MB - Problems

We were not sure if we would do the early hour for children, but, we have 2 different reservations, our DD, her DS(4), and DH, have a room, and in our room 3 adults. So, I would think they would let my DDs' party in but not ours.(no child on our ressie) Wonder if this is how it works? Not very well thought out on their (WDW) part. :confused3

Do you honestly think they're going to turn resort guests with children away at the turnstiles?

I really don't think that you're gonna have trouble with a 7 year old. Toss 'em in a stroller and roll on! ;)

Look, they aren't going to be asking for passports on these kids~they are just going to eyeball them and let them pass. Also, it's not even reasonable to think they will ask which parties are staying in which room~they will not separate your party. IMHO, if you have a child looking even close to 4 or 5, you won't need to sweat it, however, if you are a party of all adults they will probably question your admittance during that hour.

I doubt they will turn anyone away - even all adult parties - with a resort ID. They probably hope that guests will self-select not to come if they don't have preschoolers. I'll be interested in hearing reports after it starts. We won't be there until 8/25.

I'm not sure what to do now. We were planning on going to MK next Friday which is a Little Ones magic hour, getting to the park at opening(normally 9am) , in this case 8am, w/LO. DDs are 10 and 15. I hadn't really known about LO when I planned our days (and ADRs). Now I'm wondering if we should not go to MK that day. It's going to be a huge pain to try and reschedule ADRs. Then again, the crowds will probably be big. What to do??? :confused3

No offense, but you should just follow their policy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are rules and regulations for a reason...............let the preschoolers enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :furious:

Magical Beginnings is geared for preschool children. What benefit is it if all ages are admitted?! Just like we follow the 3 and over must pay rule, folks should respect the 5 and under age rule for this too. Imagine telling someone to toss their 4 year old in a stroller and get in free!

I agree with the poster who said adults without child being there is just clogging up the lines for the little ones. But what about those of us who have kids of all ages? Are we supposed to leave our oldest(6) behind with a parent while the others go? That's just silly. Besides, they can't enforce a age limit. I bet this is just miscommunication. Like always.

Sorry, wasn't saying we should be let in, just that I wish Disney could have a posted policy on this and have their CMs know. 3 Cms all have different answers for this. Personally I think it is a great idea, only wish it was available when mine were younger. We'll just wait in line until 9 to get in.
Don't assume we were trying to run over toddlers to ride Dumbo. ;)

If you have kids that are in the MB age limit (under 5, 5 and under, whatever it is) than your entire PARTY can enter the park early. They aren't going to limit it to one adult per toddler.

I honestly don't understand why people are getting so upset by this. I personally think it's a great idea and wish I was going during this time with my nieces!! The rides that will be open early are the rides they enjoy the most and I think they would absolutely love getting in early and riding their favorite rides before the adults take over. What is the big deal if one day you can't get into the park at 8, but at 9? I'm sure if you have an ADR you can still get in, just like you can still get into the park with an ADR on a EHM morning if you aren't staying on site. Or can get into the park before it opens to the public with an ADR, just can't get passed Cindy's Castle.

I told all my friends with young kids about the MB program because a lot of people think their kids are "too young" for Disney. I think this is a great opportunity for Disney to make believers out of people who think 3 & 4 yr olds are "too young to remember." (Those people should just meet my nieces and have them describe everything they know about Disney! LOL)

From the official Disney website:

Little Ones Magic Hour Benefit‡
As a special benefit for Disney Resort Guests, Fantasyland® in Magic Kingdom® Park will open one hour early on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the Little Ones Travel Time. Resort Guests can enjoy an extra hour of fun at select Fantasyland® attractions and fun magical experiences with beloved Disney Characters.

This board is full of misinformation from CM's, I can't believe how worked up everyone gets over something that isn't even confirmed. It isn't even logical that they'd institute a policy of only letting in children under 5 and turn away all their other paying guests with or without older children. This EMH is for resort guests of all ages, the only thing "little ones" about it is only fantasyland is open which is geared toward the younger guests.

As a mother with a toddler, I too was intrigued about this new program and think it is a great idea. I also wondered how Disney was going to make this Little Ones special hour different if they were going to let everyone in, but the one hour early is not why I decided to go for Magical Beginnings. I wanted to go for the entire program, EMH AND the concert series at MGM. Don't get bogged down on one tree when there is a whole forest!

Mickey's Magic and Doodlebops are where it's at! See ya there!

Go to the main site that gives information about this event, and it clearly states that is has been made for pre-schoolers:

If it was strictly for preschoolers they would have spelled it out- they do not want fights at the gate. everything just says RESORT guests never a mention of age. As far as CM's go many of the college program CM's just make things up to answer questions so I don't believe 1/2 of what they say.

I totally agree.

I can't believe this thread has gone from one person having a CM state ages 5 and under TO people now stating specific rules for who will be let in with the child TO people now claiming this is a rule/policy we have to follow.....and all in 3 pages :rotfl: It's like watching the telephone game in action popcorn::

Read the whole page and nowhere in there did I see it state that children over 5 are excluded from anything. That page also lists "philharmagic, turtle talk, crystal palace, etc" all attractions recommended for preschoolers, not excluding anyone who isn't a preschooler from enjoying it also.

We don't have any children who would be potentially traveling with us IF we were going down during that time, so this is somewhat irrelevant, BUT...

In reading about the new program, I've always interpreted it as something they were encouraging families with young kids to do, but not PROHIBITING families without young children from experiencing. It's just their marketing tool, and the highlights of that extra hour are designed to attract young Disney kids.

If, however, your party wants to check it out, I don't see why there should be a problem. The debate over MB is something like the "moral dilemma" over whether an all-adult party should book breakfast at CRT.

ETA: Although I do think it would be funny if they DID try to enforce it with an age restriction...we'd have to rent a kid just to enter the park!!

"Excuse me, ma'am...I see you have two toddlers and a preschooler. Seems to me you have more than the adequate number of children necessary to enter the Magic Kingdom, so would you mind if, just for a little while, I borrowed your son? Just for a bit? Has he had his shots?"

And what about older children with developmental delays that place them in the 'preschool age' mentally, but not physically? Is WDW going to turn that family away? Legally, if they are let in, then WDW cannot turn other children/families away, as the ADA does not allow for superior access.

There are so many ways that having a set age would cause mega-trouble for WDW, so unless they are going to set strict rules, something on the lines of 'one toddler, one adult, no extra adults, no older kids' then I can't see them setting any age limit at all.
