Membership Magic Beyond

MS certainly doesn’t know what is going on with DL tickets. I pointed outed out that the entire Non Peak time frame was inside the Peak timeframe. I was told they could release new information but right now they did not know.

The DL information is 1 page where WDW is either 10 or 12 pages on the pricing. It’s just crazy who approves these documents.
Seems pretty straight forward Mr. Disney Attorney… you put in writing that everything is non-peak except Christmas time…. now hand over the cheap tickets….. and then let me upgrade them to 5-day tickets!

I do wonder how the tickets will code out on value and upgrade.

Compared to 3day socal specials for winter and summer, those will probably still be ahead and work well to spread.out visits.

These mmb 3dys will come in handy for nov/dec and those wanting to dovetail with obb.

I’m hoping that the IT glitch will let me activate the included memory maker after 2025 because I have memory maker covered in 2025 with my annual pass. :ssst:
If you buy MMB again for 2026 then no problem. The current one expires after 12/31/25

How does the Memory Maker work with this program? Assum 30 days from first use? Our next trip won’t be until next November, do you have to declare a start date?
I was told by MS its 30 days from the day I activate it.

Is it correct that OTU points cannot be purchased until after program starts in January? Or are they letting people buy now for trips after the start (for me, a trip in July)?

If the former then I'll need to borrow points and would later need to buy OTU and then have a reservation with current points modified and then bank the freed up current points. Not insurmountable but it'd be great to save a few steps.

Yeah, there are some formatting inconsistencies from section to section. It comes across as put together quickly by different people.

There are even some language differences where, last I looked, priority lounge access did not require a resort stay but the character meet required a resort stay.

That is messy and may not work right for you. Once you borrow points, those points can't be banked. So borrowing then buying OTP with the MMB 12+12 discount would work and they can probably swap points around for you, but those borrowed points would be stuck & can't be banked.

Right! I'm running risk that the borrowed points could put me into a scramble if I need to cancel the trip, but I'd have that same problem with OTU points. I have 200 points in my next UY, so my thought is that if I borrow 24 now to make a June reservation inside 7 months (not using home resort priority) I can later later use MMB 24 points to apply to the June reservation and have MS "modify" the reservation to use the OTU points first, and I'd then have 24 current points leftover. And I'd then bank the 24 current points to next UY, which would have 24 banked and 176 "current."

I was told tickets you could buy on 1/7 but could not be used until 1/12.

I'm not sure about the OTUP though.

Many pages here. Have the ticket requirements for 5 day pass come up? MS explained that the MMB purchaser must purchase a 5 day ticket to be able to purchase for others. This could be a problem for people who already have an AP but want to buy a 5 day ticket for someone on their reservation. Of course, the ticket could be purchased and payment applied to a future AP (or other ticket) but that's more complicated than it should be. I understand that Disney does not want the MMB purchaser to become a broker and added to reservations to buy tickets for strangers, but that's already mitigated by the max number the MMB purchaser can buy for.

It does have to be for only those in a household so that limits as well.

Interesting though if one is an AP and you want for someone in your household who is not.

I'm the only one in my travel groups that has an AP. We don't usually travel much more than 8 days a year so it's worth it for one of us to have the AP for the merch and food discounts. I also sometimes travel to Florida for work. There's 0 point in buying one for my daughter or husband or parents even with my new ability to renew at a lower tier AP. I want to buy the discounted tickets only for my parents or husband or daughter. Seems odd they don't consider this, but I guess I can still go with Undercover tourist or discounted gift cards to buy tickets.
Yeah - this restriction seems dumb. Effectively you're saying the MMB purchaser cannot take advantage of the Sorcer's Pass benefit without losing the ticket discount benefit. Seems odd given the overall list of benefits is already quite limited

That said, the WDW ticket discounts don't look that great compared to other alternatives....and I am also confused why it is a mid-week only ticket yet they list activation dates and pricing for weekends as well.

I just got done chatting with a CM/agent and asked that OTU question. They said nothing starts until January 12. So OTU can not be bought today to fill out a reservation in 2025. I'd have to wait until Jan 12 to book. In addition, they said none of the benefits will start until Jan 12. They said I had to wait until Jan 12 to use pts to buy anything.

Also, the CM said only direct points, as of now, can be used to buy the sorcerers pass. I have both direct and non-direct. Only my direct points could be used.

There seem to be be too many restrictions on all the benefits, how you can buy the tickets, what pts can be used, etc. The only one that seems even okay is the OTU pts. I might consider the sorcerers pass not sure yet if that's a good use of direct pt though.

I expected the points to be only those that are eligible for trades, though had hoped they would allow resale points grandfathered for use at new resorts.

I hope that owners who have an AP end up being allowed to buy the tickets for household members.

The date of the program beginning has been there so we will have to wait until then to see exactly what and how it works in practice!

Even though it doesn’t come as a surprise that direct points are required. I would assume it would be in the T&C if you had to use direct points or if all points qualified.

Most is not well put together and reads like a slapdash exercise. This has probably not been high on Disney Legal's queue and it seems like DVD didn't think of all answers before this was all put together for Legal. It's speculating, but Disney likely needed more time to nail this all down but it ended up rushed to meet deadlines to start in January.

Wow. Direct only and you can’t be an AP who just adds on some tickets for friends and family? Massive fail.

I need to find out about the Disneyland side….

Considering there's no reason to buy now I hope people reading this and on the fence decide to wait until we have more information to fill in the gaps.
Not unless there is a max number of MMB memberships to be sold. But who knows.

Haha I'm able to buy it too, even as an international owner 8-)

Or at least the buy now option is now active, it wasn't before.
I live in Delaware and was given the same code response . When I called MS they could not figure out why I wasn't permitted to buy ,we are current with our MF have never defaulted on anything. That was on Monday and we still haven't received a phone call or email explaining the problem or letting us know it's been straightened out.

Ok, so I called MS to ask the following questions about DLand tickets:

1) What days are peak and what days are non-peak for DLand?
2) What tickets would a wholly unused ticket be eligible to upgrade to (as stated in the terms and conditions)?
3) Is the member who purchased the discounted ticket required to purchase a ticket for themselves if purchasing for others? What if they already have a MK/AP?

Answer after being very nice and reading through all of the small print: “Those are great questions and I can not find the answers to them right now, but I will bring it up to my team and see if we can get the FAQ updated when we do and make sure that those questions are in the training before the program goes live on January.”

So, that tells me that we aren’t missing anything and that we need Disney to give us some clarification. My MK expires at the end of Feb, so I have the flexibility to wait until then.
