McCain Vs. Obama

McCain all the way. I just don't like Obama. I don't want a man for president who hasn't even visited Iraq in years. Who went to church for 20 years with a pastor like the Rev. Wright. Even though he did leave the church its to little to late. If America elects Obama I'm moving out of the country. I don't care if I have to live on the streets. We will be in big trouble. The man has no experience at all and McCain has it. He's been to war. He knows what our troops are going through. All five of my great uncles and my grandfather all served in WW2. I'm proud of them and I'm proud of the troops serving now. This war is not for nothing. They attacked first just like Japan attacked us. Let the troops do their job. God Bless you all.

Do what's best for America VOTE MCCAIN!!!

To what country are you moving? Do you know how other countries view Americans?

Why do you think we will be in big trouble? My dad served in WW2 as well.
Nice

Who attacked us first? Iraq? Afghanistan?
Umm was that before that beautiful pipleline was in place?

If you join something and belong for 20 years, that means you support the organization, you may not agree with everything they say or do, but you do agree with more than not, or you wouldn't have stuck around for 20 years.

As the PP said, if a white candidate belonged to a church that had a preacher that had a stated belief in supporting a particular race, that white candidate would be blasted to kindom come. You can't have it both ways, if it is wrong for one side, then it is wrong for the other.

And just to be clear, I don't like any of the 3 left in the race at all.

You are right, but here is the thing. White candidates say it ALL the time. White America just does not find it offensive because they are not empathetic or sympathetic.

If Obama ends up the Dem choice, I'll be voting McCain.

If Clinton ends up the Dem choice, I could be persuaded to leave my party and vote for Clinton.

:teeth:

I'm Catholic, have attended mass regularly for the past 25+ years and I have never heard a Catholic Priest go on like that man did.
My gut instinct when I saw that was...Does the pope know this priest is out there? ;) I was ready to e-mail the Vatican. Great...saw something else unbecoming of a priest. It was overboard.

McCain is far enough away from Bush to get my vote.

Given the alternative, that is my only choice.

I think taxes are going to have to be raised no matter who is in office. I'd rather pay for our debt than have China pay for it.

What about paying for this war? Do poeple not think that the war will eventually cause taxes to go up. I know a member of congress on the readiness commitee who has said that we have so much equiptment to replace, that money has to come from somewhere.

Exactly why is it OK to have a "Black Church" but not ok to have a "white Church"?

Who said it wasn't OK?

All the churches I've ever attended have been black located in black neighborhoods. (oh wait, can I say black neighborhood) Naturally the church members are black. The same can be said for churches in white neighborhoods.

I used the word black to describe the people who attend the church.

Let's not pretend that the vast majority of churches across this country are integrated.:lmao:

I attended a black college (an HBCU) I assume you have a problem with that also.:rotfl2:

I think you’re just looking for a reason to be offended.

I have 3 cousins that have been to Iraq. One just retired from the Air Force. Another will retire from the Air Force in 2 years. I have an uncle who fought in Viet Nam. They all support Obama.

Which country are you planning to move to?

Oh, I agree! I'm a lifelong Catholic and I have NEVER seen anything remotely like that. Even his "apology" was over-the-top. After the strong statement from the Archbishop, I thought he'd show a bit more remorse.

It's not just about Hillary, he shouldn't be talking about any of God's children that way.

The goverment gets plenty of money. They just squander it on needless things. They need to trim the fat just like the rest of us have to.

I don't see how they can expect the middle class to be squeezed anymore than they are.
Oh come on sure he is...he is doing a great job uniting the Hillary supporters and the McCain supporters on the DIS....:santa:
So what are the HS supporters doing to unite people? Or does that not matter at all to you?

The OS try to talk about issues like health care and choice, the issues that once united us all as Democrats, but the HS denounce talk of issues as "bashing" and/or "scare tactics." Ok, so issues are off the table for HS.

