What if I need medical care while I'm in Anaheim? Any urgent care clinics in the area?

I'm here now, and apparently been bitten by a spider or something. I have swelling and redness on my knee.

I'm going to inquire at guest services at the hotel, but I'm wondering what you all would recommend.

I'm not sure about urgent care centers in the area, but I do know that the first aid services in DL are wonderful. If you stop in there, a nurse could look at it for you (free of charge) and recommend where to go for treatment if they can't take care of it there.

Good luck!

I'm sure the hotel would know but you can also look in the phone book. We had to do that to find an urgent care out town. Take care and let us know how you are doing! :flower3:

I am not sure about Urgent care since I personally have never used them. I would suggest that if it is really bad to go to either UCI or Anaheim Memorial. Those are two facilities that I would trust to go to myself.

They are wonderful at first aid; I can vouch for that. My DFIL had a mini stroke in the park a few years ago, and they were fabulous to help out.

UC Irvine is a great hospital. :thumbsup2

I know there is urgent care in Anaheim (I've seen one in the shopping center by Ralph's), but I don't know anyone who has been there.

The hotel recommended an urgent care place at the corner of Lincoln and State College. I went at 8 this morning right when they opened. The Dr. didn't think it was a bite, no lesion on the skin surface. He thinks it was an infection under the skin. They gave me an antibiotic shot and a 10 day supply of antibiotic (in the office, thankfully, so I didn't have to go to a pharmacy. He also marked the size and wants me to stop back in tomorrow so they can see if it has changed. It is much better so far today, smaller and less red. Thanks for your help.

I know there's a clinic type place in the area, but can't remember where, for sure the Hotel could probably help. My friend and I ate at a pizza place that was across the street from Disneyland a few years ago, and she got really bad food poisoning. It was awful because it was just us two and we weren't familiar with the area, but we did manage to find that place.

Good to think ahead, I know where the closest library is :goodvibes .

I'm glad it's already getting better.

Your post now has me on my insurance website, finding the covered place in Anaheim. I'm sorry you had a problem, but know that you've helped me out for "just in case" purposes.

NOw the question is...did you go on Grizzly yesterday? My legs react horribly to that water, and since we LOVE the ride, I get splashed quite a bit.

Good to hear you were able to find treatment. I had a skin infection last year that appeared suddenly over the weekend and also went to an urgent care. They did the same thing for me, gave me antibiotics and marked it. Forturnately it went away. So sorry that happened on your trip! :sad2: Hopefully you can enjoy the rest.
