Jeff, knowing that you live in the great state of Alabama, I need your insider information on a vital matter. Is Talladega going to be rain out this weekend?

Nationwide race will definitely be rained out today. Looks good for the Sprint cup race tomorrow though. I flew my Cessna 172 down there yesterday, circled overhead and watched about 20 laps of a practice session. They were a lot faster than my airplane! :car:

I noted an updated email from DCL on embarkation in another thread. Key information is the same; however, there's a bit more detail so I updated it on the "Cruise Info" tab. Also added rashdecision to the early dinner group.

Lanyards: Got about half of the badge images done - with the blank made it's a simple cut, paste and save. Laminator is here. Lanyards and name card inserts are scheduled to be delivered today by UPS. :thumbsup2

DIS meets: I put the Embarkation Meet time in the Promenade Lounge at 3:30 pm. If someone thinks it should be earlier or later, let me know.

Jeff I'm not to good at this. where is the cruise info tab.. And of course I don't know if it's to late for lanyards.. Pooh, Tinker, and Mig. we are gm 65,gp 67, gd 21. Thank You if it is to late don't worry we understand completely. Pooh:)

Pooh - No problem. The link to the web site is the first one in my signature below. Just click on it. When you get to that screen, it looks like the one below. Just move your mouse on top of the "Cruise Info" as shown below by the red circle and then click on it. Not too late for the lanyards. I ordered some extras. Consider yourself added. Just need your first names unless you want people to call you Pooh, Tinker and Mig. You can post them here or send me a PM. :)

My frugal self couldn't let it go and I've kept hunting for a private tour in Corsica. I found one tour company so far that can take 8 to Les Calanches for 450 Euros. That would be considerably less (about half) than the DCL tour assuming we have all 8. If there are enough interested, I'll get more info. Rashdecision, your six plus us 2 would make the 8. Would you be interested?

Hi everyone,

The site has been asked by to relay the following message regarding stateroom door decorations on DCL ships:

More and more guests are choosing to express their family pride and enthusiasm for Disney Cruise Line by decorating their stateroom doors aboard our ships.

As you might imagine, it is very important to us to keep our facilities looking their best for all our guests.

As part of our commitment to this area of focus, we ask that guests no longer affix anything to their stateroom door utilizing any adhesive or tape.

We have found that these adhesives damage the finish on the stateroom doors and therefore ask that guests limit door decoration to those of the magnetic variety.

Unofficially, what I'm hearing is that DCL is considering the possibility of levying surcharges on people who damage the door finish with adhesives. They're trying to avoid that because the really do appreciate the passion and creativity that people are putting into this, but the issue with the finishes coming off the doors is getting to be a real issue. I know some have already received this notice on-board the ship, but I wanted to make sure it's out there for everyone.

Thanks,
Pete

Don't Know if you have all seen this but I thought it was interesting to know.

Lori-Jo

I can see DCL's point. Having to scrub/paint doors is yet another expense. The magnetic signs look so much better anyway. :)

I'm starting to look into shore excursions now, and thought I'd start on the least familiar - Tunis.

We've narrowed down our interests to trying to see both Dougga and the Bardo museum. Does anyone have any recommendations for drivers in Tunis?

I didn't find any tour providers for Tunis recommended on the Cruise Critic message boards which is where I research the ports. That's why we signed up for our one and only DCL excursion there.

That would be ok for us since I go by Pooh, my dh name is Tinker and our gd nick name is Mig. Thank you so much for all the help. some day I have to find out how to put all my cruises on my page.. oh yes we have been on quite a few..:)

3pm for meet and greet is good for us too. I figure people can come and go between 3 and 4.30 ish - then there's enought time to get back to rooms to pick up lifevests.

Do we want to set up any other meets. - at the moment we have the embarkation day, wine tasting and palo brunches - only embarkation day is open to all (obv kids can't do wine tasting and not everyone can fit into the brunches.

How would people feel if we said 3-5pm on each Sea Day a come and go as you please DIS meet at ??? location. Even if it clashes with say the wine tasting - some families might like to get together.

I'm fairly certain that promenade lounge is used on sea day afternoons for entertainment. I guess we could suggest deck 10 overlooking goofy pool if it's fine and somewhere else indoors if its raining (which it won't be of course!)

Either that or the secret deck on the 7th floor.

Whee! plans, plans, plans, we're making plans for when we're on our cruise in 3 WEEKS! :yay: :dance3:

Is there anyone I could talk into printing off a door magnet for me? I would pay for the magnet paper or whatever! HP, in their infinite wisdom, decided not to create a new Vista-compatible driver for my poor, faithful old printer. I just can't get a decent high-quality printout from it. I was thinking of going to Kinko's or something... don't know if they do that sort of thing. I really kind of wanted a Birthday hat Mickey ears...

I can do it for you. I bought a bunch of magnet paper from Ebay for my last cruise so I have a lot left. Email me the file you need printed.

Jill

Thanks Jeff for working on the badge!!! :thumbsup2

Can you add me to the early seating group? We are on the waitlist for late seating, but my guess is that we won't get it.

Also, I noticed that you don't have any category 5 for the stateroom crawl, if I am not mistaken, I think we got assigned a category 5, so you can add our room as a stop. I would like to go see other categories though.

Send me a PM with your name and reservation # and party number. dfsc:love:

Today has been dreary here...raining/storming...perfect weather for making lanyards and I've got to say they look FABULOUS. This Zyron laminator is so easy to use. :worship:

Roll Call Photo Update: Added pics for taras, ICollectBelle, AppleGuy, Pixiedust519, Ariel412 and Bubby627, and ICollectBelle's friends.

It is with great sadness that we will be cancelling our cruise. My daughter Joanna has been in ICU in critical condition with multi system failure for the past 16 days in Celebration Hospital. We are very lucky to still have her with us. We do not have a discharge date and since she will need to have dialysis and extended care, we will be cancelling our cruise. It was very nice getting to know everyone here and I hope you all enjoy the cruise, I know we were so thrilled to be going. Hopefully we will meet up again on another Disney cruise.

I'm so sorry to hear about Joanna. We will keep her and all of you in our prayers. We will miss you on this cruise and hope our paths cross again! Take care, Anne
