Member services computer bombed

While I was booking my reservation tonight the system locked up took my points but no reservation no was booked .
It did it twice before i was told it would be held manually until IT fix the problem:confused3

You know... you would think with all the technology at Disney... Never mind. That horse is SO dead.
 
Had a similar problem a few weeks ago with my account and the new system not working right.

It would not allow me to change my room. They did put a room in holding for me and today, after almost two weeks, it was finally resolved!!!!

It is so nice to have the confirmation and see it on the member site. Even though they said it was on hold, you just hold your breath until you know it is set.

I am sure that it will be taken care of but it may take them a little bit.

That's why I really question if there will ever be a system where members could book online.
 
Hopefully this will be worked out with some of the upgrades they have scheduled for the upcoming outages.

With probably a hundred or so calls logged to MS over the years, I've not experienced a single glitch, either computer or human related. So while I recognize that these things do occur, I expect they are relatively few and far between in the total scheme of things.
 
This will happen until all the systems at the Resort are switched over to the new lodging system. DVC has already switched to their new system, but the Resort's are still on their older system until their phase of the roll-out. Just bear with them as once the Resorts switch to the new system (which is what DVC's new system is designed to communicate better with), then it should be better overall.
 
I had a nearly identical experience a couple days ago. It also took a day or so for the new reservation to show up in my "Vacation Details".

Almost happened to me last week. CM made some comment about her computer locking up and put me on hold for a few minutes. When she came back to the phone, she said that they fixed it and everything was alright.

I made a reservation on Wednesday which did not show up on the DVC website until the next day. However, the reservation was immediately reflected in my total points. My first glitch!
 
As a new member, I just made our 2nd reservation today and I was pleasantly surprised at how it all went. It showed up on the DVC site right away (or least right after I got off the phone). I was also pleasantly surprised that I got what I wanted - I was worried that everything would be booked, but I got a lake view studio at Bay Lake for the middle of May no problem!
 
I recently got a second snail mail confirmation for a future reservation - I thought it was odd at the time. Maybe they are having more cut over related issues that we know about.
 
We are going through something similar. We had a reservation book at BLT for February and I called to add an extra day. The system wouldn’t let them so they put the extra day on hold for me. Two days later I logged into my account and my reservation no longer showed up and my points were credited back to me. I freaked out and called MS and they said the reservation is still there and it’s being held for me. Yesterday was a week since this happened so I called back and they are still having the same issue but they assured me my reservation was there and being held. I will be nervous until this is resolved. Surely IT should have it fixed by now!

Until Disney FIRES the IT shop.... expect very little. I work with "incompetent" IT personnel and honestly they make Disney look bad.

Everyone keeps wanting "self service" Umm.. if it's run by the same "incompetence" :scared1: I don't want any improvements. They just break new stuff! IMHO that's not an "improvement"

With the IT changes our reservations both got new confirmation numbers. Any chance that the latest snail mail gives you the new confirmation number?
 
now have to wait till 11 am and try to book if it's back on line:goodvibes
 
Tried to check availability today by phone and was told the system was down and to try back in a few hours....It is definitely time for a overhaul of the system
