May the Force be with who? A May 2013 PTR

What a day!

UNCLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent the majority of the day with DD at the dentist because as she was walking downstairs at preschool at the end of the day, she missed the last step and landed on her face.

One of her front teeth came out immediately. The other was desperately loose. After I found a pediatric dentist that had an opening, we were off. Yeah, the other tooth had to come out - it was beyond repair.

Kid was a boss though. She only slightly fussed when they gave her the shot and again when they made sure everything was out that needed to come out.

The dentist gave her a bunch of rewards as we left... stickers, glow necklace, plastic ring, and a little bendy ballerina.

I however, am on the lam for a larger My Lil Pony.

I took her home and after a good nap, she and I hit the store to get things that she can eat over the next few days while her spaces heal. We have stocked up on yogurt, Pediasure, and baby food. Yes baby food. I survived on it when I had my wisdom teeth out. If it was good for my 22 YO butt, it's good enough for my 4YO!!! :rotfl2:

Oh no! I hope she's okay.

Hope your DD is doing ok! What a trooper! I'd be looking for that giant my little pony too... Any luck?

Sending hugs your way!!

I haven't had a chance to shop yet. She knows exactly which one so we'll go tomorrow after school. I can't go tonight because I have a dinner out of town and won't be back until late.

Shopping went well. Except it wasn't a My Little Pony. It was actually a FurReal friend toy that is about 4" tall and actually walks. She picked out the one with polka dots.

It was only $10 so I let her pick out a couple other little things. She picked out a squishy Ariel that you can change her dress, and the Disney Princess Squinkie castles that were on clearance for $4 (for the set of eight)!

I picked myself up a 1000 piece artist puzzle of Aurora to go with the Snow White and Jungle Book ones I got for Christmas from my IL's.

DS has had strep for several days and we didn't notice. Parents of the year, right? Yeah no... he has no symptoms. No complaints of a sore throat, he's acting normal, sleeping fine, eating fine. The only symptom was a swollen lymph node, so DH took him to the clinic on Wednesday.

So I took him to get little toy, too. Strep doesn't feel good and he's not made one single complaint! He picked out a Star Wars fighter pod set. They are about the size of a Squinkie (but hard). You put them in these little balls and "battle" them as they spin around like a top. Much like a Beyblade that got shrunk in the wash...

I also let him pick up a gigantic regular Star Wars pen out of the dollar bin. We already tucked away an Angry Birds Star Wars massive pen for the trip, but I like the regular Star Wars one a bit better for our trip.

I'm off soon to go make some Disney money. For the last three years, I've been hired by the high school to photograph the students that earn National Merit Finalist honors. It's usually 1-4 kids and the shoot is done in an hour. I've got two boys to photograph today. It's such a prestigious honor because these kids have to get the top 6% in scoring on the PSAT in their junior year. Our school has the photo taken and a 16x20 picture printed up that they have framed and displayed in the main hall of the high school.

And since we fell behind again... (these are all from DD)

Day 67: see Tiana
Day 66: see Aurora
Day 65: see Rapunzel

My DS hardly ever has symptoms when he gets strep. He usually doesn't have much of an appetite followed by a fever. I used to have to beg the Dr to do a strep test because his throat doesn't get that red. However, every time he has been tested, he has had strep! (I ended up doing a well test to see if he was a carrier... he isn't. But, I didn't even know that was possible!) So now, the Dr tests him every time he has a fever... still + every time. :confused3 (His first trip to the world he had it... keeping antibiotics cold was definitely a challenge!)

Hope your DS starts feeling better soon! It's usually a 2-3 dose turnaround for my little dude.

Awesome score with the toys!! LOVE squinkies!! They're small, but if you step on them barefoot, you don't curse like a sailor! pirate:

I can imagine that would be a nightmare!!! He never acted like he felt bad. Yesterday, DD's lymph node swelled. What a week! Our doctor wrote a script for her too since everyone else in the house had it. This was the first time in my entire life that I was diagnosed with strep. I never had it before.

My FIL is down with the "B" strain of the flu. We will be avoiding them like it's no body's business!

No kidding! That's the only reason I don't mind her having them. It's not like stepping on a Lego or a Barbie shoe...

Except that one time when DD shoved a Zinkie up her nose...

I'm still trying to figure out the best ticket situation for us...

Since joining the agency, I may not have enough time to complete the training and paperwork to get my TA card, which could allow me to get TA discounted tickets for the family.

I can buy them from myself, pay a bit more up front, then take my commission from Disney later OR buy them from UT and not save as much in the long run.

But if I don't buy from myself, I'm not a very good TA! :rotfl2:

To see Mickey, go buy tickets from yourself. It all adds up to your sales track record. :thumbsup2

That's what I'm thinking.

I think I will go for my TA card before the trip - I'd feel better having it, make me more legit, ya know? I hear the process takes about 30 days from start to finish so I may be able to have it before we go, but if not, I'll buy tickets from myself and pick them up at Will Call.

Luckily, after asking around, I can pick them up at ANY Will Call because they'll be in the Disney system. I was petrified if I sent them to Will Call that I'd have to go to a certain location to pick them up. I'm going to have my hands full enough getting my paws on our PP+ voucher at our resort while the rest of the family takes a break.

OH NO!!! Poor kiddo! How is she doing on the baby food? I hadn't thought of that one for soft foods but it makes sense!! Your daughter and mine would be quite the pair right now! My 4 year old just got stitches on her chin from falling on the ground!

Sounds like you are having quite the week with your DS having strep too! That is the hardest when they do not complain about anything then you find out they are really sick! Praying for a quick recovery!

I totally missed the post about your DDs dental incident. POOR BABY! I would have been crying right along with her.

Strep went through the entire house. :sad2:

The girls do sound like quite the pair! Stitches and busted teeth.

She actually refused to eat the baby food after we brought it home. She kept telling us, "I can still chew with THESE teeth" and pointed to her molars. Hot dogs, lots of soup, and mac and cheese have been on the menu. She canined some Doritos the other day and didn't have any trouble.

My biggest worry is her speech. 2-3 years is an awful long time to not have top teeth to form some of her letter sounds.

How's she doing this week?
She's doing really well. She's eating and playing like nothing happened.

I can't get used to her without teeth. I looked at her school picture and her big smile and I just started crying. She's proud of her gap, but I miss her old gap in between her front two teeth. :(

DS is now in a contest to wiggle out his top two teeth so we can have toothless vacation photos. He's decided to leave his teeth for Tinkerbell if they fall out close to or on vacation. <silver lining>
