MB versus KTTW card entry --> FP- question

I'm sure this is answered somewhere already, but I can't find it.

My party of 6 has magic bands and FP+ reserved already. Can I get to the park early with all 6 KTTW cards to be a runner, pull FP-, and then the other 5 folks get in with MB entry?

Put a different way - do the KTTW cards have to be used for park entry in order to function in the FP- machines?

KTTW card doesn't need to be used for entry to be used for FP-, but they will not work to pull them until their MB is used to get into the park.
