ME Tags have no flight info on them?

Ok everyone bear with me... I have been to DIsney innumerable times but NEVER have used DME, we have always rented a car. However since we are only going to be there 4 days this time, for some unknown reason the rental cars are exceptionally high ($160!), so we are going to try to use Disney transportation exclusively...:scared1:

I have signed up for DME, and given them our flight info, and received DME tags about 2 weeks ago (6 weeks before we leave) it has the resort on it (POP) and dates but no flight info. Can I use these tags and still just drop them off at the airport and not see them until they arrive at the room? Or should I call Disney and have them resend them? We arrive on May 20th... So I dont know if there would even be enough time. Since I have never done this I am a complete newbie. Thanks for anyone's thoughts or assistance!

Your tags are fine. All that is needed is the destination. All info is in the barcode on the tag.

Your flight info should be on your ME tickets in your ME packet. If the times are incorrect (incoming doesn't matter, just departure), simply correct it at the ME desk at MCO. It is much easier that way so you get the proper departure time from your resort.

The info is in the barcode.

You just attach your ME tags to your luggage...check them in when you arrive at the airport...the bags will be collected by ME from MCO and then delivered to your hotel room. It can take up to 3 hours to receive your bags so plan accordingly.

TIP: Pack any items in your carryon that you may need within a 3 hour time frame upon check-in.

I have never had any issues with ME luggage delivery. We use WDW transportation exclusively for every trip and it is always smooth sailing. :cloud9:

Your airline is still going to put their baggage tags on the checked bags so that they will direct where your bags are going. The airline tags will be what are read through the airports and how they get to MCO.

The ME tags are what the baggage handlers at MCO see to pull them from the line to go through the Disney ME process to get to your room. Thus, the ME tags will have only resort information that WDW cares about.

Long story short...DME doesn't really care what flight you arrive on. They need only a 'ball park' figure of the number of people arriving before noon, after noon, etc. That way they can dispatch enough buses. I have had my flights change several times after making my DME reservations....I don't call them to give them updated info, unless my arrival day changes. I don't care about arrival times...just the correct day.

Now, with that being said...they do care about your departure flight info. When you get to MCO and DME checkin, you will most likely be asked about your departure info. They need it to be accurate so that they can give you the correct p/u time on your last day.

Also, keep your DME booklet out when you arrive at MCO. They will scan the bar code, direct you to the proper lane, and then scan your voucher bar code again before you get on the bus.

Wow thanks for all the great replies! You all really made me feel a little bit better about all of this. :)
