Memorial Week Cruise May 24-29, 2009

Well, I'll be a blue nosed goffer! :scared1:

I had this dream last night that I got my room assignment. So I checked.

Ladies, we've been assigned! Room 2516. The map shows this as a category 9 outside stateroom...we paid for category 12...does this mean we've been upgraded? :scared1: OH MAN AM I EXCITED!! Now we have a window!!!!:yay:

Congrats on your upgrade! Yep, seems the Pixie Dust has found its way to you!:wizard:

:welcome:Hi Donna- Welcome to our group!!!
When you read through the posts you'll see our plans for FE and meets. Let us know if you have any suggestions, we're all newbies! :dance3:
I'll add you to our register! Do you have a prefrence on what night you want (or don't want) to pass out?

:banana:Tina- so glad to see your room number...
and so jealous of your upgrade (LOL)!:lmao:

:welcome: Great to have you onboard!!!

:surfweb: Can't wait to hear any tips you have for us since you're a seasoned cruiser.

We're getting closer now  and I can't wait to go--:cool2:

CUL8--Glad to hear you got a room assignment. A room with a view, nice :yay:

Thanks for the welcome everyone!:goodvibes

As I mentioned, we're *dragging* along 2 neighbor families and this will be their first Disney cruise as well. It's already so much fun to see their excitement building. We'll be starting "Disney Cruising Training Sessions" in our neighborhood shortly in preparation for this cruise! I'll try to get them to join here on the DIS board and join our meet.

As for the FE exchange, I have no preference on what night to deliver. My FE is ready to go, though. Ours hangs in our Mickey/Cruise themed Bonus Room just waiting for the next trip.

And, feel free to ask away with any questions you have. While this is cruise #7 for us (with #8 in November and #9 is a "dummy reservation" waiting to be transfered to the new ship), we always try to do something new each time. Last cruise (Nov 08) we finally participated in the Mickey 200 - the team race with cars made of potatos and carrots. It's a riot! We also finally made it to the Heads Up Bar on Castaway for a Konk Cooler.

So that leads me to a piece of advice. Go into the cruise knowing that you can't possibly do everything! But that's why you look forward to future cruises!

But I WANT to do it ALL! :hyper: Do I have to sleep???:confused3 Can we come to the 'Disney cruise training sessions' too? :mickeyjum

We're getting so excited here. I think all I do is read these boards, lol. I'm on a first name basis with the people on the sites and starting to consider everyone family. :upsidedow I read someone's post the other day and they said they had Disney OCD. I thought to myself, you have it, Hum, I have it bad! :dumbo:

Can't wait to go...I may never come home! :boat:-------Marlene

Hi! we are joining y'all late on this discussion but I just booked our cruise 2 weeks ago! This will be my 10 year daughters and my first cruise. It will be just the two of us going. I ordered the passporter cruise guide and it should arrive next week. I am looking forward to reading all the tips and hearing about all of you.

Ok, I hope y'all don't mind all my late posts. Here are my responses to the get to know you post:

have you cruised before...no

What will you celebrate... Mommy/daughter time :)

Dressing up for pirate night. ..Prob not, DD will wear a tropical dress.

Favorite character...I love them all but especially love the fairies and princesses, and Alice too!

Favorite disney memory... The awe of the first time walking on main street at Magic Kingdom.

3 must do's... Spend quality time with DD (life has been so hectic with competition season just ending) , enjoy the beautiful views, and enjoy Castaway Cay

Time of dinner seating... late

Just for laughs...
coke, pepsi, or pina colada's... Water or fresh lemonade (I'm boring)

I am just so excited about this!! More excited than our Disney trip next weekend. My friend and I are taking our dd's and a friend to Disney and staying at the cabins on April 24th. So, we are looking forward to that too, but the cruise just sounds so cool!!

And, feel free to ask away with any questions you have. While this is cruise #7 for us (with #8 in November and #9 is a "dummy reservation" waiting to be transfered to the new ship), we always try to do something new each time. *Wow.....can you tell me more about the "dummy reservation"? We are starting to plan our next DC and wanted to try for the new ship. Thanks!

