Memorial Week Cruise May 24-29, 2009

:mic:Ok, so here's our plans! :surfweb:

:thumbsup2We'll have our meet and greet just before/ during the sail away party.party: On deck 9 toward the front right when looking at the stage.
Wear a green mickey paint chip pin, and if anyone has or can find anything wave an American or lime green flag!
I understand that the sail away party starts right after the safety drill, so we"ll need to try to hustle to deck 9 right after the drill.

Also, CUL8R, I think we'd all like to see the cm's on land wave good bye to us with big mickey hands!!!:mickeyjum Try to find out if we can see them from either side of the ship or if we are better from the right side or the left side. For now, we'll plan on the right side of the stage, if we find out the other side is better we can change our plans!

:thumbsup2We'll meet again the first night at :rockband:Wavebands about 9:30, incase we missed anyone at the sailaway and just to get to know eachother better. The first person there (prob won't be me- i run a little late, lol!):rotfl2: should see if the hostess (if they have one) or a cm can direct us to a little area, then we can all ask as we come in, or wear your buttons again. The people we met earlier should recognize eachother:chat:, but those that we may have missed won't. After that I'm sure we'll all see eachother all over the ship! :boat:

:teacher:Fish Extenders. We all vote to keep it affordable for everyone. We'd like to give gifts to everyone in each room. Some suggestions were something disney, something from your hometown, something useful on the trip, something homemade... Be creative!!!:scratchin

:coffee:Here's the pass out schedule so far: we've got 2 passer-outers per night, if more come during the trip I'll add them on. Let me know if this doesn't work for anone, I can change it around if needed.:dance3:

Sunday 5-24: cuL8r, hillfam
Monday 5-25: twokats, Kelly Lou
Tuesday 5-26: lilouisianagal, Willsgirl

Questions? Comments? Changes? Wednesday is April 1st- then I can start saying :sail:"I'm going on a cruise next month!!!!!!!!" Can't wait!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Sounds like a plan :thumbsup2

We have joining rooms. Not sure which one will have the FE. 2571 & 2573

:confused3 We still don't have a room number.:sad2: Disney keeps saying it's guaranteed. I read there's some type of cruise packet that goes out about 2 weeks before the cruise, though some have reported getting it a month in advance...I'm hoping we'll have a room assignment tucked in there. I'm wishing...:genie:

Here's looking forward to more Disney mail anyway!!!:cheer2:

CUL8R: WISH shirts are the alert green/yellow shirts that those of us that gather in www.disboards.com/wish area wear when we are meeting up at a race or other event (such as the Disney Marathon!). This way when we are running with 30,000 other people on course we can spot our "teammates". They have graphics on the front that say WISH in really big font with Racing Team smaller, then on the back it has our motto and some Disney graphics.

I think I've figured out what I'll use for my FE gifts!

Not sure if DH (Danny) and I will do the night meeting thing ...we'll see...it's our honeymoon ya know! ;)

Oh getting excited! :figment:

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Thanks for your direction!

Quick question: For the FE gifts are we going for something for each family member, or are we doing a general thing?

Quick question: For the FE gifts are we going for something for each family member, or are we doing a general thing?

I believe we're doing a small something for each person in a room. Key word is affordable; nothing extravagant. Just a little something to add a little more magic to our cruise.

I've been lurking on some other threads. :surfweb: Yesterday, March 31, people who are cruising on April 30 reported getting their cruise packets and those that didn't have room assignments received that information also. So after Easter I'll be checking every day for my room assignment...and by the end of the month we should all have a cruise packets :yay: I have no idea what's in them. I'm just excited about getting ANY mail from Disney about the cruise!!! I'm sure it has luggage tags...but what else could it be??? I'll have to do some more surfing. :surfweb:

Hi Monique- Just answering, from what's been discussed I think the general concensus was a gift for everyone in the room.:fish:

Tina- My sister is going on a DCL cruise 2 wks before us and she got her packet just a few days ago... :coffee:Here's to waiting patiently by our mailboxes!:rolleyes1

:dance3:It's April now...
:banana:You know what that means!?!?!
WE'RE GOING ON A CRUISE- NEXT MONTH!!!!!!!!!
YAY!!!!!
:dancer:

Ok... i got it! I ordered my fish extender last night on ebay.....(2 lazy to make one), so I am working on the goodies.

Got a quick question for everyone...where can I get tshirts made? I tried zazzle.com, but kinda iffy about that one. thanks in advance!

Also.....how about a little "nickname" for our special group? I am too frazzled on a friday to be creative enough to think of one........what do you think?

:yay:I like a group name idea, :confused3but I don't have the creativeness to make one- feel free to throw out some suggestions everyone, I'll try to think of some.

:hippie:G-Ma, this sounds like something up your alley! Let's hear a few of your suggestions!

