 weeks in Mid-august, so I'm sure our days will overlap!

Andrew really loved meeting you guys too. He automatically knows who I'm talking about when I bring up "Karin", haha. Actually, I think you convinced him that I wasn't crazy for meeting people I met on the DIS :thumbsup2

I'm working on getting caught up on this TR. I just love your reports :lovestruc

Mid August sounds good! As long as your vacation will be longer than Aug 24! ;)
We will be on the Fantasy from August 10 - 24 (back to back Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises), and then stay for another two weeks at WDW and we would LOVE to see you and Andrew again. :woohoo:
And thankfully this TR is VERY slow moving - so it will be easy for you to catch up. :rotfl2:

Well, even if we don't meet this time, I can always look forward to your trip report. ;)

Day 22, September 3

We still have money to spend? - Part 2

We waited a little while for the tram and rode back to our car.
Our first stop was Old Key West

IMG_0775.JPG

to put all our purchases into our room and to drop off the Cake Pop and Carrot Cake Cookie.
We quickly checked the internet for new messages and around 1.30pm we headed out again and drove over to Downtown Disney for lunch at Wolfgang Puck’s Express. Since it was already past the regular lunch hours there was no line and we placed our order, picked up our drinks and went to find a table. We sat at a nice four top and were quickly served our lunch.
Tom had ordered the

IMG_2332.jpg

Pesto Chicken Salad Sandwich, lots of juicy roasted chicken, romaine, red onions and plum tomatoes, while I had ordered the

IMG_2330.jpg

Oven Roasted Salmon, with fennel, tomatoes, arugula, roasted potatoes and horseradish cream. For dessert we both had ordered

IMG_2335.jpg

their wonderful Crème Brulee. We both enjoyed our lunch and the air conditioning before we headed back to the car to drive to some of the outlet malls in the surroundings. Since we had gotten that generous present from our stateroom host, we needed another suitcase to take it all home.
We drove to one of the malls, checked through the Disney outlet and picked up a white shirt with an embroidered Partner’s statue on the front for 5$ and then walked to the Samsonite store there.

IMG_2337.jpg

We browsed, but didn’t exactly find what we were looking for, so we just started walking around a bit more and had a look at some more of the stores. When we came across a Fossil shop we had to stop and check it out. They had lots of interesting things and there were even some things that looked very interesting, but Tom wasn’t in a buying mood. Once we had checked out all the stores that looked interesting we walked back to our car and drove to Sandlake Road to do a little shopping for Pixie at the Petsmart and then check out the large Walmart that is very close to it.
We took a very long time looking around,

IMG_2342.jpg

IMG_2343.jpg

picking up bits and pieces for school, a few T-shirts and some beers for Tom. We also had a look at their suitcases and found an interesting looking folding bag which we considered to buy if we didn’t find anything more suitable. When we left Walmart it had become dark and we stowed all our purchases in the trunk and started driving back to Old Key West.
While driving we decided that we wanted to have dessert before dinner again and programmed the GPS to the closest Krispy Kreme, which was the one we usually go to. We felt pretty lucky, when we approached and saw that the “Hot Now” sign was actually on. There were quite a few people in line and we joined them and soon were served

IMG_2350.jpg

a dozen warm, fresh off the conveyor belt, glazed doughnuts. Tom got

IMG_2348.jpg

a cup of coffee to go with it and I had

IMG_2344.jpg

some Diet Coke, then we sat down at one of the little tables that have a view of the conveyer and ate the first one of the heavenly soft doughnuts while watching more of them being produced. I think we both had two doughnuts while sitting there, then we cleared the table and put the rest of the doughnuts into the trunk as well and made our way back to Old Key West.
We hauled all our loot up to our room, where I packed what we didn’t immediately need into one of our suitcases. In the meantime Tom had laid the table and put out all the salads and cold meats we had in the fridge and we sat in front of the TV snacking away. It was not very late when we decided that it was time to call it a night and head to bed earlier than usual.

To be continued ..........

All caught up! You have posted so many wonderful pics in this report - I'm really enjoying it! How cool you got to ride TOT 4 times in one morning! :cool1:
Front row at ST - that is awesome, too -it makes the experience so much more "real." I am looking forward to the new upgraded ST - we haven't ridden the old version in years.

lunch and donuts! wonderful things to spend your money on and good job on not settling for a suitcase for the sake of getting something to haul loot in and waiting till you find what you want!

