How hot is it in early may? Just had to cancel a trip and looking to rebook. I could go this December or the first week of may. Late march is also an option. May is probably the best timing wise as it spreads out the trips. But will it be crazy hot?

weatherunderground.com has a great weather history page. They also have a trip planner which can tell you the weather history for any set of days. I'd give you links but don't feel like typing that all in on my phone. Just go to the main page, get the weather for Lake Buena Vista and scroll down to the Weather History & Almanac. It will tell you everything you want to know.

It can vary depending on the weather pattern. Won't be as cold as Dec, but not as hot as summer.

We were there early May this year. There were some "long sleeve" days for me and the kids. Coming from CT, that's high 60s during the day and in the shade. Once you get in the sun, it's probably warm enough for shorts.

We also went into SAB in the early afternoon. My 4yr old kept going between the kiddie pool and the hot tub because he was cold.

We were there in 2011 around Memorial day and it was too hot for us during lunch and early afternoons.

Just realized I posted on the wrong board. Hopefully the mods will move it. Early may sounds fine by your accounts.

I've gone the first or second week of May a few times and it's usually around 90. Not as humid as summer but still hot in the sun.

That sounds too hot for hubby. We cancelled because he has pneumonia. If like to book December because it is soon but hubby isn't really in the place to chat about holidays.

The first two to three weeks of 'May are usually very good. Mid 80s with chance of 90 once in a while but it is not your Florida stifling hot? The humidity is still under control and evenings are quite pleasant. The summer stifling heat and humidity sets in about the end of the third week of May.

Given your choice, and being a native Floridian, I'd go in December. May is one of my "out" months. Meaning I refuse to go to Disney during that time, usually because of heat. It's not as hot as August but it's hot, and humid. If it's not that hot, it'll still be humid, which makes it ten times worse.

We're talking a difference of like 95 in August vs 90 in May. Still hot IMO.

We went once in May (over Memorial Day weekend) and it was not hot at all, really. 70's and 80's. Really nice temps actually. We went once in March that was hotter (upper 80's-90ish). You just never know.

Just booked the end of march. Higher points but what can you do?

We went this past May same time (Memorial Day) and found it to be comfortable temps also. 80's and nice. The crowds were heavy Sat-Sun but cleared out Mon after the holiday.

If he simply had pneumonia, without any underlying risk factors like COPD, cardiac issues, etc, he should be fine by December, March, May...whenever. But that may be a big IF -- and everything depends on his specific medical condition. His doctors would be the best guide.

For a respiratory patient, the humidity in Florida may be more important than the temperature.

While Orlando humidity may be relatively low (for Central Florida) in March-April-May, it may still be somewhat higher than he is used to and could be problematic.

I'd rely on the DRS, rather than the DIS, for that determination.

May & October are our 2 favorite months weather wise ::yes::. July & August just way to hot, December & January can be a crap shoot.

No underlying risk factors related to the pneumonia. He just hates the heat. They anticipate a full recovery.

Great! Late March temps should be as temperate as you're going to get. Have a great trip.

I really don't find the temps In may to be unbearable. It's one of our favorite times of years to go. Don't get me wrong it's in the high 80s low 90s but manageable in my opinion. I have actually been chilly at night in may and needed long sleeves
