I have a December Use Year too. I think what I will do is wait till May to purchase OTU points for a fake reservation in December, so that the OTU points fall under 2025 Use Year. Then I can cancel this reservation and I will have these 24 points to use until November 2026 as long as I am booking a room in the 7-months window, correct? Any issue for doing this?

I honestly don't get why so many people pulling the trigger on this?

Are ANY benefits usable before January 12?

• Can you use the lounge with priority?
• Can you buy discounted tickets?
• Can you buy OTU points with BOGO?
• Can you buy or renew Sorcerer Pass?

If not, can someone give me a reason to buy this before January 12 because I asked MS the same question and they couldn't tell me...

Just keep your $99 invested in a Money Market Fund or High Yield Savings Account for another 6 weeks. Why pay it out now?

There are no disadvantages of buying it now. If you buy now or in January it will still expire 12/31/25

Yeah I could make $1-$2 if I invested the $99 but I don’t care that much.

It’s Christmas time and as an international owner I wasn’t even supposed to get but I did. Maybe I couldn’t have gotten it if I waited - maybe I could. But why take the risk.

Yes that would work.

If the upcoming trip was booked within 7months you can call on Jan 12th to make a separate booking (a throw away for a random date that needed exactly 24 points) then cancel that new random booking and you should be able to swap the OTUP for some points in the upcoming trip. I don’t believe they’ll give you OTUP for the explicit purpose to swap them out, though I could be wrong.

Unless I’ve misunderstood though, the problem you’ll run into is the same as the person above who wanted to do this. If the trip is in January and you call on Jan 12th and get your points to do the swap, the swap will be happening within the 30 days so those newly freed point will go into holding and defeat the purpose of freeing those points :/

When we can buy and get the bogo can we get them for our ‘24 UY and for our ‘25 UY?

I have a OTUP question. I have a Dec UY, upcoming trip on January 17th. Can I call on January 12th, ask to buy 24 OTUP and have them applied to my existing vacation? Then I would have 24 of my 2024 points back that I could do whawant with? My goal is to use OTUP for a 4 day weekend in November 25. What's the easiest way for this to happen? If I book a dummy reservation that uses 24 OTUP instead, can I keep moving it forward to November at my home resort or will those points be blocked if it's not within 7 months?

For the Jan you can swap out BUT since it's within 30days the swapped points will go into holding

Because it’s December, and I have about 7 million things to do in the next few weeks, so getting something out of the way now, rather than adding it to the pile I have between now and the first week of next year makes a good bit of sense to me. Losing out on the $.75 in interest doesn’t really move the needle for me.

The earnings depend on your card.

I have the no AF so I just earn 1% on everything but I don't use it on anything except to get free shipping or a discount on shopdisney or if I can get a 5% offer through chase.com/mybonus

You will earn whatever % earned though and then you can wipe it out so you sort of double dip.
Before you had to transfer to a Redemption card which required a minimum of $20 Disney Rewards dollars for a new card or $10 to transfer to an existing card.
Then when you used that redemption card you weren't earning anything back.

With shopdisney they sometimes split the charges up based on shipping and one of mine was for $0.03 so I was able to wipe it out very easily with the PYB using only $0.03 instead of having to have $10 to transfer.

Ah, I had not realized I could double-dip that way. I do that with my Amazon store card (get the 5% back, then use it as a statement credit). I will so be putting my APs on my card and then using points to wipe it out from now on. Thank you for this tip!

I do have the Premier card so that I get the 2% back, as I will put our Disney Cruises on the card (and DVC purchases) for the extra 6 months 0% so that my money sits in my savings/investments longer. But all my other travel goes on my Sapphire card for the 3% back in Ultimate Reward points, that I most often transfer for airline rewards.

For me, it's FOMO and not trusting that Disney might not limit the number of people who can purchase this. I debated on whether to snag a Disneyland AP and then lost out, so I want to make sure I can have this for next year because I will get good value from it and don't want to risk that Disney decides to stop selling it if a lot of people buy it.

Has Disney clarified that they are working on having it available to those who reside outside the US? I don’t understand how they can offer a program to only a specific sect of members and not the entire club?

Because they are incidental benefits, they can make the terms and conditions whatever they want, and that would included making things only available to US residents.

I don’t understand why it’s the way it is and let’s hope they decide to make t open to all…unless there is some legal reason they can’t.

Never used OTUP so apologize for the ignorance What happens to OTUP if the reservation is made within 7 months but subsequently modified to 11 months? Ie make a reservation today for May then modify it to November

You can’t…the pints won’t show up as a choice for home resort booking because the points you get can be from any home resort….they won’t necessarily match what you own.

I’m pretty sure it’s per UY so if you have a Mar UY and want to book something for February 2025, you can buy OTUP and I assume, in the same call, you can have them book you something for April and get another 24pts for your 2025 UY.

Anyone who is part of the program can buy OTU any day during the benefit period for use under the same rules as always.

So, you can wait and buy OTU points with the special until end of December for any trip happening 7 months or less….this program goes until Dec 31st, so as long as you purchase by then, you are set.

Not 100% positive, but my understanding is you’d get the full allotment of points per UY, so yes, 12 BOGO for each.