Tom and I both love to take photos ;).
It's wonderful to have times where the parks are not just packed to the gills, so we really enjoyed having a morning where we could ride everything to our hearts content. :goodvibes
You really should try the new updated Star Tours - it is fun. We once went on a tour in DLRP and were shown a bit of the "inner workings" of the ride - makes us appreciate it so much more. :thumbsup2

We never picked up a suitcase that trip, but instead signed up for Owner's Locker! :rotfl2:

Oh good! I was going to suggest that on my next post. You are there so much, why lug stuff so far every time? Good choice! :thumbsup2

It took us long enough to find out it was perfect for us! :thumbsup2 We are now bringing an empty collapsable bag to fill it with everything inside and travel with that. I am NOT travelling with that huge purple thing for 4 weeks. :rotfl2: I'd rather pay for delivery.
Fun fact: When we first filled our box, we didn't take the time to make notes of what we put inside, just left it to memory, so after 6 months, it became kind of a HUGE surprise, what was actually inside. :lmao:

I can understand going to be early...you guys do some much each day yo uare probably exhausted by the end of the trip.

It is fun to sometimes get to the parks early, but we are far too lazy on vacation to do it often. :rotfl2:
And yes, even though with taking a midday break (and nap) we would need a vacation at the end of the vacation! :rotfl2:

Day 23, September 4

A show, a safari and an expedition in the morning and fireworks and Extra Magic in the evening - Part 1

Today we were up early and out on the veranda when the sun came up.

It was beautiful out there and we decided to head out early and try to be at the Animal Kingdom for rope drop. So after getting dressed we headed out the door and over to IHOP.
We didn’t have to wait long to be seated and our server was quick to take our order of

IMG_2357-1.jpg

coffee, tea and orange juice. While she was getting the drinks we were reading the menu and deciding what to order. Tom finally decided on the

IMG_2361-1.jpg

Chicken Fajita Omelette, grilled Fajita seasoned chicken breast strips, onions and fresh green peppers with salsa and a blend of cheeses. It was also served with sour cream and

IMG_2363.jpg

a side of pancakes. I had my heart set on the

IMG_2360-1.jpg

Stuffed French Toast Combo, Cinnamon raisin French Toast with a sweet cream cheese filling crowned with Cinnamon apple compote and whipped topping. It was served with

IMG_2358-1.jpg

two scrambled eggs, hash browns and two bacon strips. It was such a welcome change from the usual breakfasts and we both enjoyed it a lot.
We were done with breakfast by 8.30 and on our way to the Animal Kingdom just a few minutes later. When we arrived at the parking area it was 5 to 9 and there were lots of other guest arriving as well. Again we were lucky and scored a parking space in the area close to the tram. They had a bit of a snag, as the told people to stand in one space and the tram pulled up to an area a bit further on. So this caused all of us to more or less “run” over to the new tram stop and we were lucky to get on. They packed everyone in like sardines and headed back to the park entrance. We were through the turnstiles at 9.05.
We took a little time to go through the first area and stopped to explore the animals along the way,

as they were all out and very active. Our plan was to head to Expedition Everest to pick up a Fastpass and then head to the Safari.

IMG_2368.jpg

So we headed towards the right and over the bridge to Asia. Right when we walked up to the Finding Nemo theatre we heard Cast Members say that the first show of the day was about to start and there were still seats available. So we changed our plans and headed inside the theatre.

IMG_2369.jpg

We hadn’t seen it in a while and seeing it without a long wait was perfect. There were plenty of seats to the left and right and we walked halfway down and sat in the left section. We were only sitting there for about 5 minutes when the show started.

It is an amazing show and we were happy that we had decided to watch it there and then. Once the show was over we finally headed over to Expedition Everest and went past the long line at the standby entrance and over to the Fastpass machines.

To be continued ..........

I really enjoyed watching the Finding Nemo show too! You got some great pictures.

I have yet to see that show...can you believe it. We were just talking yesterday that we are going to try to see it this trip.

I love watching those shows, they are amazing ..... what I enjoy not so much ..... having to get in line and wait for an hour. :rotfl2:
We were so lucky as we just walked up that path, walked in, sat down and the show began. :woohoo:

Two great updates !!! And more Donuts !!!!!!!!

Thanks Rosie.
I need to get this finished before we leave or I will be stuck with multiple trip reports again. :rotfl2:
Nothing says America more than doughnuts for me! :lmao:

Jennifer, you should really plan to see it. It is amazing. :thumbsup2

I'm another who has not seen the Nemo show. If I get too hot we will have to check it out!

We are now less than two monthe to go!:wave2:

Judy went for the first time last August and absolutely LOVED it !! I am still a fan of FOTLK though and will always pick that over Nemo if I have the choice but Judy would pick NEMO!!!!!

Hmmn. Not really sure what that says about America!

:rotfl:

It really is a another one of Disney's wonderful shows. We have seen it about 3 or 4 times and the only thing I do not like about it, is the wait for it to start. ;) :rotfl2: You really should give it a try.

In a month from today we will already enjoy the charm of Key West. I cannot believe we only have 26 more days to go. :woohoo:

Both shows are awesome and yet so different, Rosie! I don't think you can really compare them, just pick a favourite. ;) :thumbsup2