Did I say :welcome: Gymstarr yet?

We're happy to have you and you're not too late. We're always excited when someone new joins the group. The more :rainbow: the merrier :jumping1: we always say!

Please do explain the dummy booking...we'd like a booking when the Wonder comes to the west! We've already got one in Dec 2010 through DVC (had to get some points used up) but would LOVE to book on either one of the new ships or a west coast cruise.

Well, I'm sorry to say that I haven't made my FE yet...I have all the stuff to make it, though!

It's just over a month away! My calendar says 36 days away...but we're leaving in 35. We're so excited. We were talking to one of our friends this morning. He's trying to get a group together to go to Disneyland. I felt so bad (and yet happy at the same time) telling him we couldn't go because we're paying for a cruise to celebrate my boys graduations...I NEVER thought turning down a DLR trip would be a happy occurance!

:tink: Stephanie :welcome:

This will be a first cruise for many of us. :boat: Do you plan to do any excursions? What dinner seating did you get?

I guess we'll all have to buckle down and get our F.E. made. My material is bought and cut, now I'm just waiting for my daughter to sew it. I love the idea of the meet and greet. And the F.E. sounds so cool too.

Can't wait to meet everyone--Welcome aboard! :tigger::tigger::tigger:

Hi Stephanie! :welcome:Glad to have you and your DD with us!!!

So, we are leaving in one month from tomorrow!!!!! :cool1:CAN NOT WAIT!!!!

:fish:And... My fish extender is done. I've never posted a picture on the disboards, so thats my plan for this week, to take a picture of it and figure out how to post that pic. So, you all have the pleasure of looking forward to seeing my FE! LOL!:rotfl2:

Stephanie, let us know what room you are in and if you have a preference for what day you want to do your FE pass outs (or if there's a day you can't do). I am updating the FE pass out list and will post a recap for everyone soon.:woohoo:

:bride:Claire, how are the wedding plans coming?? You're probably counting down days til then... Hope all is going well for you guys.:goodvibes

:dance3:Can't wait to see the big cheese and meet everyone! :dance3:

*Wow.....can you tell me more about the "dummy reservation"? We are starting to plan our next DC and wanted to try for the new ship. Thanks!

Didn't mean to confuse anyone. It's an actual deposit for a reservation on a sailing in November of 2010 but we don't intend to actually sail then - in fact, we're due to sail on the Oasis of the Seas on that date. But, it's just sitting there so we can transfer to a sailing on the new ship (2011) and keep the onboard credit and 10% discount (assuming they'll allow that for the new ship). We didn't realize we'd be sailing again before those reservations open up, which is rumored to be this fall.

Hello!
I hope its not too late to join your group. We just found out we are sailing a few weeks ago. This is our first disney cruise! We would love to do the FE!:banana:

:welcome: PrincessE,

We're always happy to have more "friends" onboard! :grouphug: Please read through the post and tell us a lil something about yourself.

See ya real soon---:banana::banana::banana:

:welcome: to those who are new on board!

Almost down to a month when we BOARD the ship!!! party:

I haven't started on the FE at all, that's my project for after finals week!

Kelly Lou Wedding planning is picking up...now all these people want money! :scared1: imagine that! But it's very exciting. We have parties/showers both this weekend and next, so quite busy. I will be ready for a vacation. :stitch2:

:thumbsup2Here are our updates with all of our new cruisers added on. If there's a ? by any of your things please give us the info to update.:surfweb:
Also if anyone needs me to rearrange the passout schedule just let me know.
And, any suggestions/ decisions on a group name yet???:wizard:

Great work KellyLou:surfweb:

I tell you, that the nurse in me has been wanting to crack a joke because of the "passout schedule"...but you've done so much work keeping track of everyone and getting a list together that I just couldn't do it.

I can't believe it's one month away! This is going to be a busy month with graduation schedules and winding down the school year...but we are certainly going to end the month on a high note!!

If I've missed greeting anybody, here's a big hello! We're certainly looking forward to meeting everyone. Has anybody received their DCL mail yet (luggage tags/paperwork)?

Tina
