I’m sure this has been addressed multiple times so I apologize for a repeat.

I’m a local but just far enough away that sometimes I like to stay overnight. I often go to the Hilton because I’ve scored some great prices and the rooms are huge. I always get the ART bus from just outside the lobby but that’s going away soon.

I’m headed to the parks Sunday and am considering staying over and going also Monday. So, I’m thinking maybe I ought to check out an alternative where I can park my car at the hotel and get to the parks on foot or via hotel shuttle.

What are some recommendations?

Have you made the walk from the Hilton*? It's not that far. I always walk it, cutting down that little service road by the parking garage and loading docks. It isn't the closest though that's for sure, but I have found it manageable. If you do want to be closer, you can't beat the Tropicana for location. I've stayed there - it was basic but decent - the rooms are smaller than at the Hilton though. The staff was super nice (well, such that it is - the one person at the desk that I think was there every time I walked by!). It works.

*Disclosure: I work for Hilton.

I haven’t made the walk. I’ll be honest, any extra walking on a park day is not exactly something I want to do lol. I just got back from WDW and walked 117 miles while there. My Hokas are good but… I’m old and lazy now.

I’ll check the Tropicana later. Thank you.

Then you probably want to stay between Manchester and Disney Way on Harbor Boulevard, except for hotels that have their own shuttles. I know the Candy Cane Inn does; other readers can inform you about other hotels that do.

It's not so bad in the morning, but it can be a slog at night! 🤣

We stayed at the Hilton in December and used the buses from the Toy Story lot.

Anaheim majestic and candy cane inn have dedicated shuttles. Hyatt regency Orange County has a shuttle. $7 per person per day.

Walking distance we love park vue inn and if you’re looking for more budget friendly places, Alpine inn on Katella. They give a discount for repeat customers. Wyndham Anaheim is also nice and has free parking.

We have used the Hampton Inn + Toy Story shuttle trick for a few of our trips in recent years. The shuttle to the parking lot does help alot on the way back from the parks!

Last year we did the Howard Johnson and enjoyed it being a closer walk as even the Toy Story shuttle to Hampton is a bit of a hike. This year I think we are going to the Home2 Suites just down the street from the Howard as we prefer Hilton properties.

That's a good idea, because distances can be deceiving on maps, and we know that some hotels try to say they're a shorter walking distance to DL than they really are.
@LKing, thanks for the shoutout!!!

Yes. That’s exactly why we started the channel. Got fooled in the late 90s by a “Maingate” hotel that was super far away.
