Cindy,
Our deepest sympathies on your loss. But, at least she had a great cruise and you have some lasting happiness with her. God bless you!!!

British Airways nearly did us in...not only lost our luggage prior to embarkation, (retrieved it all by 9 pm on Sat nite) but jacked us around on our way home. Never again. THEN, I tried to update our DSL and instead of doing so whilst we were gone, they cancelled it altogether!!! I finally have it back up, but I had to get a new email address. For some reason, I can't send emails, but I can receive them. The new email is memar.may1@verizon.net.
I have some great pix, and I would like to share them with all concerned...Ron, I have a couple of great toga pix of you....but I don't know how to send them!!! I am a computer dummy and will try to do my best to get them to you.
Tracy, I have taken 1343 frames on the trip...you win!
My family so enjoyed meeting everyone and having the time of our lives on this fabulous Med cruise. I sure am ready to do it again!!!! I still can't believe that we were there...pinch me quick!!! Ah, the reality of work really brought me back. that bites. Oh well. I will not let those vipers wipe out my wonderful and happy and joyous memories of this amazing cruise.
Thank you to everyone that enriched our lives and made us smile!!!
Memarmay aka, Mari, Raleigh (you know, the one with the cowboy hat!), Allison and Lauren. And Lauren still is talking about this trip! :cloud9:

I think Iberia, was to worried about getting us on the flight they moved us on to, to worry about luggage weights...we did have 23 minutes...

Showed up 2 hours and 20 minutes early and other flight was delayed, we would miss our connection. so BAM here you go get there...

was kinda kewl no waiting!!!! ;)

Cindy

Prayers to you and your family. I am sorry for your loss.

Sandy

Cindy,
I am really sorry to hear for your loss. I can't imagine how hard it will be to deal with the loss of a parent. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that you are in the thoughts of many during this time. I am glad that her suffering was not prolonged and that you were able to spend time together on the cruise.

Celeste

My sympathy for you loss. I lost my mother to cancer back in 2002. I hope you can look back and be grateful for getting to spend so much time together before her passing, even though it may have not been what you planned. I think that is wonderful that you will be cruising again in her memory.

Cindy:

So sorry to hear of your loss.....I can't believe it all happened so quickly.
Prayers and pixie dust going your way.

Cindy,

You and your family have been in my thoughts since you posted about your Mom's illness onboard. I am so sorry for your loss.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I love the idea of cruising in your Mom's memory. Please let us know when you're going and we'll prayer for your Mom and your family while you're away.

Please let us know if your Mom made it on any of the excursions, if we were on those excursions I'd be happy to share any photos that I may have that she may be in.

We flew from Barcelona to Malaga after we got off the crusie, and we took a commuter airline (similar to Southwest), the luggage restrictions were insane! 20 kg per passenger (NOT per bag)! They checked in the bags, sent them down the belt then refused to give them back or to give us our boarding passes until we paid the overage, which was 300 Euros!! I feel it was extortion, and I had disputed the charge with AMEX, the airline, and with Travelocity. It really had me upset, especially the way they did it... on our flight from Malaga to Madrid a few days later we each got a carry on bag and STUFFED it to near popping and we were close enough on weights that we were not charged... it was crazy though! You are not alone, others have posted of the Extortion...;)

Be careful out there...

Please, let us know the results...

I know i was over!!

But they let it slide...;)

had 7 different bottles we did not have on the way down..

Wow! I wasn't sure there would be many posts after the trip, boy was I wrong.

I can't express how much I have enjoyed traveling with each of you. This trip would have be memorable in and of itself, but to spend it with new friends was indescribable. Ya'll are so wonderful!! And I am so thankful to have been apart of it.

All the gifts were wonderful. I used to be excited about the what towel animal I would come "home" to but presents in my FE was a "whole new world."

Cindy (disneynut64) my utmost condolences.

I flew Air France and highly recommend it for any future European vacations. They were outstanding. :thumbsup2 In Paris, they actually met us at the plane and drove us to the gate for our connection to make sure we made it. There had been a gate change and we got there before everyone else did.

Winotracy - you are my new TA. I had a wonderful time at the spa thanks to your gift certificate and got squat from my TA (MEI Travel) who booked the vacation (not even a bottle of wine in the room). Still have yet to receive a follow up call. Put me down for the special itin sailing in 2009 - not sure where it is going but I'll be there.

Arizonarita - I have a postcard from Johnson Space Center for you but I left my notes on the plane on the way and couldn't remember who needed it. I'll PM for your address.

Question for everyone, how do I find out about reunion cruises. I'd love to go with ya'll again???? :grouphug:

Ron - sorry to hear about your problems with the bags. We were lucky on Air France. We had on bag way over the limit and they let it go. I was really worried about our carryons and they didn't even weigh them. So I am feeling really lucky.

Ron, you're not alone! We had the exact same thing happen on Air France... but it was $655 Euros!!! After they had our bags and we were told to pay or we couldn't get on the plane. I had asked every detail about our flight plans, weight and baggage to our travel agent EXCEPT I failed to ask about the leg to Paris. TA said it wasn't their fault and if I'd asked they would have researched it. Then she carefully inspected all of our carry ons! My husband was livid. The only reason we added on the leg to Paris was because it was so inexpensive to fly there. If my TA would have thought for a minute about the fact that we were on a 35 day vacation with 4 seperate legs she would have checked it out for us. BUT nope it was my fault for not asking!:rolleyes1

Cindy, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JENN! (I have no idea how to change colors or make this bigger, but consider it HUGE!) :rotfl2:

Sandy: Just got back from traveling again and I found the recipe for the vanilla martinis in my toiletry bag: It was galliano! Here it is again:
Equal parts Vanilla Absolute
White Godiva
Amaretto
Galliano
Vanilla ice cream mix
Put in a shaker, and that's it.

Ron: I am SO in favor of your idea to start a less hectic thread for the eastbound repo. That other thread is so active I have completely given up on it. We had a private thread for one of our cruises when the keeper of the list got banned fom the DIS. I don't know how to do it, but if you are interested in setting one up, I can point you in the right direction.
Sorry to hear about getting ripped off for the overweight luggage.

Tracy: Will the Dreams travelers also be getting a Palo brunch on the Eastbound? That's enough to get some people to sign over to you!
