Granny, I just know if my DH hears "Welcome Home" as we're boarding, his AMEX card will be whipped out in record time.

You know, last month when DD was diagnosed with Mono, they said there's no treatment, just to get a lot of rest. Little did the Doctor know that asking "do you want to go on a special cruise?" is the perfect cure.

I can't think of being in better company than with my DVC "family."

I really want to go! I still have to convince my husband. Before the point chart was published he was all for it. Now he is having second thoughts. I think I need to get my 4 year old on his case.

It's going to our 25th anniversary and already planning to be in Florida so count us in.

Kids will still be in school. DW Sue tells me that early February is prime time for the florist business, so she can't take any time off. And I'm using one third of my 2003 points to attend DIScon 2002. All things point to no DVC cruise for me.

(I guess I'll just have to be satified with my $99 cruise this November)

All cruises are SPECIAL. And as you know DIS members are able to post on any thread on the boards unless a moderator chooses to close it and you know what, it doesn't cost me anything extra for the opportunity. Have a great trip while you are overpaying for a fairly basic 4 day Bahama cruise.

We just got our DVC postcard and will be trying to find a way to fit this into the schedule!

The chance to cruise with a boatload of DVC members is tough to pass up and, in my mind, qualifies this as a "special" cruise.

In addition, I'm not a big fan of Bahamian ports, so a second day at Castaway Cay is truly another "special" reason to enjoy this opportunity.

Also, it's really tough to pass on a chance to spend time with Regina, Robin, Carol Ann and Cathy!!

I hope to see you all on the cruise.

Our DD's high school dance team qualified last summer to go to the UDA dance nationals at WDW. I said I would go along as a chaperone. The national competition is the same time as the cruise, so whether DH and I go on the cruise is dependant upon if our local school board gives its approval to the dance team to attend nationals at their meeting on Monday night.

The upside is that I get Disney either way. The down side is that if the team goes to nationals, I'll be staying at the All-Stars.

We won't be there. It sounds fun though. I hope you get some really good perks for the extra points/cash involved.
We are already booked on a cruise towards the end of January and I am not trading in a 7 day cruise for a 4 day cruise!

It is actually cheaper points-wise than the 4 day we are taking at the end of June--but if you factor in the no-pay days I'd have to take off from work the cost goes up! They just frown on teachers taking days off for cruises and things for some reason . I'm still looking forward to our cruise in June though!
Towncrier I worked part-time at a florist in college, and I guess for your DW the cruise is a little too close to Valentine's Day!!!

I still might have to knock on someone's door to make my call on Saturday. Keeping my fingers crossed that we're not traveling at 9:00am. I don't know if the cell phone battery will last long enough. I have a feeling that there's going to be a looooong hold time.

I hope to! I will be celebrating a "significant" birthday in February and this would be the perfect gift. I know it's more points, but frankly I would pay extra to stay at Castaway Cay and not ever go to Nassau or Freeport!! I hope we can work it out! We were planning to do a vacation with friends in a GV in summer 2003, so I hope I can swing the points. There is always the add-on to be done!!!

DVCREG: Where will you be knocking on doors? I may knocking on people's door that Saturday along with you! We'll be in Martha's Vineyard and I'm praying my cell phone holds out too!

I must admit that I wasn't too pleased when I first saw the point chart, but it is a DVC exclusive cruise and that along with being with my family is special.

I contacted MS to see if I can give my info to a trusted DVC buddy, but they said no, they can only make the arrangements with the member him/herself.

I'm investing in a car adaptor for the cell phone. There's no way I'm going to be on hold, finally get a CM and hear the death knell of the phone battery.

I'm new to DIS and have never taken a cruise. When the points are listed for either the regular or this special cruise as "per person, double occupancy and apply to 1/2nd passengers...."..... Does that mean for two of us to go it would be 166 for a Dlx family stateroom or is it 332? I just can't tell for sure.

The points are per person. For cruises, the first two passengers are charged the same, whether it's point or cash, regardless of their ages.

Have to admit, that although we could probably swing the points, DH is in the Army at Academy at West Point, and I teach at the school there. No way can we get the time off to join all of you ! Maybe when DH retires. Oh well. Have a great time all of you.(Especially all of you DVC'ers from the Hudson Valley of NY)

Does anyone know what the cash price per person would be? If one used points, could the other be cash? Don't know if we can do all points, but one on cash would be okay. Any help anyone can give is appreciated!

I'd love to go, but don't know if I can get time off work as Feb is the beginning of our tax season! Have to ask my boss. Wish me luck.
