We avoided to pay any excess by putting all our heavy stuff in our carryons. Our carryons were at least 12-15kg,but, Spanair did not even looked at them. I spoke to Ron after he got charged for the excess and I could feel his pain, 300 Euros

New thread - From the Med to the Panama Canal

Hi everyone,
There were many of us on the Transatlantic & the first 11 night cruises that are going on the Westbound Panama Canal cruise next year. Some of us were lucky to get to know each other at a luncheon. This thread is so that we can help each other plan and get to know each other better. New friends are welcome too and we already know many of the East bounders as well from the transatlantic! We know there are plenty of people out there, who were on the Med cruises throughout the summer, so do join us. There is currently a nice thread for this cruise, but it took off while we were still frantically planning for this year’s cruise. It has become very large, so many of us felt lost on it. This is an opportunity for continuing relationships and making new ones with people who have past special cruises in common. Again, all new friends are welcome; I don’t want this to sound like an exclusive club!!! Past PC’rs are very welcome to help us do our planning – we’d appreciate your input.

We have less than a year to go for this fun cruise, but this one seems less daunting than the Med. It seems that it will be a lot less packing (since it will be warm weather all the way), a lot less excursion planning, a lot more relaxing! I know my family is looking forward to an easier cruise (although we loved every single minute of the repo and Med.)

There are lots of us from the west coast on this next cruise, so we can plan several meets at Disneyland. I think there are several from the Orlando area as well, so they can also plan meets at WDW. Hop on and let’s start planning.

Sandy: Just got back from traveling again and I found the recipe for the vanilla martinis in my toiletry bag: It was galliano! Here it is again:
Equal parts Vanilla Absolute
White Godiva
Amaretto
Galliano
Vanilla ice cream mix
Put in a shaker, and that's it.

Ron: I am SO in favor of your idea to start a less hectic thread for the eastbound repo. That other thread is so active I have completely given up on it. We had a private thread for one of our cruises when the keeper of the list got banned fom the DIS. I don't know how to do it, but if you are interested in setting one up, I can point you in the right direction.
Sorry to hear about getting ripped off for the overweight luggage.

And I found the one for us Westbounders - this is going to be so much fun.

And to those of you that were extorted because of luggage weights- ouch

Here is a thread for those of us who met up on the first Mediterranean Cruise (or any other time for that matter ) and are planning the Panama Canal Cruise. Nothing against the other thread, but some of us can't keep up

As for us, we will be going in a category 7 for the PC cruise and then staying onboard with a bit of an upgrade It is just me and DH - Tracy and Bill aka winotracy and AskAGeek.

Anyone else?

Yes, this is the eastbound cruise. I am also checking daily for a couple clients and hope to get both of them on the cruise too. My guess is that if there will be openings, it will be sooner than May. I personally have cancelled a couple reservations already.

So the new thread is for those booked or hoping to book the repo taking the Magic back home next August? We booked a cat. 6 gty. I checked the existing thread for this cruise and they are going strong over there. I was a bit overwhelmed by how much I would have to read to get caught up.