Hillfam- I applaud you for buying your FE on ebay- they look so great! :duck:I bought fabric WEEKS ago, but couldn't figure out how to do it. So, my sister is currently working on it, and it'll look "homemade" and perfectly imperfect! :dance3:My kids will love it!

Lol, I need more info. What do we want the name to stand for? :confused3 How about...Mickey's Mates, cruising the Wonder? Well we can't be the Dis Diva's 'cause then we'd leave all the guys out. :lmao:

(my kids know me to well), lol. I'll have to give this more thought. Anyone else???

Anyways, I've been crazy busy working on projects from this site for the grandkids. I'm making them all the Epcot passports. Have you seen them? They are turning out pretty well and I think the kids will enjoy getting them stamped.

Lilouisianagal--lol, on not meeting up with us at night. is in the air. We so understand and don't blame you a bit. :lovestruc What a great place to be with someone you love!

Take care all-----------Mar

:surfweb:So, I asked on a recent trip report about the cm's waving good bye to us. She said you can see them from decks 10, 9, and 4. She said she thinks the right side when looking at the stage (but wasn't positive). So, we'll keep our plans for that!:cool2:
:thumbsup2Spoiler alert... close your eyes if you want these things to be surprises! She said the cm's on cc wave to us as we leave there as well!!!!:sail:
:cool1:44 days till we leave Ohio! 48 days til the Wonder!!!!

Just taking a quick moment to update ya'll. ;)

We have added my mother to our reservation. There was a long story behind it, we were afraid that my DH would not get to go so we put her on alert. Then when he got things arranged where he was back to going, he said let's take your mom anyway. She had a major birthday this year (#75) and we just finished her chemo treatments (we have been fighting cancer for a year and a half), so we are celebrating life!!!:cool1:

So we will be in room 6080 with me, DH & DM. This will be DM's first cruise and first trip to Disney. The CM's that added her to my reservation were so excited for her. :goodvibes

Hope all of you are having a good month and that the taxman did not hit you too hard!!!:worship:

As someone who's added another guest to my list of travelers...I say :cool1:   (that's cool bananas) :dance3: The more the merrier :dance3: :grouphug: :jumping1: :rainbow:

Now for the big question:scared1: : Does Tina have a room assignment yet?

Drum roll please...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (Ok, it's the closest thing I could find to a drum roll) as I go check the DCL website :surfweb:

And the answer is.......

:hourglass No  :badpc:  :badpc:

Oh well, I'll try again next week.

Happy Easter everyone! pirate:(closest thing I could find to a bunny, lol)

Wonderful news to hear that your mother is going. You will make some beautiful memories together! :)

Hi Everyone. Looks like I beat my sister in law to the boards.
We have a hold on 4 cabins and we are closing the deal tomorrow. Yipeeee. It'll be Disney cruise #6 for me and #7 for my sil. I love last minute bookings. My fish extender is still hanging on my door ready to go at a moments notice.

:welcome:Hi There!
We're excited for your last minute booking too! party:
:grouphug:Who's all in your group??? Give us some info. Where are you from in PA? We live in NE Ohio, about 25 mins to New castle or Chippewa- 1hr to Pitts airport.
Most of us are new to cruising and DCL, read through our past posts and let us know what you think about our plans- we're totally open to suggestions from seasoned cruisers!!!!:thumbsup2
Glad to have you!

:dance3:How many more days on our countdown??? Since we're doin Disney first I think we're at 30some days!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!! :dance3:

:welcome:

Glad you're joining us.

Why do you like last minute bookings? Just curious since we're first time cruisers and EVERYBODY told us to book as early as possible to get the best prices. So you're the very first person who's had anything nice to say about late bookings.

Just one other question (and if you read earlier posts you'll see why): Do you have your room assignments yet?

Hey all -

Popping in to say as of 30 minutes ago, we are officially onboard!! Hope y'all have some room for us!:boat:
I'm Kaykel's sister-in-law and this will be our 7th cruise, with the 8th one coming up in November. Unfortunately, Kaykels and family can't join us after all, BUT we're bringing 2 or 3 fabulous families (neighbors) and it's the first Disney cruise for all of them.
We LOVE these last minute bookings because it's sometimes torture to wait for those long-planned cruises (but it's good torture!). We're sneaking this 4-night in under FL resident rates.

I promise to get caught up on all the posts. Count us in for any meets and/or FE exchanges - we love all that stuff.

Looking forwarding to chatting with everyone.

Forgot to mention ...

Yes, I have a stateroom assigned. Weren't many left but that's the downfall of the last minute FL resident rates. We're in 2142 (oceanview).
Not having your stateroom assignment yet can be a GOOD thing. Often they are waiting to fill up empty rooms with last minute bookers and then it MIGHT mean an upgrade for you! So, Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust to all of you still waiting. And, upgrades can happen even after you are assigned - even up until you check in at the port.
(Of course, this has never happened to me, but I've known plenty of DISers that it has happened to).