The majority of OS try to talk about uniting around the eventual Democratic nominee and continually reaffirm that they will respect the DNC acting within the law and its rules and should the SD's choose Hillary we (most of us) will vote for her. But the HS don't want to talk about that either. They will only accept the DNC choosing Hillary. So, there's no uniting there with the HS.

Of course, the HS do offer a plan called "counting the popular vote," which I guess is their way of uniting. However, since that is not the rules of the DNC and that discounts the voters in the caucus states, it's really not much of uniting is it?

Now, as for McCain uniting -well the HS may very well be able to unite with the cons for this election, but we'll see how far that goes when he makes appointments to the SC, and does nothing to reform health care, and the economy gets worse .... Because at the end of the day -issues do matter.

How do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you end your comment with that statement? Are you serious? Do you really believe that?

Wow. Five whole pages of posts, and practically no mention of actual issues at all. Why am I not surprised?

McCain - For continuing the war indefinitely.
Obama - For ending it as soon as responsibly possible.

McCain - Against a woman's right to choose.
Obama - For it.

McCain - For the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy (after he was against them).
Obama - For rolling back the cuts only on the top percentage to help provide relief to the middle class.

McCain - For continued torture.
Obama - Against it.

McCain - For having an Executive Branch that is not answerable to anyone.
Obama - Has, you know, actually read the Constitution.

McCain - "Doesn't know much" about the economy, per his own admission.
Obama - Has a plan to help the economy.

McCain - Has a health care plan that could cost everyone reading this more money.
Obama - Has a health care plan that won't affect most people while endeavoring to get health coverage to those that don't have it.

McCain - Can't tell the difference between Sunni and Shiite without Joe Liebermann.
Obama - Is fine without Jiminy Cricket on his shoulder to correct him.

McCain - Aggressively courted the endorsement of someone that said Hitler was sent by God to get the Jews to move to Israel.
Obama - Had a preacher that said things to make white people uncomfortable.

Now...let's see. We've got a flailing economy, thousands of soldiers dead with no end in sight, a housing crisis that could see thousands of people losing their homes, $4.00 per gallon gasoline at the pumps, the rebuilding of an American city that was drowned on the current administration's watch, a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan, and a Supreme Court that already leans to the right and has two of the more liberal justices drawing very near to the end of their terms.

But yeah...let's make sure we focus on what happens at Obama's church when he isn't even there.

Sometimes, I think this country deserves another Bush administration. Which is good, because if so-called Democrats go out of their way to make sure McCain wins in November, that's exactly what we're going to get.

McCain = if you always do what you always did then you'll always get what you always got. IOW, if you're happy now with the way things are going in the government, vote for McCain.

Obama or Clinton = change, peace, calm, American pride, better world relationships thus power, choice, privacy, getting our Constitution and Bill of Rights back, awesome!!! IOW, if you seek change, vote for Obama or Clinton.

Unfortunately, so many people view BO as the candidate of 'change'. Perhaps a look back into his political rise from community worker to candidate for POTUS in 12 short years would enlighten them about the age-old Chicago political machinery backing this candidate. Change???

I don't think I could support Obama. He is too much like Bush. With the exception of Iraq, Obama wants to do everything Bush has done, only more. Everyone of the liberal programs the Bush administration has supported and spent money on, Obama's been right there attacking Bush saying he wasn't spending enough money; the programs weren't big enough; weren't expansive enough; government didn't have a big enough role in the lives of the people, etc. How big is big enough? We can't afford to go into more debt. We do not need 4 more years of the same failed liberal domestic policies that Bush has brought us. Now is the time for change, real change.

Actually not, but you also can't tell me I am wrong. If people were to say I attend a "white church" they would be blasted, but for some reason it is acceptable to say I belong to a white church. It is ok for you to have attended a "Black College" but if someone attempted to set up a "white College" they would be in Court within minutes.

If people want equality and unity then both sides of the equation have to stop.
